Our Villa Verandah is a Caribbean styled Villa on the island of Nevis which catches the pleasant cool breeze around the wide shaded balconies surrounding the living accommodation. You will have a 30ft x15ft fully screened dining and relaxing terrace with its own bar. Our villa sleeps 2-8 people in air conditioned comfort. You can rent just the upper floor for individual couples who enjoy peace comfort and space.
Oualie Beach and Chrishi Beach are both only 3 minutes away, our villa is only 50ft above sea level, on the Caribbean ocean side of the island. Close to the best beaches, the villa has a premium location in Nevis on a quiet private road with no passing traffic at all.

Villa Verandah is on 3/4 of an acre of spacious tropical garden with spectacular views from the balconies towards the sea and the island of St.Kitts. The villa has its own 30ft private swimming pool with palm trees and a waterfall, spacious designer furnished living room, huge exterior FULLY SCREENED lounge, (no bugs!) where you can eat or relax in comfort, with your own bar, and a well equipped modern kitchen. The villa has 4 double bedrooms, and also a single bedroom annexed to the master bedroom (with a full size single bed), which is great for a child. We also have available an additional baby / toddlers cot. All bedrooms are individually Air Conditioned, the other rooms have large rotating ceiling fans to keep cool. We have two double bedrooms with king-size beds and their own en-suite bathroom/shower.
You will have cable TV, DVD and a sound system which relays music to the house and pool. Bring your laptop if you wish to collect your emails and stay in touch with the world with our wireless high speed internet access, and of course telephone.

Our comfortable villa is ideal for a family with children, two couples, or a group of friends who could share together. If you do not need all of the bedrooms, or are 'just two' who want to use the house on your own, ( the upper floor is perfect for a couple ), we will offer a discount. The villa is peaceful, quiet, private, and not overlooked. It is not on a 'complex' of other villas where the next house may be only 30ft away. Verandah stands on it own large plot of land on a small rise 3 minutes from the beach on the calm Caribbean Ocean side of Nevis. Golf is available at the 4 Seasons Hotel , 18 hole Robert Trent designed golf course.
Villa Verandah is serviced by our maid Martha , who visits weekly, Ryan, who cleans the pool, and Ricky our gardener.
Nearby 'Manza's' store sells freshly grown organic fruit and vegetables and other provisions. Supermarkets and shops are in Charlestown about 10 minutes drive away.
John, or Livi our agents from Oualie Realty in Nevis, will meet and greet you and take you to the villa. They are on hand to help in any way you need during your vacation.
If you fly in to St Kitts International airport (5 miles away) you can cross to Nevis on the ferry (30mins), or we can arrange a private water taxi transfer for you. You will need a car or Jeep to get around the island and we can help reserve this for the duration of your stay.

Peaceful and Relaxed Stay

We had a group of 5 who stayed at Peter's. When we arrived we met his agent Livi who was flexible and very organized. He remained helpful throughout the trip by assisting with rental vehicles and recommendations. The home itself was the perfect size for us and could have fit a bigger group. Everything in the home was clean when we arrived. It's a perfect spot for a family vacation and the pool is a great touch. Plan to rent a car because it is a short drive to everywhere on the island. I would stay at this place again and would recommend highly recommend it!

Great house in Nevis!

Our family traveled to Nevis and stayed at this beautiful home with wonderful views from the front porch. The screened in porch and pool were our favorites. We had Chef Chevy come cook for us one night and it was absolutely delicious. We would absolutely come back and stay in this house again. The Wifi was spotty at times but it seemed to be more of a cable company issue than an issue of the homeowners. This house had plenty of space for 2 families and the rooms had air conditioning (the main kitchen area did not). Any issues or questions we had were always promptly addressed by Peter the homeowner. Overall great experience! We love Nevis!!

