About Christie Dunn

We have worked in all aspects of the hospitality business. We are delighted to offer our guest a new cabin in the Glacier National Park area. We have lived in the area for over 15 years. We are glad to share this beautiful place and assist our guests with as much information for a wonderful time in Glacier.

Christie Dunn purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Christie Dunn chose Columbia Falls

We came to Montana to work & vacation in Glacier National Park for the summer. We fell in love with the area & wanted to live as close to Glacier as we could. We found a small log cabin that we made our own.

What makes this cabin unique

From these beautiful 5 acres, we are always amazed at all the wildlife, from the reclusive moose, black bears, coyotes, deer & wolves. We also have many colorful birds for all those birdwatchers. This location is convenient to the park & town. We also have alot of hiking & boating adventures here too.

Amazing Cabin, Amazing Stay

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend, some friends and I had the pleasure of spending four nights and three days at one of the 2 BR/1 Loft Reclusive Moose Cabins, owned by Ryan and Christie Dunn. Our experience at the cabin could not have been better! Our excitement began when we first laid eyes on the “Elk” cabin. The open front porch is adorned with comfortable sofa benches and tables which we used to enjoy dinner on the cool Montana nights. It only took one step into the cabin before we were wowed. The craftsmanship and build quality was top notch, the lighting was warm and welcoming, and the décor was tasteful and on point; themed appropriately to the Glacier NP wilderness so close by. While I wouldn’t describe the Elk cabin as huge, it’s not tiny either. It was perfectly comfortable for four adults and we never felt on top of one another. The beds were comfortable, it was immaculately clean, and the kitchen was well appointed with all the cooking supplies you'd need.

We were impressed with the little things too like there being an electrical outlet on each of the four walls in our bedroom which made plugging in our devices nice and easy. It's always nice to not have to unplug a lamp or alarm clock to snag a free outlet! Ryan and Christie also had a binder in the L/R complete with local restaurant menus, wifi and departure instructions, and other helpful information.

We enjoyed the grill area, which is shared between the four cabins and only 20 steps or so from the cabin’s doorstep. We did some grilling and had dinner at the picnic table. Recycling was easy as there is a bin separated by glass, plastic, and aluminum right there. We also took a couple of the bikes Ryan and Christie make available to guests for a ride down the road. We chose the old-school bikes, the ones you need to pedal backwards in order to break, and had fun riding them. A housekeeper came by once or twice during our stay and provided fresh towels and toilet paper which was appreciated. We mostly communicated with Ryan while we were there and he was great; very cordial, helpful, and prompt with his responses. He recommended some cool hikes we want to do next time we visit GNP.

When we were planning our trip, we knew we wanted a comfortable home base right outside the park entrance, a place where we could relax after a long day of hiking…we found that and more at this place. Next time we come back to GNP we're booking at the Reclusive Moose!

Trout Cabin at Reclusive Moose

  • 5 of 5

The Trout cabin provided a great start to our Glacier NP. The owners thought of everything including fresh sweet cherries and Montana coffee. We were pleasantly surprised. All through the booking process everything was professionally handled. The cabins were clean and decor was comfortable and perfectly matched the trout theme! It was so fun! We were sorry we couldn't take full advantage of all the amenities provided. I was thankful the train was in the distance. Great location.Anyone looking for a spot, look no further. This is it!

Relaxing with the Moose

  • 5 of 5

What a blessing to get out of the chaos of West Glacier and enjoy family time tucked in the woods. With only four cabins on property, we felt comfortably private. The Moose cabin was spotless and had all the amenities we needed. After a home cooked dinner on the property, we borrowed the bicycles and went for a two mile ride down to the Flathead River while our cobbler cooked. The beds were comfortable and it was super dark and quiet at night. We loved sitting on the porch for breakfast or wine. If we would have known how peaceful it was, we would have allotted more time for just enjoying the space and doing a little fly fishing. The Moose was a great end to our 10 day tour of the park.

Perfect for our Family of Six

  • 5 of 5

We highly recommend the Reclusive Moose cabins. The Bear cabin was perfect for our family of six during a four night stay. The cabin was clean, beds were comfortable, and the setting was quiet and relaxing. The Glacier National Park entrance is amazingly close making this spot a great starting point for a day of exploring. Thank you!

We stayed at the Reclusive Moose cabins this June, and can't say enough about the property, location, and experience. To begin, Christie was always in contact with me in the months leading up to the trip, and Ryan stopped by while we were there to see how everything was going and to welcome us to the cabins. The cabin itself was comfortable, the decor was great, and had all the amenities we needed. There was a great binder filled with information about hikes, things to do, where to eat, etc. The cabin was very close to the park and the drive there was enjoyable. There is a grocery store, laundromat, and places to eat in Columbia Falls, which was also close to the cabin. Such an amazing experience, and we will definitely try to stay here when we return to Montana. Thank you, Christie and Ryan!

WOW this is a Great Place to get away

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is one of four 10 miles north of Columbia Falls and just 10 minutes from Glacier National Park. We used the location as our base. It was just far enough from park to get away from the tourist stuff. Columbia Falls nice friendly town with plenty place to eat. This is a very well run operation the owner operators are on top of every part of you stay. Cabin are immaculately cleaned and well kept. Pictures are accurate. And the price is right we say many motel rooms that were not very nice for more money. If you get a cheap rate somewhere in this area be very cautious.
