Can’t say enough good things about the host or the hacienda. Steve is awesome (and talented artist). The house is amazing and in a good location. The backyard is a sanctuary that is hard to leave.

Casablanca and hosts Steve and Sanda provided us with the most exceptional Merida, Yucatan holiday experience. The property is an architectural and artistic gem, conveniently located in Merida’s historic centre. Beautiful art adorns the spacious interior and the garden/pool area is an oasis. Every attention to detail is graciously and meticulously provided by the hosts. Many thanks to Steve and Sanda for sharing their exquisite property with our family.

Amazing stay at Casablanca Living

Another great stay with Sanda and Steve. They are the perfect hosts and the house is amazing. The garden and pool are beautiful and the location is quiet yet central to everything Merida has to offer. It is our favorite place to stay in Mexico and we could not recommend it more highly.

Steve & Sanda are amazing hosts. They have a gorgeous, well- cared for property that is immaculate with an amazing outdoor space. We have stayed in numerous VRBO properties over the years but never one as well-equipped as this! We were provided with beautiful fresh fruit, milk, yogurt, bread, even a dozen eggs and more so the 4 of us could eat breakfast before venturing out for the day. The beds were extremely comfortable, too. We would highly recommend this property to anyone travelling to Merida!

This place is a MUST visit! The photos don't do it justice. It is amazing and serene and perfect in every imaginable way. The owners are absolutely delightful people and have given every possible consideration to the comfort of your stay. It is absolutely magical, like living inside a piece of art. The pool is the most perfect cool haven. My husband and I were in it countless times a day! Merida is a cool little town, but the star of the trip, I promise you, will be your stay in this home. You really won't want to leave. It's literal perfection. If I could give it 15/10 I would. If I ever find out these hosts have other VRBO's literally anywhere, I will travel there just to be able to get another experience like this. You just can't help but feel happy and at peace in this magical little gift of a home. Do yourself a favor and book the stay! Also - the hosts have a music playlist that's already set up - PLAY IT. It is truly wonderful and adds the beauty of your stay!

Wonderful holiday

Host and property were amazing. The house was well situated to explore Merida, historic sites, cenotes, and the gulf coast. We all had a wonderful time mixing relaxation with exploration.

Perfect house

Very beautiful house, clean, high ceilings with a fantastic backyard with pool. Great location too! We had a wonderful time, Steve and Sanda were very welcoming and organized.

Beautiful Home

Very nice, clean and stylishly renovated colonial. The owners were very friendly and responsive. The garden in the courtyard was beautiful with a pool and several fruit trees. We enjoyed the sour orange tree immensely. We would definitely love to return again!!

Easy and Authentic Experience

Our hosts, Steve and Sanda, were fantastic and made us feel instantly welcome. The home was immaculate and was stocked with great food staples to make morning meals easy and delicious. The backyard was a perfect place to relax after a day exploring the city. Amazing sites, markets, and restaurants were all within easy walking distance. The home and surroundings felt very authentic but were also very comfortable for non-Spanish speakers.

Great space to stay in Mérida

Steve & Sanda are super thoughtful hosts who have spared no detail in both design and hosting. Communication with them is super easy and their welcoming was excellent. They have thought through it all to ensure their guests are as comfortable as can be. The space is beautiful, spacious, and their garden is spectacular. The location of the home is perfect to explore the beautiful city of Merida. Thanks for hosting us :)

Paradise in Merida

This is an amazing property, a small oasis in downtown Mérida. A wonderfully renovated space and garden carefully curated by Steve and Sandy, both artists. Many of Steve's large paintings hang on the walls, so it feels like a private gallery of great artwork. The garden, yard and pool area was most relaxing, and waking up to the sounds of bird calls with the soft breeze coming thru the screen doors was a bit of heaven. Highly recommended, would definitely return often...

Paradise in Centro

My wife and I spent 2 1/2 wonderful weeks at this splendid property. The location was perfect and wishing walking distance to the main plaza and many restaurants. We were working remotely and the wifi was strong and reliable. The garden was beautifully maintained and the house was even better in person than even the amazing photos show. Steve and Sanda were wonderful hosts and easy to contact. We fell in love with Merida and this property was the perfect beautiful updated colonial home to spend out time exploring the area from.

Perfect in every way

Casa Blanca - a wonderful experience. Like living in an art museum with all the comforts of home and more. Beautiful courtyard and pool. Well equipped kitchen. Convenient location. Easy walking distance to a daily fresh produce market, many restaurants (with veggie options - yes!), and historic sites in and around the central plaza. Top notch hosts Steve and Sanda made it all easy from booking to arrival to stay and departure. They were good neighbors too! Our stay there exceeded our high expectations. We hope to come back.

