About the property

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

Located on one of Massachusetts’s largest recreational lakes, Long Pond, this is a perfect vacation destination. Your hardest decision will be whether to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets from the deck over the water or the deck off the cottage. You can take a swim off your private dock or throw in a fishing line just steps away from your back door. Take a nap in the bunkhouse or sit back and watch the water planes fly by. Enjoy a waterside evening BBQ or a picnic lunch on the end of the large dock. If you fancy a canoe ride, you can do that too. Whatever your idea of a relaxing vacation is this beautiful cottage has it.

Located on a private road, the convenient South Eastern Mass position makes it a perfect spot for day trips. Cape Cod and Plymouth are just 30 minutes away and New Bedford is less than 15 minutes away. The Lakeville commuter rail stop makes historic Boston only an hour away, and Providence with all its fabulous restaurants is an easy 45 minute ride by car. Check out this year's Waterfire schedule at waterfire dot org.

Lakeville features easy access to the Provincetown ferry out of Plymouth, Woods Hole ferries to the islands and New Bedford ferries to the Cuttyhunk Island.

If shopping is more your cup of tea the Wrentham Outlets and Cape Cod Factory Outlet Malls are within a 30 minute drive and Antique Shops are scattered throughout the area.

For the golfers, Lakeville is home to five golf courses all within a 5 minute drive of the cottage.

The summer excitment and historic mansions of Newport, RI are within 30 minutes.

Beautiful and serene

  • 4 of 5

This vacation property was so cozy with the fireplace and the beautiful woodwork of the interior. The kitchen was spacious with beautiful updated counters, sink, and stainless steal stove and fridge. The front of the house that faced the lake was all windows to view the spectacular sunsets. It was very clean and had all of the little extras that you could possibly need. The property manager was nothing but friendly and helpful. The only reason that I did not rate it with five stars was because of the shower had very low pressure so I took baths for the rest of my stay but that was ok because there was plenty hot water to fill the deep and beautiful tub. I really hated to leave!

The perfect place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cottage! It's quaint, and warm, and we had plenty of space to relax here. This made for the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful town of Lakeville and to visit nearby Plymouth. We also loved being able to eat outside on the deck overlooking the water. Our host was perfect and very helpful.

Great Sibling's Weekend Location

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our sibling's weekend at this really adorable and adequate lakeside rental home. Having the living area open to the kitchen and front porch area was so great for just gathering and enjoying our family get together. We loved sitting in the porch area just over looking the lake and drinking our morning coffee's. It was cozy and met our needs in every way. We also enjoyed a rainy afternoon hanging with patrons of the Boston Tavern while we took in some food, beer and football. Thanks for helping us make some great family memories!

Nice property, not so nice accessibility

  • 3 of 5

Nice property directly on long pond with beautiful sunsets. House is decorated in a new cluttered, non matching style with antiques and pseudo antiques but grew on me the longer I was there. The main issue we had was the accessibility from parking. There was a serious hill down to the front door with 5 or 6 granite slabs as steps interspersed with 6 - 8 feet of gravel between them. Difficult to access for any one with any kind of handicap. No mention of difficult access in the property writeup. Won't be back because our 45 year old daughter has a balance handicap from a childhood tumor. Accessibilty determined the lost stars in the rating.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

The property was a perfect fit for our family. The advertisement was accurate and spot on. This is our second time staying at this location. The kayaking and canoeing was peaceful and devine. I would happily recommend this venue for anyone. This location was perfect for day trips with lots of local vendors and restaurants near by. It was like having a home away from home. Delightful!
