You’ll feel right at home from the moment you enter this quaint, spacious, homey, non-smoking duplex unit built in 1998 and remodeled in 2013. Luxurious bedding, tasteful furnishings, natural wood accents, granite counters, and saltillo tile floors with radiant heat welcome you, while a wall of south-facing windows flood the vaulted great room with light. There are great views of the Butte from the front porch and rear balcony.
The open kitchen/ dining / living floor plan on the main level lends itself to memorable gatherings of family and friends. The dining table seats 10. Your kids- young and old alike- will love the loft. The large south-facing balcony-deck off the main level has great views and is ideal for sunning, reading, or cooking out. There is an even larger deck on the ground level that accesses the back yard. The lower level has two private bedrooms with queen beds that share a bath. A second full bath and sleeper sofa are on the main level, while the loft has two queen beds and it's own half bath.
There are three TVs/two VCRs/one DVD player, and a large video library means you won't have to rent movies. The stereo has a docking station for your ipod.
Conveniently located in town, just two blocks from the free shuttle that takes you on the 10 min. ride (last stop going, first stop returning) to the ski area, this duplex condo is an easy five to ten minute walk from Elk Avenue restaurants and shopping. It's four blocks from the town park/playscape where outdoor concerts are held.
Kid-Friendly: Our kids love it, and yours will too! It's 1/2 block from a brand new modern playscape with climbing boulder, and 1/2 mile from a BMX park. There's a pack'n'play crib, child car seat, and a trunk full of toys and kid's videos. See if they can find the 'secret view' of the Butte from inside the condo...

About Michael Mouw
I'm an emergency physician by trade, and live with my wife and two daughters in Austin, Texas.
Michael Mouw purchased this Townhome in 2004
Why Michael Mouw chose Crested Butte
I started coming to CB in 1992 to ski, and enjoyed it so much I kept coming back. When I started looking at real estate, it soon became clear that the place to be was in town (vs. up in Mt CB) close to restaurants, shopping, parks, and summer festivities. Although there's no denying that ski-in, ski-out is convenient in the winter, being in town is more convenient overall. The 10-minute bus ride to the slopes is so short as to be inconsequential. And most people come down into town from Mt. CB to eat at night...so you can choose to ride the bus up in the morning to ski, or choose to ride it down at night to eat out/ shop.

Just what we needed
The house was conveniently located to town and transit, slept everyone comfortably and had everything we needed for a quick ski vacation!
Great spot in town with easy access to the bus
Easy to find and get around. Had everything we needed and slept 8 comfortably. A bathroom on every level when you have a party of 8 is a huge plus.
Nice place, but needs a little more intention
Needs more comfortable seating...wicker chairs are not “cozy”. Kitchen ware needs to be looked into and consider adding a note about additional supplies location in the welcome book (found paper towels on last day). Cleaning service/lady knocks on door at 8 am of last day to be sure we plan to be out on time and could we throw a load in the wash before we leave. Would have been fine if she had also welcomed us. Also, towels had no fluff...worse than my college days towels. Were they air dried and just stiff? We have stayed a week in CB about 6 times and I have never been picky or concerned enough to say something. I hope the owners read this, address this and.delete the post...not interest in being frustrated. Maybe I need to be more discriminating in my next consideration for weekly rental.
We had a wonderful time in Crested Butte and staying at the cozy townhome. It was a perfect spot to get into town and up to the mountain. There were nine of us and dogs and we had plenty of room :) The owners were helpful and super accommodating. Highly recommended!!
Perfect place, wonderful owners
We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The place was clean, great common areas for visiting with and cooking with friends, and it's right in town so we could easily go to local restaurants. The owners were lovely in our interactions with them!
Great spot, would stay again in a heartbeat
Awesome spot, well run, clean, and pleasant!
Winter: our place is 2 blocks from the last free shuttle stop before the ski area, max 10 min ride to lifts. So you're the last on, and the first off.