Spectacular home and hosts!!

The home was all as described and then more! It was one of the cleanest and most well appointed homes I have ever rented on VRBO. The hosts took the time to explain how everything in the home worked when we arrived. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was fabulous, including having some starter provisions for us when we arrived! I have owned and operated several VRBO‘s myself, and I must say these people way out did anything I ever did. They even provided us with a flash drive of music to take home with us. If you are ever going to go to Mérida I highly recommend This property.

WHOA.

holy smokes- this house. i knew it would be beautiful, but the property far exceeded my expectations. it’s an absolute work of art!! we spent most of our time in the breathtaking backyard….. but when we weren’t there, we were looking at all the artwork, cooking in the well-appointed kitchen, or sleeping soundlessly in the master bedroom (awaking only when the morning sun poured in and the church bells rang). i hope steve and sanda keep this property forever, because we can’t wait to visit again and again

Gracious hosts and beautiful house

This house is more stunning than the photos with art, an established garden, and great amenities. The spaces are large and the bedrooms are private and comfortable. Steve and Sanda are welcoming and a fabulous source of information for anything you need (Cenotes, silver chains and market advice). They are both easy to work with, and made sure we had a relaxing stay. Our adult son loved having a guitar to play, while we lounged in the pool hammock. We have stayed in many VRBO properties and have found that some house photos are older or inaccurate. Casablanca is as beautiful as it looks. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks so much Steve and Sanda!

Magical time at CasaBlanca

We stayed at Casa Blanca for 3 weeks in February of '25. The home is absolutely lovely as the photos portray. The master is its own casita in the back and the other two bedrooms are in the main house. Each bedroom had an a/c unit so sleeping on hot and humid evenings wasn't a problem. The garden and pool are beautiful and we spent lots of time enjoying the birds, lizards, possum and random cats. The owners are lovely too and take great pride in the home and it shows. We could ask them anything and they responded very quickly. The house was stocked with fruit, eggs and other basics when we got there and Steve dropped off some of his homemade spaghetti sauce. The area was safe and quiet and not far from Parque Santiago which is equipped with a supermarket, bakery, mercado and dancing on Tuesday nights! A lovely home, lovely people, lovely place.

Casablanca bliss

I stayed here as a single woman. I felt completely safe and well taken care of. Steve gave me an excellent tour when I first arrived and even pointed out amenities I may have missed. The house is historical, perfectly appointed down to every last detail including a house play list if you choose to listen! The garden was amazing! Centrally located, no problem walking to most places including a great fruit market and some amazing restaurants. Check out Uxmal and the Mayan chocolate! Kitchen had Everything! Beds are bliss! Outdoor shower a fun and special experience! The garden is full of all types of birds including a white owl. The art work (much of it the owner’s work) and every piece of furniture and decoration adds even more to the feeling of being surrounded in both local but also international and creative culture! Perfection!

Beautiful!!!

The pictures of the house are stunning but being there in person is breathtaking. Steve and Sanda are great artist and their art pieces are perfectly spread through out, but I feel their masterpiece is this house. The home is in a great location on a quiet street and conveniently close to shops and restaurants. checking in and out was very easy and enjoyable. every square inch of this place was spotless. Steve and Sanda go above and beyond to make one feel at home. Steve had prepared just an awesome playlist of music for us to enjoy on our stay. they have even taken the time to prepare a book with maps, restaurant recommendations, emergency numbers etc.... I would like to keep this one a secret but there's some things you just must share. This place is a MUST-STAY!!! thank you guys... it was a great pleasure meeting the two of you.

Aesthetic Oasis in Urban Merida

Staying in Casa Blanca, Merida is not a typical house-rental experience. Instead, you are sharing a special, beautiful, meticulously cared for home that is the pride of its owners. The property meets all expectations in terms of cleanliness, aesthetics, comfort, convenience. It is spacious, airy and a visual delight, with the artist-owners' paintings creating interest at every turn. The extensive garden and fresh pool create a private oasis that provide relief from the city's intensity. Having rented twice before in Merida, we know how unique this place is. Owners Steve and Sanda couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful and accommodating. They even had the house stocked with necessities and goodies to get us started on arrival. And we loved the Santiago neighborhood, which is near a food market and other necessities, but a bit quieter than others that are a little closer to the main tourist action. Still, everything is perfectly walk-able from this location. We stayed for two weeks and kept imagining at least three or four for our next visit!
