Excellent property!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent property - very family oriented, good kitchen with plenty of refrigerator space for five families. Likewise, the many bedrooms supported our group of 18. Owner was extremely responsive. Short walk to the beach coupled with great pool maintenance made for a positive family vacation experience. Highly recommend this property.

Our week at Magnolia Hill

  • 5 of 5

We stayed the first week of August and were very satisfied. Plenty of comfortable beds and lots and lots of extras. Beach chairs and umbrellas were supplied as well as oodles of beach toys and pool toys, wagon, stroller, baby bed and seats, pack and play. This eliminated us bringing this with us which was a big help and space saver. There were 15 of us, but room for more. We would rent this house again and would recomend to anyone with large families and children. Jennifer was great to answer all our questions!!

Having a large extended family with up to 15 people of all ages (6-69), makes finding a beach home that can accommodate us very difficult. Magnolia Hill is perfect! It has a good combination of bunks beds, rooms with queen beds, and rooms with king beds to fit all the differing needs of any family. Most of the bedrooms are on the first floor which is great for the families with kids. Second floor has two more bedrooms, kitchen, and great room. The kitchen has all the amenities needed for "eating in" including two refrigerators which was awesome. Also, there are two grills which really helps when making large family meals. One of the most frequently used areas was the screened in porch. It was nice to sit outside and not be bothered by insects. The house is well equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, and a wagon for hauling things to the beach which was GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! While the first walk to the beach seemed long, in reality, it was fine. We enjoyed the family atmosphere of Gulf Trace, bike riding, ice cream truck (twice a day) and quiet nature of the area. The pool is nice with lounging chairs that got a lot of use from our family of teenagers! I would have liked the pool to be a little cooler but it didn't bother the teenagers. We had one maintenance item come up during our stay (ceiling fan that didn't work) and it was handled quickly with no issues. Finally, the owner, Jennifer was great! She answered any questions we had and made us feel at ease which is what you should feel while vacationing!!! THANKS!

My husband and I decided to treat our five children, their spouses and our ten grandchildren ranging from ages 4 months to 17 years old. Finding the right home was daunting to say the least. What I didn't want was several rooms with twin beds or bunk beds because of my adult children. This home was perfect. All adults had comfortable (very comfortable) beds. There is a bunk room which the older grandchildren used and there were rooms with two queens where families with younger children stayed. There are five bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs. Downstairs 4 are ensuite, one is close to a common bathroom (which they claimed and everyone else stayed out of it. Upstairs the master is ensuite and there is a bathroom across the hall from the other.

Another great thing was there are two full size refrigerators and a small one down stairs. We used the one in the kitchen as a communal fridge where anyone could use what was in it. The others each family claimed a shelf for special food items. The kitchen is WELL equipped. Something I rarely see when renting homes. There are two large dining tables and we enjoyed being able to sit to dinner as a family.

There are stairs. When you enter the house you will have to climb stairs to get to the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom. There is a fabulous screened in porch! We spent many mosquito-free evenings there. Although it didn't rain while we were there, this would be a great place to get some outdoor time in a downpour. The grills work great. At the back of the house is a shuffleboard. My boys and the kids really enjoyed that.

One thing I was concerned about was parking. To our delight we found that six full sized cars fit just fine! The pool was nice in the evenings and mornings. It was a little warm in the afternoon, but I imagine in the fall it is fabulous. This home is equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, every beach toy imaginable- a boat load of shovels, pails, castle molds, a few boogie boards, kites, water guns, even some googles.

This is a bike friendly community so bring you bikes. Also, there are a lot of cute shops within walking distance. Finally, the owner, Jennifer, is very friendly and helpful. She patiently answered all my questions and was quick to help me when I needed it.
