About Vicki Conrad

Hi, welcome to Florida! I'm as low key and easy going as it gets. I love nature and have a big garden filled with magical things. I also enjoy kayaking, art, books, theater, crafts and of course having fun with my family and friends.

My favorite vacation was a road trip out west with my camper and my dog. It lasted three months and I hiked all over Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. What scenery!

Being an host has been an amazing experience. I've enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people.

Vicki Conrad purchased this studio in 2008

Why Vicki Conrad chose Clearwater

I love this area because it is so close to lots of fun things. Downtown Dunedin is a mile away. Clearwater Beach is 5 miles, the Pinellas Bike trail is 4 blocks, Coachman Park 2 miles, Countryside Mall (yup, the mall with the ice skating rink) is 3 miles, Edgewater Dr 1/2 a mile, Honeymoon Island State Park, Hammock Park, Weaver Park all within a 1o minute drive.

I have the most awesome neighbors! Nowadays most folks don't even know their neighbors. Not only do we all know each other--We get together, have each other over for dinner or brunch. We know each others families and we look out for each other. It just doesn't get any better than that!

What makes this studio unique

Your in the middle of the city but you feel like your in the country.

Neat and clean

  • 3 of 5

The room was neat and clean. The decor was eclectic, funky and fun. We were in a good spot for our main focus-spring training. I missed having a coffee pot. There was only a water heating pot. It was also noisy at night. The refrigerator made noise all night. There were voices, sounds of things being moved, even sawing one night, that was challenging. Then again, I am a light sleeper. The room worked in general for our purposes.

You get what you expect.

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I (and our dog) stayed at this property for five nights between Christmas and New Year's Day while visiting my in-laws at a nearby retirement community. The room was clean and the bathroom is very large and looks to have been updated (probably takes up a third of the unit's space). According to the manager, the ceiling fan broke a week prior to our visit, and was still not operating while we were there. There is a nice fence-enclosed yard with a variety of plants. Parking consists of open spaces in front of the main house, but availability can be limited if you park at night as most spots are taken by other renters . The cottage is definitely "no thrills", but it served it's purpose for us (just wanted a place to sleep and shower) and I think we would have no problem renting it again next year as the price was right. There is a fire pit by the parking area, and there is a washer/dryer at the main house (but we didn't use it so I don't know how good it works) .

Owner's Response: Hi, thank you for taking the time to review me. I'm sorry the ceiling fan did not work. We could not get the needed part over the holidays. Thank goodness it was cool out and we had the spare portable one in case you needed it. And yes there were more cars than usually that week once again due to the holiday. We have a lot of friends and friends of guests stopping in all week. Im glad your stay was good albiet a few some inconveniences. I have one bone to pick with you. I'm the owner not the manager! I built that place myself. I acted as my own contractor. I did the same with the other building on the property except i did extensive renovations. It was originally built in 1918. Ladies can get er done just as well as men.

Charming and Well-Equipped

  • 5 of 5

Every aspect of the property was charming. From the quirky upcycled garden decorations to the clean, comfortable furnishings, everything is designed to make you relax. The kitchen and bathroom were very well stocked. The bed (with real pillows, not those half-sized ones motels seem to use) was totally comfortable. Everyone was friendly. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Peaceful relaxing area with outdoor garden sitting in the shade

  • 5 of 5

A great location conveniently near everything you want while visiting Florida's Clearwater St. Pete area. I was here for a week of Spring Training Baseball. Four teams are nearby and the whole week was awesome. The Studio apartment is cozy and ready for meals, sleeping, and refreshing recoveries from active days.

This is the place if you like helping the local economy and not corporate stock holders. Looking forward to a return next spring!
