Bedrooms 3
Space 970 sq ft
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6

Location, Location, Location!!

This oceanfront beach house has panoramic water views, and is located in the National Seashore. Your private dune access to the Ocean north of Lecount Hollow Beach is only steps away. Enjoy great surf, body, and skim boarding, or seashell collecting on one of Cape Cod's nicest beaches. If fishing is your thing, set up your surf rods and catch ''keepah'' stripers right from the beach.

This ''upside down'' house has three bedrooms downstairs, and the open kitchen and living area upstairs, so that you can spend every waking moment staring out across the open sea. Sleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach. The large wraparound decks are perfect for dining, or just soaking up the sun/shade. Bilevel decks have been completely rebuilt with trex (no splinters). New kitchen and baths installed in 2013. Enjoy panoramic ocean views from both levels. We have also added direct slider access to the lower deck from two of the bedrooms.

There is a $400.00 security deposit required to be refunded when the cottage is left in good condition.

About Anne Lee

I grew up spending summers on this street. We have traveled around the world and have found that there is not a more beautiful beach than that of the Atlantic which stretches along the Outer Cape. You can walk many miles in each direction.

Anne Lee purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Anne Lee chose South Wellfleet

The upside down nature of this house puts your living space high overlooking the water. In the right season we have seen whales from the upper deck.

What makes this cottage unique

Many summer cottages have that 'quaint' feeling that leaves you wanting to spend a lot of your time outside. The previous owners of this house put the effort in to make it a first class spot to stay in for your vacation. From the beautiful hardwood floors, to the shaded porch swing and large new deck overlooking the Atlantic, this is a cottage you won't want to leave. And with the 180 degree views of the ocean, you won't have to!

Perfect family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Home: There are 3 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full, 2 twins) and 2 full bathrooms (1 shower stall, 1 tub) in the home and that comfortably fit 6 adults (My parents, 2 30 year olds, 2 20 year olds) and our dogs. Our biggest concern was the square footage, but we took the chance and are really happy we did! It doesn't feel like 960 sq ft (combined sq ft of both floors) because the ceilings are high and the space is just laid out really nicely with the furniture spatial configuration - the large windows and wrap around porches on both levels also adds to the expanse of the space and always makes you feel like you can move around easily.

Beach: This was the other item I was anxious about because listings tend to over state their proximity, but the listing was true to its word! There are 2 points of access (important for those of you who are older or who have dogs that can't do stairs.) The closest one is about a 30 second walk to a set of stairs that the neighbors chip in to have installed every season - it leads down to the private part of the beach. It was up by the time we were there (end of May), but it's not there year round - so that's important to note. There are a lot and they are steep - thus elderly or dogs who can't do steps, it won't be good. About a 1 minute walk past one of the neighbors' houses is another path that goes to the sandy hill (public access) leading to the public area of the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach, but they need to be leashed at all times.

Host: Very gracious, answered questions quickly, and was an absolute pleasure to communicate / work with before / during / after our stay.

Summary: My dad LOVED it and he is an extraordinarily hard man to please - so that was our temperature check for whether or not us "kids" did a good job in planning this long-awaited family vacation. At the end of our trip, he asked if we could come again next year! :) SUCCESS!!!

The house was awesome! EXCELLENT location and views!! The house has everything you need. Very comfortable, spacious, practical. We were here during the "off season"... but there was plenty to do in and around Welfleet.... and daily walks on the beach and SPECTACULAR sunrises from the porch! Certainly a very nice week! Would go back in an instant. The owner is wonderful.... very helpful!!

breathtaking views

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived, Anne had the heat already turned on for us. The whole time there, the temp didn't really go above 40 but we still enjoyed the beach that is really close to the house. The house was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed. We had a small maintenance issue and it was resolved very quickly by the very friendly property manager. We have stayed at the Cape many times in the past but not on the National Seashore side. Falling asleep to the crashing waves was awesome. We definitely want to come back to this house. We loved it!

Beautiful home with ocean views on a quiet sand and shell road with a quick stroll to the beach

  • 5 of 5

The house is even more beautiful in person and the views cannot be beat. The owner was incredibly helpful throughout the process and made booking the home a very positive experience. She also went out of her way to offer us suggestions of places to eat and visit while we were on the Cape. The beach is just a stone's throw away, a quick stroll through a sandy path brings you right to the bluff. The location feels secluded even though there are other houses on the road. It was quiet and peaceful, a wonderful getaway. I would absolutely recommend this home to friends and family and hope to book it again in the near future. Well worth it!