Lovely villa with beautiful views

We have just returned from Nevis where we had the pleasure of staying at Villa Verandah. Peter maintained good communication with me throughout the booking process and provided detailed information about travelling to the villa from St Kitts and recommended a local car rental. We were guided to the villa by Livi, who took time to show us around the property. The villa is set in a raised position with great views of Nevis Peak and also the Caribbean Sea, looking across to St Kitts. The villa was clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed relaxing on the screened verandah, in the late afternoons. The pool was great for cooling off and the summer house was equally restful. We tended to have breakfast there and looked out for the shy monkeys in the surrounding trees. The villa was very peaceful, yet close to the bars and eateries on Pinneys Beach and other restaurants. There were only two of us, but it is clearly a great place for small or large groups.

Wonderful vacation off the beaten path

We spent 2 weeks at Villa Verandah on Nevis and it was a wonderful time. The island is quiet and safe, very few tourists. We went mostly to Paradise Beach and, on a stretch of beach of almost a mile, there were never more than 10 people. The villa is really nice, with a marvelous screened terrace. It truly deserves its name as the verandah goes all the way around on both levels. We had one child that spent some time watching TV but all the adults were outside all the time. The pool is very nice and large enough to swim. Several people showed up at various times and took care of the yard, pool and house. Very clean and well maintained overall. Transportation was also well coordinated - we were picked up at the airport by a taxi driver (plenty of taxis at the airport on St Kitts) and then, to the envy of several people waiting at the docks, were handed over to the water taxi that took us immediately to Oualie beach where our rental car was waiting. Overall a very pleasant experience.

So GOOD!

Villa Veranda was our home away from home for a week in Nevis. We were two families traveling together with six kids ages 9 to 16. The house worked perfectly for our group. There was plenty of space (4 bedrooms), was close to beach (10 minute walk) and the pool area and screened in porch were quite simply - awesome. Both the adults and kids loved hanging out enjoying the views and cooling off in the pool. We loved adventuring out into Nevis to find the hidden gems. I recommend getting a map and driving around the island. All the gems are listed in guide book at the house. Peter (the homeowner) was amazing. He had everything organized for us the second we walked out of the airport. We had taxi service to the boat to Nevis and then had 2 rental cars ready to go for us. From there we had Peter's local contacts take us directly to the house. Peter's local help was remarkable. Attentive, responsive and very kind. In short, they took very good care of us. If you are looking for a great place to call home, look no further. Villa Veranda is an oasis and a wonderful place to call home. In fact, we didn't want to leave! Hope you enjoy!

Fabulous trip!

We took a girls trip to St Kitts & Nevis. Hands down this trip was our very favorite. The house is big & spacious-there were 4 of us - we each had our own space as well as many other gathering places when we were all together. The views are stunning! The beaches on Nevis are wonderful - we spent the mornings at the beach and when the temp heated up we went to the house and jumped in the pool! All the beaches are public and free. We took the ferry several times over to St Kitts to shop & tour - it's really an easy process. Nevis is the place to stay, less traffic, less people but still many restaurants and grocery options. You really need to rent a car, you'll enjoy your stay much more. Livi, the Property Mgr was wonderful to help when needed, always available. He arranged our taxi from St Kitts airport to our water taxi to Nevis and then took us to the house (and also arranged our transportation when we left as well). Thrity Rental Car was very easy to work with and always available as well. Our trip was in May after the tourist season was over - we loved it and will definitely be booking again next year. We literally had the beaches to ourselves most days. All the locals smiled & greeted us and were happy to help if we needed questions answered. I can't say enough about this house, the people, the beautiful scenery - it was truly the perfect trip! Thank you to Peter & Livi.

