Room is okay, but the view is fantastic

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Room was small, but met our needs. I was unaware there would be construction during our stay, so it was annoying having to listen to saw cutting during the day and tripping over construction workers and equipment. The room smelled of mold/dampness when we arrived, and the bathtub could use a good scrubbing. The keypad for the door did not work, so we had to use a key that we left in the lockbox all week. Maintenance came out to fix it unannounced. It worked once after they left and it was broke again. The view was spectacular. Well worth the minor hiccups.

We had a great time as the location was perfect, your home was clean and stocked with the right supplies and most importantly, had a great view of the ocean!! We also appreciated having air conditioning. Location was great as we spent one day hiking Napli coast, one day in the west side of the island at Waimea Canyon and the third day at the arboretum. Thank you!!

Islander on the Beach A

This location was incredible and right on the water as pictured (I always worry it will be a camera trick.) We loved the 3rd-floor location. The unit had AC, but we did not really need to use it, we were able to leave the back door open all night and listen to the waves as we went to sleep which is a most beautiful opportunity. If the room was too warm, we used the fan or opened the front door for a bit and the breeze blew through nicely. The room was the perfect size for two of us for the week. The cleanliness was not perfect, and the room a little tired, but, for the price, which we compared to other nearby resorts, it was 100% reasonable. Further, we found the location in Kapa'a to be also perfect as we were able to travel easily to each side of the island as we wished without too long of driving time. All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay, we loved the island of Kaua'i, and we would totally recommend this particular unit to anyone traveling to Kaua'i.

Great view and central location on Kauai

I enjoyed the location and the view. I didn't enjoy the bed, it was a Purple Memory foam style, not to my liking. Had a few maintenance issues that were fixed after notifing management. (No big deal to me). Everything about the room was fine. I was concerned about the lack of cleanliness.

Cold Winter Escape

This was our first time ever in Hawaii. We chose to stay on only one island and relax. We stayed for 2 wonderful weeks After traveling all over the island, we feel staying in Ka'apa and at the Islander was the best spot we could've chosen. Not too crowded but all conveniences nearby, along with the breathtakinf beauty all around. We highly recommend!!

Gorgeous View

We loved our stay at the Islander! The view was fantastic! It was a close drive to everywhere on the island as you are right in the middle of the island. You are close to shops and beach access was fantastic! We ate most meals from our lanai which was spectacular! It definitely is a challenge cooking in a room without a kitchen but we made due. A skillet for cooking on the side grille would be great. We booked the condo for the view. We had some issues with the fridge and Garden Island properties was fairly quick in helping us getting that remedied. The grounds are run by Aston and they won't help you at all with anything. They actually lead the conversation with "Are you with Aston or VRBO?". They are very rude if you're with VRBO. This was the only complaint was our treatment by the Aston staff. Everything else was great! Mahalo! Thank you for a great stay! Aloha!

I would say this is the best location so the north and south side of the island are more easily accessible. We will definitely stay again!

Perfect area, great view

The location was excellent - just behind Coconut Marketplace and close to some great restaurants. The view was amazing - ocean views with daily sunrises is hard to beat! BUT... the unit was not as pictured. The bed frame was different than the photos and was lower. The wall just above the frame was really dirty and needed a good scrubbing and paint. There was a large hole in a floor tile that I had stepped on "just right", hurting my toe in the middle of the night. The refrigerator had a half bottle of booze left behind by the previous guest. The dining table was replaced with a pub height table, not the standard height that was pictured. I have a bad back and couldn't get up on the chairs. (I wouldn't have booked it if I had known this) The towels were shown as white, but they were light brown and navy. Maybe not a big deal, but my OCD struggles with towel colors. Overall interior felt dull compared to the photos. I notified the management company, and was offered a refund, but we only had 2 nights left and finding a new place likely wouldn't have been easy.

Even better than the pictures!

We loved the unit! The view of the ocean was even better than the pictures. It was centrally located. The property overall was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. It was great to have beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler to use too! The pool was nice and the bartenders were all friendly and there was a nice crowd for happy hour specials. We would stay here again if we go back! We loved it!

Best vacation of my life!

Amazing - that's all I can say! Everyone who visits Kauai knows about its beautiful sights and hidden gems, but this Vrbo was perhaps the greatest find I came across, and I feel lucky to have stayed here during my week on the island. The beach views were stunning and the location provided easy access to both the south and north sides of the island. The locals, whom I met at the beach bar, Napali Brewing Co, and Big Wave Dave’s, were also so friendly and gave me great recommendations for things to see and do! So put yourself out there and you’ll be sure to make friends and great memories! I also recommend getting a rental car and then easily park in the lot or by Coconut marketplace to get the full island experience. I 100% would recommend this place to anyone else and can’t wait to be back! :)

Everything was great. The toilet handle fell off so we put a new one on and put new batteries in the AC remote. Great location and fun times. Thanks a bunch.

While the unit is showing it’s age, the suite was clean and check in was a breeze. It is definitely time to replace the microwave as it is rusting from the inside out.

Hearing the crashing waves day & night brings such peace...one of my favorite things in the world. This property delivered. There is a beautiful & well maintained walking path in both directions that extends for miles. Shopping & dining are within walking distance in the Coconut Marketplace. The actual condo could use a little updating & replacement of a couple of items (for example, the damaged & hanging lampshade). The bed was comfortable enough (that is an important factor). Overall, I was paying for the view & location, so the interior was minor in comparison! I would stay here again & recommend it to others (& have already done so).

Beautiful grounds and great location. Condo itself was very clean but the furnishings (furniture, kitchen tools, bed linens) were “tired and worn”. Great to have Lava Lava Beach Club next door for sunset dinners!

Most beautiful view waking to the sunrise every morning. Not overly crowded. Quiet. Easy walk to coffee shop, restaurants, market, shopping. We’ll be back.

Condo Vacation Rental in Kapa'a Area

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife and I enjoyed our stay in the Garden Island Properties. It was our first time to Kauai and wanted a place that gave us access to the north side of the island as well as the south side. Poipu Beach is about a 35 minute drive to the south. Hanalei Beach is about a 40 minute drive to the north. The property itself was beautiful. It was right on the coast and gave us balcony views of the ocean. Every morning we woke up and enjoyed the sunrise over the ocean. The property is located next to the Coconut Marketplace which provided easy, convenient access to a grocery store, restaurants, shopping and a farmers market. The property is just a short drive from Kapa'a proper with other grocery stores, restaurants and touristy options. The condo was clean and provided everything we needed, even a little kitchenette with dishes and silverware. The property management was very easy to communicate with and always very responsive to us reaching out. We would definitely recommend this property to others and would like to stay here again!

We stayed for 7 days… couldn’t have been happier! The view is even better than shown in the listing. Literally an unobstructed view of the ocean looking east for an awesome sunrise!
