Lower Level EnSuite for 4 near Chicago Mich & Indiana Dunes

NOT Whole House. There are 16 stairs to this Ensuite Room which has 380 square feet. Lower level only, no kitchen. You will have a Private bathroom, microwave, coffee maker and mini-fridge. Lovely quiet neighborhood with a beautiful back forest view near the Indiana Dunes National Park. Take a 15 min Walk or 3 min bike ride to the nearby paved trails at Imagination Glen Park. No one can build behind us since it drops down into the beautiful open valley. Beaches are only 15 min away by car especially the Indiana Dunes for sun & hiking. I-80/94 is only 2.2 miles away to go to Chicago which is 40 min west if you want the big city life of theatre, sports, restaurants, & shopping. You can also take the South Shore train which is only 4.1 miles away. Michigan is 40 min east if you want wineries, small town shopping & restaurants or surfing. We are in the middle of the best of both worlds. There is even a new restaurant at the Dunes to enjoy lunch or dinner by the water. There are also casinos, shopping malls, and antique stores and in the surrounding areas.

Great spot! Everything you need within 15min of driving! It worked great for the price and I will be back. The hosts were fabulous with giving us space and hosting!

Mary and Mike have such an amazing cozy place! We come in for our family reunion every year, and got a beautiful, Clean! & What a wonderful vibe! We got in a bit early and she was super sweet and accommodating! We look forward to seeing them again next year!

More Airbnb than VRBO. Hosts were very pleasant. Area had a safe feel. Property was clean and offered beach accessories. Was a little busy with host's collectables on every wall and furniture surface - not bad just not my thing. Was fine for a couple of nights for a solo traveller. Description was accurate.

Mary provided information before arriving in Indiana. We drove in from Buffalo NY for a family gathering. Our stay was for two nights which were great. We got to meet her precious cats and chat with Mary and her husband. The check in/out process was very detailed which made our stay seamless.100% worth it!!

The perfect place for our short stay in the area

Mary was very accommodating and the living space had everything we ever would need at an affordable price. It was clean, quiet and the house is located in a safe area near the dunes. Because of the great location we were able to both spend a day at the dunes and also spend a day in Chicago by taking the train nearby. I would highly recommend anyone either visiting the dunes or Chicago to stay here and I will be looking to see if the place is available next time I’m in the area. Thanks Mary for providing such an enjoyable stay :)

Although this was a first, staying in someone's basement, Mary made it less awkward than it could have been. The area was very clean and it was peaceful and easy to sleep. I did find some of the clutter in the home a little overwhelming and our area was rather over decorated, leaving little empty space to put a suitcase or other belongings. I still would stay again as it is a great location and a good value.

Nice

I’ve stayed at alot of rentals. This is the first time I’ve stayed at one, that you had to walk in the owners front door and see/talk to them every time you get there. So, for me it was definitely weird. But, I believe the owners made it easier on me. Both were very nice and welcoming. So, it was easier for the rest of my stay. I stayed in the basement. The bed linen was very clean. Very comfy. The downstairs bathroom was huge and clean. Good job guys

Very limited space for spending actual time in the rental. Most of the basement was blocked off and used as storage. It would have been nice to have a little more space and less decor/ storage items. The fridge was incredibly tiny and anything places next to the freezer part froze. Upon arrival, a guy was rude about the fact that we parked in the driveway. We hadn’t even exited the vehicle fully before he snapped at us about reading the arrival directions. Nowhere did it state where to park in the arrival directions. Lastly, unless the sign has been updated , the WiFi username and password are not accurate. It took two days to be able to use the television. You get what you pay for.

We like to host guests bc it gives them a nice place to stay as another option, it makes use of rooms in our home, we meet new people from allover and it's a side hustle for our traveling adventures.

We live in an upscale neighborhood and we have a back view to a forest which is beautiful. We enjoy our neighborhood bc it is quiet, peaceful, nice neighbors, safe and it's close to a park, Imagination Glen. We can walk or bike there in minutes.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We have the beauty of nature . We like that no one can build behind us due to the land being owned by the Park and there is a creek. It's beautiful to look out and hear the birds chirping from our deck and enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the morning. It's so quiet and peaceful at that time. Sometimes, deer 🦌 can be seen if you look hard enough.
