Beach Escape with the Best Sunsets

About This Space:

A cozy home in a quiet neighborhood, close to the best sunsets. Bay beaches are within walking distance, ocean beaches are 8 miles away (15 minute drive) in Cape May and Wildwood. Restaurants, wineries, breweries, Victorian Cape May, the Wildwood boardwalk, and Cape May-Lewes Ferry are all in close proximity. Work from our home and enjoy all the beauty of Cape May County.

Also, Cape May is a birders’ paradise, perfectly situated along the Atlantic Flyway. Each spring and fall, it hosts hundreds of species of migrating birds and butterflies.


The Space:

Relax, unwind and enjoy this beachy cottage! It's a short walk to the bay beach and the amazing sunsets that Lower Township is known for.

There's plenty of room to spread out, including two separate living spaces (one includes a dedicated work space) and a wrap-around back and side deck. One floor living consists of an eat-in kitchen with seating for 6, a bedroom with a queen-size bed and ensuite bathroom, a second bedroom with a full-size bed, and a third bedroom with a twin-over-full bunk bed. Another full bathroom and laundry room with washer and dryer (laundry detergent provided) complete the house. A gas grill sits just off the back deck.

New in 2025: the kitchen cabinets, kitchen table and benches have been freshly painted.

We provide 6 beach chairs and 6 beach towels. The beach chairs are located in the large brown storage container beneath the bay window at the back of the house. The beach towels are stored in a basket in the closet in the front living room. Please wash, dry and return the towels to the closet before you check out.

**New options for bed linens and bath towels. Please see "Other Details to Note" below.**

We supply hand soap, dish soap and laundry detergent.

There's a starter supply of dishwasher detergent, toilet paper and paper towels.


Guest Access:
The entire house and yard are yours to enjoy, excluding the garage.


Other Details to Note:

- The outdoor shower is seasonal; available from approximately mid-April until late October.

Linens and Towels: Guests have 3 options this year. Option 1: Guests can rent sheets and towels from a local linen rental company. These companies deliver linens to the house on check-in day and pick them up on check-out day. If you choose this option, we will provide you with the names and numbers of local rental companies at the time of your booking. Option 2: Guests can bring their own linens. Option 3: Guests can use the linens provided in the house. If guests choose to use the sheets and towels provided at the property, we kindly ask that on check-out day, they start the sheets on the "Light” Wash setting and put in the dryer when finished. The towels should be started in the washer while the sheets are in the dryer. You may opt to not launder the linens; in this case, there is a $25 fee to cover the cost of the housekeeping staff’s extra time and labor. Please note that we share a housekeeping crew with numerous other property owners. In order for them to clean each of their properties between 10 am check-outs and 3 pm check-ins, they need to return to our house at least once after they clean to complete both the sheets and towels. Thank you for your understanding!

The host requires you complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please make sure the grill is cleaned if you used it. A wire brush is provided to scrape the grate.
If you use the linens and towels we provide, please start the laundry. Please see the framed directions on the desk in the living room for full laundering instructions.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
The VRBO guest booking the house must provide the full names and ages of all guests immediately after the booking is confirmed.
The VRBO guest booking the property must be at least 25 years old and must stay at the property for the duration of the booking.
If guests use linens provided, please start them in the laundry on check out day. See House Manual in blue binder for full instructions on laundry.

We had an enjoyable stay at Bay Escape! The house was super clean and very nicely appointed. Neighborhood was nice as were the neighbors. We love Cape May and spent a good bit of time there, but also explored the Villas. Would definitely consider returning!

Lovely Property in a Great Location

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is super clean with hardwood floors and comfy furniture. We liked the open floor plan and appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. We could walk to the beach or eat on the deck and watch the many bunnies that visit the yard. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with. She has thought if everything in the house from books and games to silky sheets and fluffy towels. The Villas neighborhood is great and the house is within walking distance of a wonderful diner, library, ice cream stand, and miniature golf. We were 15 minutes from Cape May and Wildwood. I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful in the Villas

This was probably the best rental that we’ve reserved and stayed. Convenient to all Cape May stuff. Easy walk to the beach at the end of Wildwood Ave. sunsets were great. Property was clean and well maintained. Plenty of pillows for the beds. Beds were very comfortable. Light switches were labeled (we’ve stayed in places where we never figured out what some switches worked). Well equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals. Very enjoyable stay.

Great girls getaway weekend

We loved our stay in this sweet cottage. It had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed including a great blender for margaritas. We did have problems streaming the game on the TV, but it seemed that that the box did not have the program we needed to stream it. There were lots of options for other streaming services. The cottage is not far from grocery shopping and restaurants. There is a great little place on the bay for cocktails at sunset. We loved this pace so much we are planning to make it the place for our annual girls trip. The host was very responsive and was a great resource for restaurants and things to do in the area!
