A private paradise that was a perfect ending to a perfect vacation.
We arrived after dark and the caretakers had every window in the house as a beacon for us to find our way around. Communication was excellent and the house was beautiful. At sunrise the next morning was when we got our first look at the amazing views. We had plenty of room for four couples. We didn't end up using the kitchen facilities to make meals as we decided to eat out for meals because the food in Belize is excellent. We ended up driving our rental car to Maya Beach to eat a couple of meals at Maya Beach Bistro and one meal at The Green Parrot. Both restaurants were awesome and our servers were great! We drove into Placencia which took about 25-30 minutes by car. We also drove about 25 minutes in the opposite direction to Che'il Maya Chocolate Factory and another 5-10 minutes past the factory to eat lunch at Maya Heights Restaurant which was also very good. Even though the house was in a residential area, we never felt like we were too far from good restaurants and activities. I also enjoyed the Ecofiltro Clay water filter that was in our unit. One of the kitchens had a dishwasher and the other full kitchen did not but it worked since we didn't really have dishes to wash. We brought our own games but there were puzzles and games for both adults and children available. The pool was refreshing and the hammock was comfortable. We didn't get a chance to use the kayaks since the water was a little rough the couple of days we had some time at the house to relax. Overall we really enjoyed Villa 99 and felt like we were on a luxury vacation. We hated leaving and hope we can come back some time in the future!
