I'm a high end custom furniture, cabinet and home builder who loves to fish! I built this home to serve as the ideal retreat for fisherman and mountain bikers in summer, hunters in fall and skiers in winter.
Bronwyn Hennessy purchased this lodge in 2005
I built this home in the perfect location, just 10 minutes drive to downtown Bozeman and 20 minutes to the Gallatin River and Bridger Bowl Ski Area, the lodge is secluded, private and serene.
While staying on the property my wife and I hike, ski, bike and fish without ever having to get in a car! Just sitting on the deck in the summer sipping wine and listening to the creek is a nice way to relax at the end of the day.
Everyone in our family loved this property! It's a beautiful, very large, luxury cabin with what we felt was a perfect location. It's only about a 10 minute drive to town and approx. a mile from the Sourdough Canyon trailhead. The beds and furniture were very comfortable, and the property was clean. Since our stay was in November, we did not get to take advantage of the lovely outdoor spaces, but hope to during a future stay.
We had a great time on our girls weekend. Hand crafted beautiful stylish home that made everyone say wow as they entered. 7 minutes from Main Street made our weekend of shopping spa and Pilates a blast. Awesome hiking nearby. Very accommodating owners.
Just returned from an amazing 5 day trip in Bozeman and stayed at this Sourdough Canyon House. Perfect location with hiking trails, streams, rivers all around and not that far from town. The house was a 10+ and it was perfect for 3 couples. The house was in excellent shape and we all enjoyed it tremendously. This house is the perfect Montana place to stay with lots of hidden treats all around the property. The house was 5 stars and the area was 5 stars for all of us. The owners were great and accommodating. We all can't wait to go back and enjoy this house again.
Stayed at this beautiful house for a week. The only negative was that we had to leave. We liked the location since it was an easy drive to downtown Bozeman. A short walk down the road was the Sourdough Canyon trail which was great for a run or a hike. Thought all of the woodwork in the house was beautiful. The master bedroom was so comfortable. Never turned the television on in that room since we spent most of the waking hours outside in the back. Such a great kitchen that we only ate one meal in a restaurant the entire week. The sound system is great.
My wife, 14 month old, and I rented the lodge for a week. The gentleman who built the lodge did a stunning job. We spent 3 days roaming around MT and 3 days relaxing in the lodge. We pinned our daughter into the common area by using the baby gate and turning the bar chairs on their sides. It was fantastic to have a large common area where she could run around, we could read, or watch TV. They have a stereo set-up that allows you to play music in the two common rooms and out on the patio, grill area. We built a fire, roasted marshmallows, grilled Ahi Tuna steaks, and ate outdoors while listening to music. Sourdough hiking trail is right around the corner. Great for all ages and abilities. Just 10 minutes to main street. Costco was about 15-20 minutes away. I would definitely rent this house again for the three of us or ten people. The listing on VRBO is spot on, no issues or concerns with this property.
The home is beautiful. Should be in Architectual Digest. The craftsmanship is superb. My drawbacks were location (in suburbia and next to busy street. ) We were looking for the Montana out of city experience. I felt I left one city home to another. Secondly I was not expecting a business to run out of the attached work shop. Privacy was compromised. Equipment ,gas cans, and hardware on outside of workshop. Could not let our dogs run loose due to street and shop. We were looking for another type of adventure. Not for us. Lesson learned. This location and home is perfect for a business retreat or family get together. Location within 5 miles of down town Bozeman. Easy access.
