Nice cabin but.....

  • 2 of 5

Pros: nice view

Not very clean

You pay for cleaning fee but have to wash everything before you leave. You have to pay an additional fee for trash removal.

Terrible communication with the owner. Took them 21 days to reply to question.

Address posted on this site is wrong, since we did not get instructions for our arrival it took us almost three hours to find it since the owners did not answer our calls or VRBO employees.

If you wish to be truly on vacation and not worry about washing towels and sheets before you leave please find yourself another cabin. Other than that the cabin view is great.

Rules rules rules

  • 2 of 5

Literally everywhere you look there are rules for everything and everything has labels on it. The view was great but all the rules made it seem not so enjoyable. I won't be visiting back.

Nice cabin in a great location

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed our visit very much. The cabin has great views and the drive up isn't too scary if you take your time. It's in a great location not too far from Deep Creek, Bryson City, Cullowhee, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley.

We enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin and and view from it are lovely. The road to the cabin itself is steep with sharp curves. The views from the cabin are breathtaking. The bed/bedrooms are spacious with plenty of closet space. The kitchen is equipped with utensils, plates, pots/pans; however there is no Tupperware in which to store leftovers. We had a pleasant picnic on the porch. There is limited comfortable seating in the living room area. The basement pool table and board games provided many hours of entertainment for us all. The cabin is convenient to many scenic rides and places to visit. Remember to plan trash removal prior to departure as the nearest dump facilities are closed on Sundays. We enjoyed our stay!

Great cabin with a great view!

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin was well maintained and had stunning mountain views. The Master bedroom suite is a great retreat as it has the entire top floor to itself. Our family had a truly wonderful time while at the cabin. I would highly recommend this cabin to those looking for a private mountain retreat. You can't even see any of the neighboring cabins from this one...and we never even heard anyone else. It was an amazing retreat nearly at the top of a mountain. Awesome location views, really private/quite, surrounded by wildlife (My wife got pictures of Birds, Squirrels, rabbits, etc.), and rather luxurious inside.

The driveway the entire way to the cabin is indeed paved though it is a bit narrow at times, has some steep hills, and sharp turns. I truly enjoyed the driveway personally and it was to be expected to have a good climb if approaching a cabin really high up on a mountain. Though it would be a concern for folks not use to mountain driving.

Also, there is limited comfortable seating in the living room (seats 3 on the couch) which leaves several guests sitting in wooden dining room chairs. This isn't as much of an issue if you are utilizing the game room downstairs, reading loft, etc. the home also has to offer. Though if you have a large family wishing to watch TV together in the evening that will be difficult.

Finally, this cabin is a fairly good place to disconnect from it all. There is no internet and only 2 TVs (Living room & Game Room) which have Direct TV service. Regarding Cell phones AT&T gets little to no service unless you are on the top floor though Verizon does fairly well around the entire property.

Overall I would be very happy to return to this cabin again. If you are looking for either a family vacation or just a romantic getaway this cabin is great for both. The cabin is large enough and has a great game room to occupy a family. while the master suite upstairs is a great romantic retreat with or without your family also staying in the cabin. Great design/layout for having a true owners retreat upstairs. We will certainly keep this cabin in mind for future trips to the Smokey Mountains.

Beautiful cabin, in good shape; great views; would stay again in the future

Excellent location for a family get-away or celebration (we did my daughter's 21st Birthday). Gated community, very private and very quiet; fantastic mountain views morning and evening; lots of stars (very little light pollution) at night. Can't go wrong with this one (Blackberry Ridge). There were a few blackberry bushes just springing up (May 13-15), but only early buds -- late summer there are sure to be plenty of blackberries to pick! Give this one a try!
