Enjoy a sweeping view of ocean, dunes, and sky from the balcony of Beachcomber’s Bungalow, our condo at Ocean Village Club Q36. From the quaint bistro table you'll feel the salt spray, bask in the warm breeze, and feel every bit of stress melt away!
We can’t guarantee the gorgeous rainbow shown in the photo taken from our balcony recently, but you’ll feel as though you’re over the moon every day at Beachcomber’s Bungalow. The condo is well appointed and thoroughly stocked with kitchenware, fresh linens and towels, and all the major appliances you need for an easy and convenient vacation (and yes, we do mean a washer/dryer, a microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, ice and water in the door of the fridge – you get the idea!).
To complete the carefree atmosphere, Beachcomber’s Bungalow is decorated in vintage-look beach style. Distressed furniture, nautical knickknacks, and pastel island colors create a feeling of relaxed oceanfront living you’ll love! Put your cares far behind you and give in to the magic of stress-free, fun beach life!
You will find yourself drawn to the balcony, first last and always. It’s covered, giving you a break from the overhead sun, but light spills in from the front, so you can always get as little or as much sun as you like. In addition to the safety rail, we’ve added a layer of fine mesh along the base to keep the balcony totally safe. And the European café-style iron bistro table is a great place to enjoy that first cup of coffee in the morning (if you get up early, you might catch the spectacular sunrise over the ocean!), that midafternoon breather (frosty beverage, anyone?) and a final glass of wine before bed.
The best part about the balcony is that you don’t have to leave the view behind when you go indoors. Throw the drapes open wide and enjoy the vast blue sky and sparkling oceanfront swimming pool through the sliding glass doors even when you’re in the living and dining area of Beachcomber’s Bungalow. You never forget you’re within sight of the Atlantic!
Our open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area gives you plenty of space while still allowing everyone in the group to stay together. The couch and futon (which flattens out into a comfy bed for 2, by the way) are likely to induce afternoon naps, which is just fine. The flat-screen TV with cable, VCR, and DVD player will make sure you don’t miss the big game, and the big round dinner table doubles as a game and puzzle surface.
Foodies and non-cooks alike will enjoy the spotless kitchen at the condo. It is galley-style and decorated to be light and bright, with the washer and dryer in one corner and a long-serving hatch opening into the dining space. If you have no intention of lifting a spatula or turning on a burner this vacation, so be it – stock up on drinks and snacks, and use the appliances just to reheat that delicious restaurant takeout! But if you do like the occasional home cooked treat, you’ll find all the equipment you need here to fillet fish, bake cookies, blend a pitcher of margaritas, or roast a turkey – whatever you like!
There are 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths at Beachcomber’s Bungalow. The master suite is fabulous, with a deluxe dual control Sleep Number king-sized bed, a flat-screen TV, and an en-suite bath including a walk-in tiled shower. The second bedroom offers 2 twin-sized beds and is convenient to the second bath, which has both a shower and tub option. And don’t forget about that futon for “sleepovers” or overnight guests! It has the best view of the sunrise!
Parties larger than 6 or pairs of families can also rent the adjoining condominium Q35.
Beachcomber’s Bungalow is simply a treat for your next St. Augustine vacation. With the beach just steps away in one direction and every resort amenity imaginable in the others, you’ll have to force yourself to leave Ocean Village Club to go to the historic Old City and explore all the sightseeing destinations of this area! Great golf, world-class shopping, and terrific dining await you. Come have the time of your life in northeast Florida!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The condo itself was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. My favorite part was going out on the patio in the morning to enjoy the view of the ocean with a cup of coffee (I miss it already!). The community is well-maintained and quiet at night. The security guard even makes sure the pool is cleared out by 10:00pm. The beach could not be more beautiful and I was thrilled to discover that our dog was even allowed to join us out there! I really hope we can go back next summer. :)
Ok, but didn't meet expectations!
The condo was beautifully decorated! We loved that the condo was furnished with linens, towels, beach items and a stocked kitchen with dishes and pans. We did have a few issues. The screen door leading out to the lanai was broken and became stuck or wouldn't open. The carpet in both bedrooms was extremely soiled. There were dead ants in the refrigerator that I cleaned out. My wife ended up in the E.R. one morning and we couldn't get back into the condo for several hours because they were painting the walkways and staircases. That was extremely frustrating. We aren't sure if we would stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay; however, very disappointed that we had been informed elevator would be repaired/.replaced and completed before our arrival; walking up and down to the third floor with a pet was inconvenient. Especially for my husband with health issues; however, we still enjoyed the view and the grounds. We like staying at Ocean Village. This was our second visit.
We had a wonderful time.
The condo was very nice and comfortable. That you for keeping the place so clean and stocked. The only things we missed were a dish washing cloth and some pot holders.
Wasps and dirty laundry
Large wasp nest on balcony. Pillows on couch had (un)safety pins holding them together. Hd Tvs not hooked up with Hd connections, so not HD. Sheets in washer had to be washed and dried for twin bed room, towels still in dryer to be folded. Nice condo and location, horrible house keeping and maintenance. Felt like the should have paid me house keeping fee instead of other way around.
The property was great, we had a great time. VRBO on the other hand is a total ripoff and a scam!!!
ATTENTION PERSON READING THIS REVIEW - YOU MAY BE GETTING RIPPED OFF RIGHT NOW! I should have gone directly through the rental management office, which is what I thought I was doing, until I got home and found an UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE ON MY CREDIT CARD FROM VRBO. At no time during the entire booking process did I realize I was using a third party booking agency and at no time did I authorize them to charge me $67.67 just for booking my room with another company. I called VRBO to find out why I was charged, where is my receipt, and where during the booking process did I agree to pay that fee. I got some lady that mumbled and muffle-talked her way through the slowest explanation that made no sense. She wanted to tell me all of the benefits that come with using VRBO and I had to ask her over and over to repeat herself because I could not understand anything she just said. I don't care what VRBO brings to the table - I want to know where I agreed to this service in the first place. The more questions I asked, the harder it became to understand her. I finally hung up and filed a complaint with the rental property management themselves. They told me from now on just to call them directly. Vacation Rental Pros, the property management firm, is GREAT. Go directly to them.
The property was great - but DO NOT BOOK IT ON THE WEBSITE YOU ARE CURRENTLY VIEWING YOU ARE BEING RIPPED OFF.
And for day trips, historic St. Augustine is minutes away, with fine restaurants and shopping as well as sightseeing. Orlando is less than a 2-hour drive in one direction, while Daytona is even closer in another. You'll find plenty to do in this part of Florida, and you can look forward to comfort and relaxation.
