With a west facing balcony, unit 606 affords the most beautiful sunset views of all condos! You can't beat the sights you'll take in here, everyone in the family will be dazzled by the colors the Florida sun emits when setting. Regardless the time of year, you're guaranteed to be taken by at least one sunrise or sunset during your stay in Islander 606. To the North there's a lovely view of the Intercoastal Waterway, something that comes as just a bonus. With the bedding arrangement in this condo, you're well-suited for a family with a couple of teenagers who require individual beds larger than bunks. The layout of this condo is also a plus for this exact same situation, take a look at the floorplan. The master bedrooms leads to the Side-view Living room while the other bedroom leads to the dining room area. Each bedroom has access to the entry hallway for convenience. There's a laundry area with washer and dryer for an even more homey feel of comfort.

The sleeping arrangements in this unit are as follows: Master bedroom - 1 King bed, 2nd bedroom - 2 Full beds, 1 Sleeper sofa in the living room. This unit sleeps 6.

Islander Beach Resorts have access to one of Okaloosa Island's largest gulf-side pools, a shuffleboard court, and a barbeque grill area. A quick stroll across the boardwalk puts you right on the beach! All guests have Free High-Speed Internet access in their unit, as well as wireless Internet access in our lobby..  
Islander Beach Resort has a two vehicle limit.
The pool is heated the week of Thanksgiving and beginning the week of Christmas until March 31st.

The living room was spacious and welcoming. Kitchen was the perfect size with all the necessary amenities. The view from the patio was amazing. The picture on the profile doesn't do it justice. We enjoyed out time there and would definitely come back.

Great time

Amazing view, location and clean. Our family of 5 (adult sized) slept comfortably and enjoyed an amazing week of baseball and hanging out together.

Beautiful Quiet Property

The views are amazing and the condo has a great layout for a family or friends trip. Brooks & Shorey Resorts is fantastic to work with and we’re extremely responsive every step of the way. Loved my stay. Right on the beach. Beautiful view. Very clean.

Great place it had pretty decent size rooms two full bathrooms. Large living area all very clean. The kitchen was small but we mostly grilled and the grill and picnic tables were super close to the room just rightdownstairs. The walk to the beach was very short and with the complementary umbrella and chairs we didn't have to bring much. The balcony was long but not very wide, but had a great view.. The dryer took awhile to dry the clothes and the elevator was slow but other than that this is an amazing spot. Will definitely recommend.

Furniture shows a little wear, but that was to be expected. All the attractions are within a mile or so. Very Nice We will be back for sure!

Overall review

As far as the condo, it was clean except for the couch. When we pulled the cushions for the pull out bed we noticed the strong smell of urine. Notified Mandy, which I assume was the site manager. We were unable to use the couch during the stay as nothing was done about the smell. She did say they would deep clean, but this was never done. Also the first day, the elevator door jammed and we were stuck for about 10 minutes. There was no answer when pressing the emergency button. My 8yr old daughter was terrified and crying. I did call for help and HOA was notified. It finally started moving again and we were able to get off.

Interesting layout

It's a two bedroom (great). Very small kitchen (fine, we're there for the beach not the size of kitchen). Two doors to enter the condo. I was a 2nd door to exit the condo directly opposite from the main entry door. Maybe this two-bedroom use to be two separate one-bedroom units that they knocked out the wall separating them to create a new condo. I don't know anything for sure, just my guess.

Great property

We really enjoyed our stay here. This place was immaculate. The beds were comfy. The kitchen had everything you need. There’s a washer and dryer in the unit, which isn’t always the case in this area. The only small complaint is the tv in the main room is old. We like to watch a few shows or a movie as a family. No way. The amount of commercials is ridiculous. There was no way to hook up Netflix or any streaming, that we could see. Seriously, get a new one in there. Cut cable and buy a tv w the savings.