Wonderful family home with an amazing, private pool

We spent twelve nights at Villa Verandah in August with our four children, ages 15 down to 4. The house was spacious with all the comforts of home. It is an older home (which we prefer as we have too many kids to worry about brand new places with expensive artwork!) and you feel that you can relax there instead of worrying all the time about somebody's white designer sofa. We particularly enjoyed the screened in deck which meant that we could sit outside and read, as well as eating all our meals outside without being bothered by bugs. The high point of the house is the private pool with its waterfall, where we spent a great part of every day. It is entirely private and the kids can make some noise without you having to worry about disturbing other people - although they may disturb the monkeys which visited every day to drink from the waterfall. You will be well looked after by the staff who come in to look after the pool and the house and Livi from the management company will take care of transport and can provide recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. The home is high up on a hill overlooking the sea and is a five minute drive from the nearest beach - Oualie - which offers safe, shallow waters for the kids, as well as the benefits of a bar and restaurant when the kids really can't live another minute without a Ting. It is about a 10 minute drive to the longer Pinneys Beach where most of the beach bars e.g. Sunshine, are situated and 10 minutes in the other direction to Lovers Beach which has deeper water and waves and which you will usually have to yourselves, apart from the turtles and the birds. 15 minutes will get you to the supermarkets and shops in Charlestown. Nevis is a beautiful island and is small and easy to get around with a hire car. It is well worth exploring as there are beautiful beaches everywhere and old plantations, many of which are now converted to hotels with great restaurants. Some are closed during the summer though so pick your time carefully should there be somewhere you particularly want to visit. We recommend breakfast at the Nisbet Plantation - the food was wonderful, the setting beautiful and you even get reduced prices for the kids. Nevis is a wonderful destination if, like us, you want home comforts with the benefits of sunshine, a pool, quiet, safe beaches, decent restaurants, some music and some history. It is a place to chill - take a good book and a relaxed attitude and enjoy some island time.

Lovely Villa Verandah

Villa Verandah is a beautiful, spacious property with big gardens and a fantastic pool. The breezes on sunsets from the screened in porch are truly Caribbean. The villa is very conveniently located to everywhere you want to dine, drink, shop and bathe. Peter, the villa's gracious owner, met our party on arrival and provided many helpful tips that made our time in Nevis that much more special. We would definitely return. Thank you Peter & Nikki.

Peaceful, relaxing, great location

We had a wonderful time in Nevis and staying at Villa Verandah was perfect for us. Peter had all the logistics and information for getting us from St. Kitts airport to the water taxi to Nevis, renting the car, getting to Villa Verandah arranged, making our arrival, after some long flights, very easy. All of this was well communicated. When not checking out the island's beautiful sights, beaches, and great restaurants, we were relaxing in the screened-in porch and pool. Absolutely lovely! It was nice to be close to so much and still feel "away from it all". We appreciated Livi, who greeted us when we arrived in Nevis, was always available and responsive when we had questions or concerns, and made arrangements for our departure. All in all, this was a wonderful experience! Thank you!

100% relaxation!

Beautiful, large house, set in gorgeous , extensive grounds with views over the sea to St Kitts. So much space available in the very well equipped, large house and the peace and quiet of the location is so appreciated after the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. A short drive from a number of wonderful beaches and restaurants, plus 10 minutes to the capital and the supermarkets. The pool was very refreshing and a lovely place to spend some time away from the beach. The monkeys playing in the tress around the house and pool were good fun. Would love to return to the beautiful island of Nevis and to this lovely house some day. A car is essential, book that early as there are not many hire cars available.

Great location, beautiful pool and screened in porch.

Villa Verandahs is a lovely place set in the hills with a nice view over the sea. Beautiful pool with a waterfall and complete privacy. The villa is tasteful and would work for a couple (us) or a family. The owner was extremely helpful in making logistics work and Livi the on island manager was great. The location provides easy access to most of the islands best restaurants.

Perfect for really unwinding

The local representative John met us off the boat late on Saturday afternoon and took the time to show us around the villa, which was immaculately clean and well kept. It is very spacious, and designed and specified to a very high standard. The main verandah is completely mosquito proofed and meant that we could spend every evening outside in complete relaxation. We also spent many happy hours in the pool and on the sun-loungers. The location is very peaceful and private whilst being only a couple of minutes drive from the beach. You can happily spend all day without venturing out if you want, as the villa has everything you need. John was very accommodating and quick to help us with a couple of things we needed, such as a plug adaptor that we had neglected to bring with us. When the mains water in that part of the island went down, John arranged for the plumber to come round and connect a stand-by supply the same evening. John and Peter and Nikki were very helpful when we had something of a medical emergency late in the second week (which was entirely unrelated to our stay). We very much hope to return.

