Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7-9)

Look no further, this really is the ULTIMATE cabin for your summer or winter vacation! In November 2010, we purchased this lovely, smoke-free, cabin (built June 2010) in beautiful Island Park, Idaho. It's just a 30 minute drive to Yellowstone National Park, but that's only the beginning.

Located in the center of the Island Park area you have access to fishing, wildlife viewing, and snowmobiling/four wheeling right from the front door. We have plenty of off street parking for your toys.

We have really gone above and beyond and have spared no expense to make our cabin an exceptional place to stay while offering an incredible value for your money!

Our cabin has a fully stocked kitchen with convenient appliances, including a full size washer & dryer inside the unit. You can relax with our gas stove, roomy bathrooms and attractive furnishings. Smoking is not allowed.

We have a king-sized bed in the master bedroom with an extra comfy pillow top mattress, a queen-sized bed in the upstairs bedroom, and two more queens and a twin in the loft. There is also a pullout couch in the living room downstairs. The dining room table is large and can accommodate up to 9. There is a "full" bathroom downstairs and a very roomy "3/4" bathroom upstairs with a shower, but no tub.

The cabin is stocked with everything that will make your stay comfortable and fun! We have a total of 2 TVs with DVD players (a 46' flat screen in the living room, and a smaller t.v. in the upstairs 'kids corner'.) We also provide a selection of movies for the whole family. The summer of 2012 we added Direct t.v. and internet service. Cell phone coverage is available.

Your kids will love the books, board games and toys that we provide. After a long day of having fun, you are welcome to use the gas grill on our patio, and make S'mores, sing campfires songs, and tell ghost stories around the fire pit.

We look forward to welcoming you!

About Regina Eliason

My husband and I are from Utah. We have one daughter and an English Bulldog. I am a stay at home mom who enjoys photography, knitting, and digital scrapbooking.

Regina Eliason purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Regina Eliason chose Island Park

Our family loves to snowmobile, fish, ride 4 wheelers, hike, and camp. We also LOVE Yellowstone. After our third trip in one summer to the area, we decided we should buy a cabin so we can have a comfy place to stay each and every time we visit Island Park.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin was built in 2010, with new furnishings and appliances throughout. It has a fully stocked kitchen, complete with dishwasher, microwave and coffee pot. Full size washer and dryer are on site and ready to use. TV and DVD player in the living room, and also in the loft for the little ones. A DVD library, bean bag chairs, toys, and games, even a high chair and pack-n-play style crib. Doorstep access to MILES of trails (some say 400 miles, some say 600 miles... when we ride them ALL, we'll let you know for sure.) Trails are groomed for snowmobiling in winter, and accessible to four wheeling in summer. Many cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trails are nearby. Over 50 awesome fishing holes, and rivers for the fisherman. Wildlife, such as swans, moose, deer, and other critters abound. Only 30 minutes from Yellowstone National Park for even more wildlife viewing. Smoking is not allowed.

This really is the ULTIMATE cabin rental!

This is a repeat stay at a roomy, comfortable, well stocked home in a very quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We decided to return to Forest Haven because it comfortably fit the 7 of us. The amenities are like being at home, including the blow dryer. The neighborhood is quiet (in October). Everything worked and the little things were provided, like trash bags, soap and regularly used spices

A wonderful location!

  • 5 of 5

We celebrated my birthday at this lovely property. The weekend was cold with snow showers but we enjoyed the warmth of the stove and convenience of the DVD player. We read and talked - a great way to spend a day in the fall. We enjoy this time of year in Yellowstone, so got to travel the roads, visiting the geysers and viewing the many elk, buffalo and pronghorn getting ready for winter. This time we had good sightings of eagles and coyotes as well. The best thing of all happened the morning we were packing up to leave...strolling through the cabin's backyard were a mama moose and her calf from this spring. It was a delight to watch and take pictures. What a way to conclude a wonderful birthday weekend! Thank you, Regina

P.S. How do you get the moose to appear on cue????

Yellowstone vacation

  • 3 of 5

The cabin itself is beautiful and well furnished. However it is way off the beaten path in a not so nice neighborhood. No view. Much too far of a drive to do three days in Yellowstone. The only thing good about the location was how close it was to Boondocks restaurant.

Outstanding Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic home which meets the needs of almost any vacationing family or friends. Everything was very neat and tidy upon arrival. Everything we could have asked for was provided at a reasonable cost (far cheaper than staying at the resorts in and around Yellowstone). The setting is rural yet close enough to amenities and the park that it is very convenient. We very much enjoyed our stay! Thank you to the wonderful owner!

A little too isolated for us

  • 3 of 5

This is a clean, well equipped cabin. This was our base for visiting Yellowstone and chilling out with our young children (3 & 2 years old).

Make sure to stop for supplies on route to Island Park, once you arrive in the area you are limited to Gas Station stores. The one at Chevron was the best. There are limited dining options in the area.

The window coverings are very minimal, so be prepared for late nights and early mornings with your young ones.

While our stay was peasant enough, the cleaning departure rules were frustrating. For those of you traveling with young children, there's enough to coordinate without having to wait around for a wash cycle to finish so wet towels can be put in the dryer.

Take a photo of the trash card to save yourself a couple of dollars or a trip back to the cabin on departure.

While the inside of the property is clean, the outside needs a little more attention (at least during the summer) with tidying up the dry grass around the property.

Check out Eagle Ridge Ranch for a little family fishing fun.
