You’ll feel right at home from the moment you enter this quaint, spacious, homey, non-smoking duplex unit built in 1998 and remodeled in 2013. Luxurious bedding, tasteful furnishings, natural wood accents, granite counters, and saltillo tile floors with radiant heat welcome you, while a wall of south-facing windows flood the vaulted great room with light. There are great views of the Butte from the front porch and rear balcony.

The open kitchen/ dining / living floor plan on the main level lends itself to memorable gatherings of family and friends. The dining table seats 10. Your kids- young and old alike- will love the loft. The large south-facing balcony-deck off the main level has great views and is ideal for sunning, reading, or cooking out. There is an even larger deck on the ground level that accesses the back yard. The lower level has two private bedrooms with queen beds that share a bath. A second full bath and sleeper sofa are on the main level, while the loft has two queen beds and it's own half bath.

There are three TVs/two VCRs/one DVD player, and a large video library means you won't have to rent movies. The stereo has a docking station for your ipod.

Conveniently located in town, just two blocks from the free shuttle that takes you on the 10 min. ride (last stop going, first stop returning) to the ski area, this duplex condo is an easy five to ten minute walk from Elk Avenue restaurants and shopping. It's four blocks from the town park/playscape where outdoor concerts are held.

Kid-Friendly: Our kids love it, and yours will too! It's 1/2 block from a brand new modern playscape with climbing boulder, and 1/2 mile from a BMX park. There's a pack'n'play crib, child car seat, and a trunk full of toys and kid's videos. See if they can find the 'secret view' of the Butte from inside the condo...

Why Michael Mouw chose Crested Butte Area

I started coming to CB in 1992 to ski, and enjoyed it so much I kept coming back. When I started looking at real estate, it soon became clear that the place to be was in town (vs. up in Mt CB) close to restaurants, shopping, parks, and summer festivities. Although there's no denying that ski-in, ski-out is convenient in the winter, being in town is more convenient overall. The 10-minute bus ride to the slopes is so short as to be inconsequential. And most people come down into town from Mt. CB to eat at night...so you can choose to ride the bus up in the morning to ski, or choose to ride it down at night to eat out/ shop.

This duplex was in a great location in Crested Butte, and was spacious, well-appointed, and clean. The linens were wonderful! We were traveling with just four adults, but we could have easily had room for more. We would go back and stay at this rental again and would definitely recommend it to a friend. Probably a 5-7 minute walk to town, which is perfect. An excellent value in a beautiful town.

Great House! Great Location

This house was perfect for our group. LOT'S of sleeping space! Bright, open, and clean!!! This house had the perfect location, too. Situated on a nice quiet residential street, it is only a couple blocks from the bus stop that takes you up the mountain and only about a 5-10 minute walk into town. I look forward to returning next year!

Lovely Crested Butte Condo!

Great location- super close to the bus stop. If you're heading up to the mountain to ski, you're by the last stop before you get there. That means you're also the first stop the bus makes when heading home after a day on the slopes. Love the layout of the place- plenty of open space and great lighting. Perfectly clean and homie too. Will definitely be renting again!

Great vacation home

Very good location close to shuttle stop and short walk to restaurants and shopping. Everything we needed was provided and very nice layout for our family of 5. Michael was very responsive and accommodating. Great stay in CB. Will be back.

Nice, spacious townhome in great location

Michael's place was perfect for our group of 8 adults and 1 dog. Spacious and provided all of the cooking utensils that we needed (super important!). The beds were a little hard for everyone's taste, but after a full day of skiing, we all slept soundly anyway. Plenty of water pressure and hot water, and the gas fireplace kept the place really cozy while we were at home. We had trouble getting into the townhome because the walk and front deck had not been shoveled in quite some time. One person fell trying to get inside, so be careful if you visit during winter. We called the property manager TWICE and the owner once to get help locating a shovel, and no one ever called us back, which was really disappointing. Just know that you're on your own if you stay here, and all will be fine! I would love to visit in the warmer months - great location for hiking, getting to town, and generally enjoying CB.

Owner's Response: Bonnie, Apologies that the snow removal wasn't up to your standards, and that nobody got back to you about your request for a shovel. At the risk of sounding defensive: 1) This was a banner snowfall year, and snow removal crews (including ours) in the Butte were so behind that we felt lucky our parking area was cleared. I had to have plywood sheets placed over the downstairs windows to keep the snow from damaging them (it was piled up to the second floor decks--see web page photo from 2008). I asked my co-owner in the duplex if his renters expressed any issues with difficulty accessing the property through our common entrance, and they did not. 2) I'm an ER doctor by trade, and I was working that weekend when you called, and didn't see your message until it was too late. After receiving your review, I let my property manager know you tried to call her. I reviewed my records, and in the interest of "painting the complete picture": 1) I sent your confirmation promptly on Jan. 2 for your 2-night stay March 3. It included driving directions. 2) I replied to your request for driving directions on Feb. 24, the same day I received it. 3) On Feb. 24 I also forwarded your request for early check-in to my property manager to get her approval. 4) On Feb. 28 I emailed you confirming the early check-in you requested. 5) I purchased and left a shovel in the outer hallway for future renters to use. Although we strive for perfection, I won't claim to offer a "Four Seasons" experience at these rates. Hopefully future renters will take note of the fact that of my 41 traveler reviews, 39 of them were five-star. The only other 4-star review was about cleanliness, and since that time I have changed property managers... and don't mind saying that my new manager is excellent. Best Regards, Mike Mouw

Better than the photos

Our group of 9 had a great weekend in CB! The house was in such a convenient location - an easy walk to town and the bus stop to the mountain. The townhouse was perfect - nice open living room/dining room/kitchen, a bathroom on each floor, and 5 beds (including the pull out couch). A few nice bonuses: slowcooker that we used for pork shoulder tacos, games and puzzles, and an extended checkout time to 1. Will definitely book again!!

Convenient and spacious

Great location to walk into town and easy access to outdoor activities. Comfortable living area for 4-6 adults plus a couple of teenagers. Clean and well-maintained.
