The apartment is a home from home to escape the buzz of central London. Please see our website Londonsuite . This huge central triplex apartment of 950 sq ft sleeps up to 7 and is the only flat in a historical London building in the heart of Kennington, central London.

Designed by a famous Irish fashion designer with 5 star contemporary comfort. The apartment is ideal for families, has 2 large double bedrooms and a large sofa bed in the living room. One room with two extra large singles and a super king-size bedroom with a luxurious bathroom, and a huge rainfall shower.

The only flat in the building so peace is guaranteed, yet 10 minutes walk away is bustling Borough Market, BIG BEN, the Tate modern and the London Eye.

Central London is very close. Kennington subway is 5 mins walk away and locally there are many great Old English pubs and restaurants nearby to amuse you.

Transport around London could not be better with subways , buses and trains all within 4 mins walk, and Big Ben only 10 mins walk.

I am an Interior and Fashion designer and with my husband Matthew ( a food gourmet) we have recently renovated this wonderful old listed building. Attention to detail was of utmost importance to us.

We have created a home away from home for people to visit london.

It is a large apartment and we have called it the London suite.

We have put in a large bathroom with an extra large shower to relax in. Our decked roof terrace is perfect for a romantic dinner

Why Matthew and Helen chose Walworth

We chose to renovate this flat here because it is perfect for a fun and relaxed visit to central london. It is a local area and is a good way to see the real London. We are close to the river Thames and all of central London, only 15 mins walk from Big ben which is a great walk across Westminster bridge.

The Flat is in a historical London building with its own private entrance and security alarm. We have many good restaurants and authentic English pubs around and we are a short walk to The Old Vic theatre the Southbank and the National Theatre which has some of the best music and theatre in the country.

Borough food market 10 mins walk away, is a gastronomic treat full of Organic and gourmet foods.

Bermondsey antique market has been going for 200 years and is about 15 minutes walk and is full of bargains on a friday morning

With a family of 5 we needed separate beds for each of our three adult children, ages 25, 23 & 20 and this place fit the bill, PERFECTLY! Great flat with a bedroom on each of three levels so we each had plenty of privacy. The large sofa bed on the first floor had an extra mattress pad to put on top of the sofa pull-out, which my daughter said made a comfortable difference, 2 double beds on the second floor bedroom for our older sons and a master with a king-sized bed on the third floor for Mom and Dad. Honestly, I was worried with just one bathroom but its spaciousness and 3rd floor privacy was more than adequate and presented none of the problems that had concerned me before we arrived. 2nd floor kitchen is well equipped and very functional. We stopped by the convenient TESCO Market ea. night on the way home from the Kennington tube station for groceries to make a big breakfast before ea. day of our London sight-seeing. Breakfast was the only meal we ate there. There is a small outdoor patio with table & chairs which would be terrific in good weather, but we were there in winter so it was not as useful for us, but provided the extra chairs we needed around the breakfast table ea. morning and for discussing our schedule together ea. night for the next day. One point that others have noted is that the DRYER function of the washer/dryer combination really doesn't work like our US dryer but a drying rack was available so air-drying wet clothes worked seamlessly for us. No lift in the flat, but stairs are quite manageable with three men to do any of our heavy lifting for large bags.

Location is very convenient for using the TUBE! Just a 7 minute walk to the Kennington or Elephant & Castle tube stations. The Kennington station has a lift-so we recommend that one if you are coming in with large luggage.

Can't say enough about our Irma, the property manager and our hosts, Matthew & Helen. Our initial arrival was much later than we expected and Irma was waiting there for us w/o complaint. Our departure the last day was in the evening and Irma's accommodations for our luggage after check-out time while the flat was being cleaned and prepped for the next guests went above and beyond. This only cemented our feeling that this was a perfect fit for our needs and we can recommend this flat without the slightest hesitation. Very accessible, helpful and accommodating! Overall, a great place/location for our trip to London- highly recommend it!

All had fabulous trip

Easy and quick communications with Matthew, found the property easily and Irma was waiting to show us the flat when we dropped off our bags. With 5 of us staying there was plenty of room within the flat, good kitchen space, ample room in bedrooms and great shower. Flat central enough with easy tube links to everywhere (Kennington station 5 mins). Thanks really enjoyed our visit.

Perfect, perfect, perfect!!

I searched for a long time to find a place that was not only close to nearby places but something that would be comfortable for our family. This place was exactly what I wanted! It was so modern and cozy, having everything you could possibly need. The tube station is literally down the street and there are tons of restaurants and a grocery store nearby! Matthew and his manager Irma went above and beyond for us, checking in on us throughout the week to see if we needed anything and even helping us order a taxi at 4:30am to get back to the airport! If you need a nice place to stay that's affordable, choose this one!

We stayed at this property in October 2017 while travelling through Europe. We are a Canadian family of two adults and three children aged 9-13.

Meetup: Irma met us promptly at the expected time and was gracious and helpful. She showed us around and explained the apartment.

Apartment: The apartment was a multi-level apartment with 3 separate floors beginning one floor from ground level. There were fresh sheets and the apartment was well organized. We really liked the look and feel of the apartment, although the apartment was bit more run down than we were expecting with stains on the carpets and slight feeling of regular use. The beds were comfortable and this is important for us. We really enjoyed the shower which had a large rainfall head.

Amenities: There was a small fridge, microwave, a combination washer/dryer that struggled to dry in reasonable time, all the dishes we needed, and TV and cable box that could support Netflix.

Nearby: The apartment was close to restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores. It is just a few minutes from two different Metro lines. There was an attached restuarant in the same building that provided an amazing breakfast for us.

Less than perfect: The carpets were a bit stained, and the place was slightly run down, but this didn’t affect our enjoyment after the first few minutes. This may be true of all London apartments, but we can only judge based on our own experiences. Maybe replacing a couple of carpets would restore it to its former glory. The dryer was not effective at drying compared to our own equipment at home. The apartment was not stocked with a coffee maker and coffee ready to make for the tired traveller.

Overall: We would recommend this apartment, despite the less than perfect observations above. It was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. We were lucky to have such a great place to stay.

Amazing Place

Our family of 7 really enjoyed our time in London and had a wonderful stay. The owner, Matthew, was responsive to all of our questions and had everything laid out for us when we arrived. The apartment was in a great location, close to public transportation. There were great restaurants to suit every taste within walking distance and a nice small grocery store as well. We loved the terrace in the back and had great breakfasts there before leaving every day. The beds were comfortable and well suited for our family and the bathroom was super spacious. The kitchen was lovely and well equipped. We would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay again should we be so blessed to visit London a second time.

We really apriciated that we are able to check-in in really short time, our reservation was last minute after we had some trouble with different apartment-so that was really helpful! Matthew's place is really cosy, comfortable and clean. Location is suitable, underground station - just few minut walk. Matthew and Irma was kind and hospitable. It is perfect place to stay:)

Car: not necessary

We are very close to the center. You can walk to Big Ben, the London eye , The Old Vic theatre, The River Thames , Borough market, the Imperial war museum ,Tate modern all just minutes away. Bermondsey antiques market is nearby .Boat rides down the Thames are at Westminster pier.

We have a fully stocked supermarket 3 mins away for groceries. Kennington subway/tube station is a short walk and there are trains and buses to all over London from just outside. The house is really central!

Great restaurants and old English pubs are nearby. All very good value and not tourist prices ! The best sushi is just below !

We love the area and think it is one London's undiscovered gems.... a great place to escape the buzz of London.
