Overview

About the property

3 bedroom camp (cottage) with view of sheltered bay on Lake Champlain.

Relive those lazy days of yesteryear by the lake! This cozy 3-bedroom 1-bath seasonal camp on Malletts Bay holds all the charm and character of days gone by while including the comforts of home. Relax and watch the boats go by from the screened-in porch or take a dip in the lake off the private raft. The raft is also perfect for fishing or sunning. Blue Camp can sleep up to 8 (counting the sofa sleeper), although some guests enjoy sleeping on the screened porch for more of an outdoor experience. Limited dock space and mooring is also available for guests that want to bring their boat along. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with wood-stove for those cool nights. Quiet location is on a dead end dirt road within walking distance from the general store. For lakeside or Church Street dining, Burlington is accessible by bike (30-45 min on the community bike path), boat, or automobile (15 min). For the more adventurous, several zip lines are within 90 minutes and various restaurants are available on the NY side of Lake Champlain which can be crossed with your boat or by ferry. Bikes (4), kayaks (2), paddle board and small row boat are available for use. Other attractions include hiking trails, mountain climbing, museums, wineries, boat tours, drive-in movie theatre and more.

Wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is an old camp, and it never claims to be fancier than an old camp, but it is very comfortable and very pleasant.

Definitely a good value.

vintage lakeside camp

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, laid-back lakeside "camp" with a wonderful screen porch facing the water. Though small, the rooms were cozy and comfortable with vintage charm throughout. We stayed for 4 nights as a prelude "vacation" before our daughter's wedding and though the kitchen was tiny, it was remarkably well stocked and we managed to make a 9 tiered wedding cake and other assorted wedding food during our stay. The host helped us settle in, gave us tips on where to explore and let us run loose with his kayaks, paddle board and ping pong table. We loved every minute of our stay!

Relaxing vacation in picture-perfect spot

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at the Blue Camp. The view from the camp is simply gorgeous, and our favorite moments were spent sitting in the screened-in porch admiring the view. The house is very well equipped and the property owner went out of his way to be helpful and courteous. The rustic nature of the house is part of its charm and contributes to the laid-back feel of the place. We enjoyed a restful week at the Blue Camp and didn't want to leave.

Great for the soul

  • 5 of 5

Our second summer week long stay at the Blue Camp was even better than our first stay. The camp is just perfect, has everything you need to relax and have fun. We loved using the kayaks, paddle board, bikes, ping pong, and badminton set. The kitchen is great, we used the gas grill almost every night. John is a gracious host and takes great care of the Blue Camp. We hope to go back again next summer.

Paradise on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time that we didn't want to leave. Beautiful view of the lake right from the living room and the huge screened-in porch with coffee every morning out there. Very peaceful, comfy and clean with plenty to do. My husband tried fishing, our son the paddle board and played ping pong. Drove into Burlington which is beautiful , also. Our landlord, John, I spoke to on the phone and was very, very nice, friendly and very accommodating. We look forward to going back again. We highly recommend "Blue Camp". It is wonderful!! Thank you so much, John.

Sunset Drive-In Theatre is 2 miles away. Lake Champlain is the largest freshwater lake in the United States outside of the Great Lakes and has many picturesque islands and coves to explore. The Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York offer many hiking trails and scenic drives. With all of its natural beauty, low population density (second least populated state after Wyoming), and opportunities to experience the outdoors, Vermont is a popular destination spot for tourists (tourism is Vermont's largest industry).