Reviewer Comments: Nice unit, but here is what you won't see in the description: no master bathroom (the front door is between the master bedroom and hall bathroom), only room for one person in the tiny kitchen, furniture looks nice but the sofa is the only comfortable lounging place, the tv's are small, the biggest problem is the Hvac: the thermostat only allows you to set the temp, not select heat or cool - the heat automatically came on during our final two nights with the only option being heat or nothing, we could not turn AC back on. Would not rent again.

Loved the updated decor and the large living space; however, the kitchen is only large enough for one person which is inconvenient. The elevator was out of commission (replacing the flooring) starting mid-week so coming and going was challenging. Moving out was not fun without the elevator!! The WiFi is very slow and we had issues using the DVD player. Would suggest more comfortable seating for more people .... only have small sofa and one recliner. The red/black accent chairs are o.k. from a comfort perspective.

Not impressed

This property looked nothing like the rental listing. It was okay and worked for us for the week, but I thought it was extremely overpriced for what we got. Condo was very outdated, that couch needs replaced, it has seen better years. It had more of that hotel feeling rather than a homey condo which all have felt that way in the past 4 years we have stayed on okaloosa island. There are not near enough pots and pans if you plan to stay in and cook a few nights, and the noise level at night especially was ridiculous. You can hear everything below you, above you, next door. You can hear a pin drop. That was also what reminded me of a hotel. I would possibly rent from brooks and shorey again, but not at this particular condo building, and I would hope the pictures would be true to what the condo would look like. We did love the pool, the beach access, and the location with it being outside of the craziness of Destin.

Enjoyed our stay

The Brooks and Shorey staff were very easy to work with and very friendly as well. Just a few concerns: The dishwasher was not even put inside the cabinet so when you opened the door to load the dishes it would tilt over. You could see the metal brackets of the dishwasher that were supposed to be used to keep it in place. The bathrooms are very small and the master bathroom is not connected to the master bedroom. The kitchen is small as well. The pictures made the rooms look smaller. It worked fine for my family because we were there for a softball event so we didn't spend much time in the condo. We really enjoyed the beach chair service and having two FREE chairs provided daily. Usually you have to pay for them. Overall, I would recommend the property because of the good location, beach chair, and the nice staff at the desk and the property management company.

Didn't Come Close to Actual Discription

Good: Location and beach. The beach chair service is a great service. Wifi bandwidth in the unit was very good. Closet space adequate. The balcony view had view of ocean at an angle. Not so great: Kitchen was tiny, only one person at a time. Pots and pans were worn and warped not heating evenly on glass range. Bathrooms were tiny with minimal storage for toiletries for even one person much less two. The one couch was well worn and cushions didn't stay in place. Only one chair faces TV so constantly moving furniture around. The laundry room had no curtain or door and had a random locker on the floor, paint cans and a bag with a questionable comforter in it (couldn't tell if it was clean). All of that should have been cleaned out to make room for luggage storage and beach gear. Popcorn ceiling paint was cracked and in some places hanging down. Complex, in general, is older, but they are slowly renovating it. Overall, the unit was just worn and cheap. Needs a remodel.

Nice condo

This was a nice condo for the price. Jessica at the office was great and even let us check in a little early the day we arrived. Pros: I really liked that the beach chair and umbrella was complimentary each day of our stay. I also got a free adult ticket for the Waterpark through the office concierge. Cons for the area: We went the week of July 4th so traffic into Destin and on the strip was awful! Also, we had a 2 hour wait for all the good restaurants so if you go, I sugget you make a reservation or go early, around 4pm. Cons for the room: The dryer did not work at all so we had to dry our stuff on the balcony. Also, the AC worked great for the master bedroom, but my daughter and friends stayed in the other room and they said it was really warm. They didn't have ceiling fans in any of the rooms. The table in the kitchen was nice, but as soon as we sat down, the table leg fell off. Overall, it was a nice stay. The beach and water was beautiful. Also, everyone on the hotel staff was super friendly. It was my daughter's birthday and the woman at the front desk gave her free popcorn. Check in/out process was easy.
