Why Steve Ferrante chose Front Range

We have been coming to Estes Park annually since we got engaged here in 2001, and now we share the natural beauty of Estes with our family as much often as we can make the trip. Our family loves the outdoors and Rocky Mountain National Park provides some of the best hiking, fishing, and breath-taking mountain views in the world. Estes Park is a perfect escape for our family, and we know you will love it too.

What makes this condo unique

We love our condo in Estes. We are close to downtown dining, shopping and entertainment, and right next to the Twin Owls trailhead and Rocky Mountain National Park. We know you’ll enjoy sharing our quiet escape in our quiet, modernly equipped condo that is just minutes from everything Estes Park has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Let me also add my compliments in regard to staying at the Dunn. I felt very comfortable there and truly enjoyed my stay. I appreciated having a quality place to relax at after a day of hiking, at such a reasonable price. I would recommend your services and this location to others. Job well done and thank you!

Nice centrally located townhouse to call home base.

  • 4 of 5

Stayed here over a long weekend. Townhouse was very comfortable and well kept. More than enough room for our group of 5. Centrally located near town and very close to The Stanley. Keys for the townhouse are very finicky it takes a few tries to unlock. Wifi was not working which was a disappointment considering cell service is not strong in Estes Park. Weather was quite hot when we visited. Townhouse has AC but it was set to 78 and cannot be controlled by from the thermostat on the wall. Bedrooms upstairs were warm at night.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you had wifi issues. We have a property manager who could have reset the router etc if you would have let them know. Also there is not air conditioning in the home. Sorry for any confusion.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautiful well-equipped town home. It had a great location. It was clean and comfortable for our family. We had 5 adults and two young children and there was space for everything from playing games to eating (there were even 2 picnic tables- one small ones the kids LOVED) to enjoying the views of elk and other animals moving around. Loved it!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of eight stayed at Thunder Canyon Condo for four nights. The condo was attractively furnished and decorated. The kitchen had everything you could need, there were ample towels , bedding and we were delighted with the games and books, the very best was the picnic tables and grill which was perfect for a barbeque. The location was convenient to everything, yet sucluded. We had deer right by the window one morning and saw saw others on the property! We would definitely stay there again!

Nice Condo in convenient location

  • 3 of 5

This is a nice and very adequate accommodation in a convenient Estes Park location. The condo was clean, nicely appointed for the most part, and easy to find. Probably better suited to a family with children, as opposed to 4 couples because of the bedroom and bed configurations (queen and bunks in one small room).

The garage door remote was not left for us, as indicated it would be. Also disappointing was the master bedroom TV, which didn’t work. The living room TV is antiquated (small- poor picture). TV watching was not our goal for the weekend, but it would have been nice to catch some football while prepping to attend a wedding.

My bigger concern and reason for only 3 stars is a management issue, and the lack of full disclosure with this property: Had I known that in addition to the $120 cleaning fee, that the guest would be expected to 1. Strip the beds 2. Empty the garbages the dishes 4. Wash a load of towels and put in dryer…then wash another load of towels... I would not have rented this property. As a vrbo owner/manager myself, I have never asked my guests to do this amount of cleaning. This request is definitely the prerogative of the owner, however, I think this guest requirement should be disclosed PRIOR to booking this condo.

Also of concern was the TWO week delay in releasing my $500 damage deposit. I was notified within two hours of check out that the garage door opener was missing; the one that was never provided. Fortunately, I had called upon check-in to report the lack of opener, a broken sconce and a missing picture; otherwise I may have been on the hook for these items. My point being, since the property was assessed after our checkout within 2 hours in order to be able to address the “missing” garage door opener, then why did it take TWO weeks to return my $500 damage deposit? Once again, as a fellow vrbo property owner, this can be released by the owner, or it is automatically released by vrbo if no claim is filed. After two respectful emails to the owner/manager went unanswered, I called vrbo customer service. This owner has a 2 week period until “auto-release” of damage deposit funds, and banks require another 4-5 business days to process. I find that delay unnecessary and inconsiderate, however, if that’s their policy it’s their call, but it should just be DISCLOSED before booking.

In summary; the condo is nice enough, but the management issues would deter me from ever staying here again.

Owner's Response: I am so very sorry you were disappointed with your stay. I hope this will be of help in the future. Sometimes people do not understand the rates as listed on VRBO. The "average rate" listed on VRBO does not include taxes or cleaning fee however these are listed in the quote guests are given. In an effort to keep cleaning fees as low as possible we do ask guests to dump trash, run the dishwasher, etc. In the future we want you to know you an call the property managers if there is a concern or if you do not have time to do something prior to leaving. We do not want to burden guests or put undue pressure on them. Regarding deposits they are set to auto refund on the VRBO site. The renal agreement spells out the policy yet we know not everyone downloads and reads the agreement. In the future feel free to call if there are any concerns or questions.
