About the property

Lodge, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

This Sourdough Canyon lodge sits at the base of the Gallatin Mountains on the pristine waters of Sourdough Creek. The lodge is just 10 minutes from downtown Bozeman, Montana, 20 minutes from Bridger Bowl and world class trout fishing on the Gallatin, Madison and Yellowstone Rivers.

This luxury vacation lodge is an ideal one of a kind setting for a family or group vacation. This spectacular home along with the majority of the stunning furniture and custom cabinetry was built by the owner with loving attention to detail.

Nestled in secluded Sourdough Canyon, surrounded by old growth cottonwood and aspen groves, you will enjoy wildlife from every room, a giant back deck with two stocked trout ponds and the blue ribbon fishing of Sourdough Creek on the property.

The lodge sits just a few hundred yards from Bozeman Creek Trailhead which boasts miles of groomed cross country ski trails in winter and the best mountain biking and hiking in Gallatin Valley in the summer.

This lodge is comprised of 2 levels to maximize function and privacy. On the main level the Great Room enjoys nearly floor to ceiling southern facing windows with gorgeous light, a two story river rock fireplace and sumptuous leather furniture for relaxing by the fire or enjoying a movie. The large kitchen was designed with the chef in mind, with a six burner gas oven, ample counter space and every necessary appliance so guests may prepare gourmet meals with ease. Adjoining the Great Room and Kitchen is the Family Room with another TV and french doors opening onto the deck. One bedroom with full bathroom is on the main level with views of aspens and Sourdough Creek. Completing the main level is a generous mud room with plenty of storage for both winter and summer equipment and top of the line energy efficient washer and dryer.

Upstairs the master suite includes a large walk-in closet, king size bed, flat screen TV, windows overlooking the trout pond and creek, double shower head two person shower and giant tub with built in jets.

The other upstairs rooms consist of one suite with a king size bed and views of the entire Bridger Mountain range and the Bunk Room which sleeps 4 in handcrafted bunk beds. These rooms share a bathroom with double sinks and a large tub and shower.

This home comes with a property manager who will be there to assist you. She can provide you with a fully stocked kitchen upon your arrival and linen changes throughout your stay for an extra charge. Don't be afraid to ask her for anything else you may require!

About Bronwyn Hennessy

I'm a high end custom furniture, cabinet and home builder who loves to fish! I built this home to serve as the ideal retreat for fisherman and mountain bikers in summer, hunters in fall and skiers in winter.

Bronwyn Hennessy purchased this lodge in 2005

Why Bronwyn Hennessy chose Yellowstone Country

I built this home in the perfect location, just 10 minutes drive to downtown Bozeman and 20 minutes to the Gallatin River and Bridger Bowl Ski Area, the lodge is secluded, private and serene.

What makes this lodge unique

While staying on the property my wife and I hike, ski, bike and fish without ever having to get in a car! Just sitting on the deck in the summer sipping wine and listening to the creek is a nice way to relax at the end of the day.

Beautiful home in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Deer and wild turkey strolling through the yard. Enjoyed meeting the owner and seeing his workshop. Easy acces (10 minutes) to grocery store.

Suggestions would be more flatware in the kitchen and perhaps no flannel sheets on the bed in MBR when daytime temps into the high 80s.

Happy to have stayed in a very family friendly home that offered a peaceful vacation.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature

  • 5 of 5

We spent nearly a week at this beautiful property in early June. The interior is beautiful with plenty of room for a large group. It was clean and comfortable. That said, we were all drawn to the exterior of the house. Everything was lush and green. We saw deer and turkeys daily. There were lots of birds -- even ducks on the ponds. Our five-year-old grandchild enjoyed fishing and the older grandchildren preferred lawn games. Us old folks enjoyed relaxing on the patio while listening to the water rushing down the creek. There was something for everyone! When we needed to go in to Bozeman, everything was nearby and easy to reach. Now that we have enjoyed spring at this lovely property, we hope to spend some time there sitting in front of the fireplace and watching it snow!

Ridiculously awesome property and a stunning home

  • 5 of 5

This place has everything you could want, it was the perfect place to stay - in striking distance to downtown and right next to trail access. The ponds, stream and back porch give you plenty to do while around the place, and you can get anywhere you need to in downtown with a 15 min Uber ride. With trout in the ponds and deer and turkey tracking across the yard, it was a great MT experience. Highly recommended.

Absolutely Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this home for some winter fun while meeting up with friends and visiting our son at MSU. What a lovely home. The pictures don't do it justice. The finish work was breathtaking with all the unclaimed lumbar, beautiful wood and stone work. This huge home is very warm and cozy. We all slept very well and had plenty of room to hang out. The kitchen is well stocked. We had most of our meals in because we wanted to enjoy the home. The location is great. One easy hour to Big Sky ( fantastic skiing )and 10 minutes to downtown Bozeman. There is the Sourdough Canyon Trailhead just down the street, within walking distance.

I would highly recommend this house and hope to stay again in the future.
