Wonderful stay in Bass Harbor. House was exactly how it was described.

Check in was so simple, kitchen was equipped with all the amenities as described. WiFi was great in the house but a little weak when on the deck. We were close to Bar Harbor, but Bass Harbor had great stores, restaurants and cafes. Hiked a number of trails close to the house. Just a short walk to the lighthouse.

Awesome house on the water

This house sits a few steps from the water. Beautiful views from the deck and from the living room. Spacious, equipped with all the amenities. Close to Bar Harbor. The description on line was exactly how the house was. Washer and dryer were a plus for us. Would stay there again.

A beautiful peaceful stay

Our family loved this house. The views from the deck were beautiful and it was so peaceful sitting there watching the boats go by and listening to the waves. The kids loved exploring the rocky beach. The house was clean and well maintained and had everything we needed.

Wonderful quiet house

Off the beaten path. Wonderful scenery and so quiet. Easy drive to Acadia National Park visitors center. The Bass Harbor lighthouse a very easy walk, as well as some Acadia trails.Great restaurants near by. I would definitely rent again.

Unbeatable Location

Incredible setting with breathtaking views. Great location. House is well set up. Be aware that there is no air conditioning and upstairs rooms are quite warm in the summer, even with windows open. Floor fans are provided. We would love to stay here again. Really was wonderful.

Perfect View

We loved it all. The bathrooms were fully stocked with at least a week of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap. The kitchen had coffee filters, wine and bottle openers, oils, salt, pepper, plastic baggies, foil, and plastic wrap. All the appliances worked great. The housekeeping was terrific - not a spider web or dust to be seen. The view of the ocean is wonderful and the deck has comfortable chairs. We spent hours out there. The pictures on the site don’t do it justice. The propane tank grill is perfect and we used it a few times. We walked the rocky beach at dusk - bring flashlights. The drive into the house was in the woods and super peaceful. Bring a soft-sided cooler if you are traveling by plane, as it’s nice to stash a few cold drinks and sandwiches in the car. The house didn’t have a cooler to borrow. The house size, layout, private and beautiful views, location, well stocked kitchen, and cleanliness make this a perfect home when you stay in Acadia.

Summer’s finest

This is the quintessential stay for all who are weary seeking restorative balm for the soul. Surrounded by nature at its showiest, from the scent of the balsam pines on a morning stroll, to the majestic sunsets in all her varied displays of colors, it embraces your five senses however you want to experience it. The porch deck has the views of the rising moon as the sun sets. You can hear and see the waters ebbs and flows as the tides obey their daily dance. Walks along the rocky sea shore demands your attention to see how nature molds the elements to create the varied surroundings that can only draw from an observer a sense of wonderment. The homestead itself has all the comforts and amenities worthy of any summer ‘rusticator’. It’s a jewel of a find.
