About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Comfortable, freshly remodeled adorable Morro Bay house. Relax in the living room with a warm, inviting fireplace with a glass of wine from a local winery after a day of strolling along the Morro Bay Embarcadero. Or, barbeque fresh fish caught that very day and enjoy your dinner on the deck surrounded by the lovely gardens. The house is decorated tastefully with clean lines throughout. The master bedroom is soothing and inviting, decorated in shades of sage, featuring a queen sized bed complete with an electric mattress warmer (perfect for the chilly evenings) with dual controls for each side. French doors lead out from the master bedroom to the deck and garden. The guest bedroom features twin sized beds with nostalgic chenille bedspreads, and the beds can be pushed together to form a larger bed for couples. The house is truly a peaceful retreat; one can feel all the tensions melt away when the fire is lit, and the candles are glowing. Morro Bay is a wonderful place to just unwind and enjoy the beautiful scenery - Morro Rock, Hearst Castle, the charm of Cambria, local wineries, and the Central California Coast landscape complete with wildflowers. For pet owners, there are plenty of pet-friendly outdoor eateries, as well as dog parks, and a wonderful dog beach. If you enjoy the sports of cycling, fishing, sailing, and definitely surfing, this is the place for you.

About The Owner

Mike is in the entertainment industry and Diane is a retired ballerina. We love to travel, especially Italy and we have two Old English Sheepdogs that go everywhere with us. We also love to swing dance and love big band music from the 1940's. Parliamo l'italiano!

The Owner purchased this house in 1995

Why The Owner chose Central Coast

After visiting Morro Bay on our honeymoon we fell in love with the area. This is where we can go with our dogs (they love it!), and relax and just unwind.

What makes this house unique

One of our favorite things is to go and have a wonderful breakfast at Frankie & Lola's Cafe on the Embarcadero - we bring the dogs, and their fried-green tomato eggs benedict is delicious! Afterwards, we walk along the Embarcadero with the dogs and enjoy watching the sea otters and their antics in the bay. The house is a short drive to the Embarcadero (5 minutes) or we'll take the dogs to the fabulous dog beach.

Nice and comfortable, quite area,

  • 5 of 5

Nice older two bedroom home clean with hardwood floors . Got there early and found maintenance people painting and cleaning, we let them continue and left to have lunch, the owner called me and apologized which wasn't necessary, and had a nice conversation. Loved the idea of having a nice place to go at the end of the day, with out puppies in tow. Thanks again. Joel and Janice

Perfect for our needs

  • 5 of 5

Loved our little cottage. Everything we needed and a great location for a two week stay for two of us. Diane was very responsive to our questions. We hope to be able to return next year.

Whirlwind College Tour

  • 5 of 5

What a delightful place to end our day after touring Cal Poly SLO. The house was the perfect size for my husband and I and our son. It was clean and spacious and the fireplace was a nice cozy touch. We were lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunset at the beach. If our son chooses Cal Poly SLO, we know where we will stay and next time we will bring the dogs! Thanks for sharing your home with us Diane!

We felt right at home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks in March and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Diane was very easy to work with and refunded our deposit within a day of us vacating the house. We loved the area and the weather was nicer than expected for this time of year. We would rent from Diane again if we return to this area!

Cozy home in a welcoming neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

This is a great little house! Very comfortable with a nice beach vibe that makes you truly feel like you are staying in a coastal town. If you are bringing your fur-child, the backyard is fully fenced with a nice table outside on the deck and the side yards are perfect for the puppies. It is a wonderful neighborhood- every time we took the dog out for a walk, every neighbor we saw said hello or wanted to chat. It made us really feel like we were part of the community. The neighborhood is hilly, so it offers great views (in addition to good cardio!) of "The Rock" and the ocean. There is a great park in the neighborhood (Del Mar Park) that is a 15 minute walk from the house. It offers fenced in dog areas for small and large dogs, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a playground for the kiddos. We also found a very nice paved walking trail at Cloisters Park (on the other side of Hwy 1) that is dog friendly, along with a dog friendly beach just north of the house off Hwy 1 (Diane left directions at the house). Everyone in Morro Bay seems to have dogs, and a lot of the restaurants in the Embarcadero area had outdoor seating that welcomed dogs. Be sure to check out all the sea otters while you are there!
