Spacious, well-appointed home on a beautiful, quiet, river-front lot. About 3 minutes drive to South Freeport and 5-6 minutes drive to Freeport. Our multigenerational family (ages 19-84) loved hanging out on/in the river-facing porch and family room. The kitchen is very well-equipped: lots of tableware, cookware, and small appliances. We enjoyed alternating meals out at the many great local restaurants with cooking for ourselves. Bedrooms have comfortable beds and good closet space (except the single bedroom, which had no closet, but that wasn’t an issue for the teenage boy who slept there). We’re already talking about staying here again. Hosts were easy to reach, and communication was clear.

We rented the house so we could stay together with our adult kids as we explored the area for the first time. We used 5/6 of the bedrooms and the different common areas. It was nice to have space to ourselves and then together. The kitchen had everything we needed for the simple breakfasts we wanted (coffee, toast, bacon, eggs). The long table and living area were worn but it felt homey rather than troublesome. So, if you're looking for sharp, new, or expensive feeling, this might disappoint you - it was comfy and worked just fine for us. The view from many of the bedrooms, common areas, and back porch is of the Harraseeket River which changes dramatically with the tides. There are large walking areas on the sides of the local roads and walking trails nearby. Everything was clean and as expected at check-in and we had no problems the entire time we were there. It was exactly as advertised and perfect for what we were looking for.

Each year we (a group of cousins along with an aunt and uncle or two) gather over a long weekend for games, shared meals, exploring and much laughter. Anna’s house was unanimously voted the best so far. With its large kitchen and cozy livingroom/ dining area, we were able to all gather together comfortably. The bedrooms were comfortable & sunny w/great views.

We had a wonderful stay. This waterfront property is beautiful. Even though I'm a Maine resident I never tire of ocean views. The home size was perfect for our family of 12. We gathered for an early holiday celebration and really appreciated the open spaces and well equipped kitchen.

Great Family Home

We all loved the house and location. It had everything a large family could need—lots of games, books, towels. And the kitchen was fabulous and extremely well stocked. We hope to vacation here again.

Wonderful home for a family get-together

Beautiful location and a charming home for a family get-together. The house was well stocked and had all the amenities needed to make the stay comfortable. The host was responsive to all our questions. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back to coastal Maine.

I am one of four brothers and sisters who grew up in the charming village of South Freeport and this home was built for us to gather together a few times a year and for others to rent in between.

We love the village, the water and the proximity to Freeport and Portland and all the islands of Casco Bay. Freeport has many outlets, and is shopping heaven. Portland is a secret high culture mecca with excellent restaurants, visual arts, music and theatre. Both towns are minutes away.

Using the grill, lolling about on the balcony deck or by the fireplace (wood provided), appreciating nature and the quietness and the pull of the tides. Sitting or swimming from the dock at high tide.
