About Gail and David Wailes
David has loved Lake Chelan since he was a young boy, visiting his Aunt an Uncle's cabin up on the Little Butte. He is a builder and bought the Lake house in 2007 with the hope of building the property into an even more grand and lovely place, and at the same time enjoying it while living there. He continues to work his magic and is always making some part of the property more beautiful. In 2008 Gail came along and ever since we have been going back and forth from Redmond WA. where we married in Aug. of 2010. Every season has it's loveliness and we are there as much as possible. We love to take our boat out in the summer months for excursions to Chelan, Wapato or Manson and especially for a cocktail cruise just before sunset. We enjoy walking our dog Sasha up to Fields Point Landing and always meet other dog walkers along the way. We hope that like us you enjoy all that Lake Chelan has to offer and you want to keep coming back too. Thank you David and Gail Wailes

The best of Lake Chelan ( out of town, but close enough to drive within 20 minutes)
My husband and I were looking forward to a week at our family's favorite destination that would accomodate all of us. This lakeside house was perfect! We were a total of 7 on this trip, from my father in-law, to our two sons in their twentys and their girlfriends. In past Summers, we have stayed in town, but this time, wanted more space and a place on the water to swim, fish and enjoy the beautiful view. This house had plenty of space for all of us, inside and out. The view is fantastic and relaxing, the swimming and fishing from the private dock was perfect! We ate all of our meals from the upper deck and spent most of our time outside. It was late morning routine to jump in the trucks and either go exploring, or go do a fun things that town has to offer, then head back to the house and spend a relaxing day swimming, fishing, reading and just enjoying. This is a great place for families/large groups in the perfect location to the Lake Chelan area.
Lake Chelan, (but away from the maddening crowd)
If you want to be in the middle of town with all the foot and car traffic....this is NOT for you. If you want to be away from the maddening crowd (but within about 15 minutes from it) this IS the place for you. I recommend visitors do not have walking disabilities. There are several flights of stairs to reach the dock & water from the home. I had knee surgery 4 months prior and did very well. The lake is COLD, the dock has stairs into the water and a diving board on a platform. Bring "floaties" and bring your dogs too. We had a golden retriever and a Yorkie. There's a couple of strips of lawn that are great for the beach chairs and for the dogs to roll & do what dogs do. (Please pick up after them of course) The hot-tub is very large and was a big hit with our 4 teenage girls. The main living area is cooled and has seating for a lot. There's also seating for 12 around the deck's dining as well as the indoor dining tables and more chairs provided on the deck as well. That was the size of our party..12. We even had some friends over one evening and it didn't impact the space available at all. The view from the deck is breathtaking! The kitchen is small. 1 or 2 max working in it at a time but....It is fully equipped. We used paper products for a couple days but decided to use their "dishes" & dishwasher after that to reduce garbage. Hauling the garbage up to the bins roadside was no problem. Just pop it in a car & zip it on up. The owners are lovely folks and are readily reachable via phone & are quick to help with any kind of "problem". (we had a temporary "glitch" with the garbage dumpster) The bedrooms got fairly warm, but still bearable and the sleeping area downstairs is "dorm-style" plus 1 bedroom. We put the teens down there along with a few willing adults. There's lots of parking for up to 5 vehicles...which is exactly what we had. We took trips into Chelan for wine-tasting, antiquing and site-seeing. The mountains are close by this property and we went on a 4wheel drive excursion for one day, even reaching snow level in July. Although we won't be in the country next summer, we will definitely keep this property on our list for revisiting.
My girlfriends and I stayed here for a Bachelorette party. The house slept 14 very comfortably. We were able to use the hot tub but the weather did not permit swimming. The views from the back porch were amazing. My only inconvenience was having to send all payments by check in the mail. Would be nice if they took another method of payment.
My sisters and their families came out to Seattle from New England for a family wedding. The following week we spent together in this very comfortable lakeside home. We were a total of 11 people, ages from 60 to 11. Plenty of room and privacy for everyone. Downstairs we called Kid Heaven - the room sleeps 6, plus a private bedroom. Mornings spent on the deck greeting the sun with coffee in hand. All meals taken on the long table on the top deck. The kids loved the diving board! And of course all of us loved the lake. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels and games. Owners very helpful and friendly. Would return in a heartbeat.
Perfect for Extended Family and 2 Great Dogs
This dog friendly, kid friendly, old people friendly, and very comfortable home was a really welcome treat for our week long family vacation this past July! Although directions to the home are clear, it's easy to get hung up on the steep and narrow roads that surround the property. They have a very, VERY, kind neighbor above who will assist when needed, but it's probably best to leave your boat or trailer up top and walk down if you're unsure of the location and parking accommodations. There's plenty of parking at the house for vehicles and we were able to rent a space for the boat trailer at 25 mile creek for about $5.00 a day.
There's 2 master bedrooms with ceiling fans on the main floor with a shared bathroom. The kitchen and main deck is also on the main floor which is where we spent most of our time when not sunbathing on the lawn or out on the water. The downstairs houses kids and then some! Our kids and cousins (ages 10-21) had a wonderful time with the board games and comfortable sleeping accommodations! There's a shared bathroom downstairs and a separate queen bedroom that worked great for my in laws. Washer and dryer too.
This is an AWESOME rental for a larger group! We met the owners and their dog during our stay and they were very kind and engaging, happy to hear feedback.
We all tidied up nicely prior to departure and simply followed the rules.
Not long afterward we got a lovely note from the owners and our full deposit back.
Perfect for a large group
I stayed at this house with a large group of friends during a summer weekend in July. The house is right on the water with your own personal dock and diving board:) There are three decks in addition to the lower dock with great seating area large enough for big groups. The decks are absolutely amazing! Enjoying dinner on the deck with beautiful view of Lake Chelan with all your friends are some of my favorite memories from this trip. The house is far enough away from town to feel like you have your own personal piece of the lake but close enough driving distance to do activities in town. The inside of the house is a little dated and more bedrooms/bathrooms would have been nice for a group our size but our group hung out a majority of the time outside by the lake so this wasn't a huge issue. The owners were quite accessible via email/phone and responsive to our groups need. They even let us bring extra dogs! Would definitely rent again!