Wonderful Stay at Veranda

Peter & Nikki have a wonderful home that was provided spotlessly cleaned for our two week stay, with a special beer and wine treat which was thoughfully in the frig for us as weary travelers - following a 6 hour flight delay at JFK. The accomodations were super-comfortable, especially the lovely plush twin sofas in the great room and the king size bed down the hall. Everything is on one level as we had no need for more that one bedroom. Nor were there any steps or stairs to navigate to enter the house from the driveway outside. The screened in porch was lovely in the evening to enjoy the sunset without having to worry about bugs. The monkeys, who enjoyed a drink at the pool at least once a day, were a delight to watch and to photograph. Nevis is a wonderful island that we have been returning to for many years. The plantations have never looked better and are a delight to visit. Their food is spectacular, especially at Montpelier. We look forward to a longer stay next year and recommend Veranda without any reservation.

Villa Verandah, Nevis - Highly recommended for real relaxation

Best way to arrive is by hired fishing boat from St Kitts, just as the sun is setting. Pitch up at the small jetty at picturesque Oualie beach and you've only a 3 minute drive to the Villa. Airy, spacious, nicely furnished and well equipped, it makes an ideal base for a relaxing holiday. The owners, Peter & Nikki, were excellent hosts - friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful, ironing out minor problems promptly and offering valuable suggestions as to where to go, where to eat and suchlike. A large part of the Villa's verandah has permanent mosquito nets - a superb idea, which meant we could sit outdoors from early morning breakfast to after-sunset snoozing, with no concerns re any biting bugs. The Villa's pool is a very nice size - not so small that the slightly-more-energetic visitor can't manage a bit of reasonable exercise - and is maintained in fine condition by the pool contractor. The gardens are also very nicely kept and "Claudia" ensures the Villa's interior remains pristine, visiting once or twice a week at times to suit. A hire car is advised - the walk to the main road (where the small local, minivan-style, buses seem to pass regularly) is not particularly long but to get anywhere (including the supermarkets in Charlestown around 15 minutes' drive away) means a hire car is sensible. The main roads are generally quite good condition, and drivers tend towards being laid-back and leisurely, average speeds being around 30-40mph, with only the very occasional nutcase who insists on screaming past at a rate of knots (which, even then, usually only amounts to around 50mph). We were particularly in relaxation mode on this holiday, so we took very little exercise beyond wandering along long stretches of the many, deserted, sandy beaches, paddling in the warm waves. If we had intended a more energetic holiday filled with activity, we probably would not have ventured to Nevis, but it absolutely 100% met our requirements for a leisurely re-charging of the batteries. We were not seeking "nightlife" and if we had been, we would have struggled to find it. Good eating places were available, with costs reasonable - similar in fact to costs of eating out in the UK. Having holidayed on many Caribbean islands, I felt much more comfortable and relaxed in Nevis than any of the others. It's still unspoiled and the locals we met were genuinely friendly. We hope to be back! And if we do return, we shall most probably stay again at the Villa Verandah.

They travel extensively but always enjoy returning to Nevis for it's beauty, tranquility and friendly people. We first visited to Nevis in 1998 whilst on a photographic shoot, and fell in love with island. Last summer Nicola created some colorful Caribbean cards which are on sale here at the art galleries and hotels. It is always a joy to spend time relaxing on this lovely island.

Why they chose this property

We first visited Nevis when Peter was on a photographic shoot in the Caribbean, and we loved the island so much that after several vacations here we bought our villa in 2004. The Villa had been designed and built by the owner of the Botanical Gardens in Nevis, and the garden and pool was laid out with palm trees and tropical flowers. Jones Estate where we are located is on the Caribbean ocean side of the island and has beautiful beaches with calm seas and safe swimming for children. It is our 'home from home', and we are delighted to share it's ambience with others when we are off-island.

What makes this property unique

It is great to visit all the beaches and restaurants that Nevis has to offer, but some days it is wonderful to just relax in the garden, sunbathing , sipping a cool drink, swimming in the pool, and then after lunch of maybe freshly grilled fish and salad , to just lay in the hammock or sit on the veranda and relax with a good book!
