We wanted a getaway with an authentic mountain feel. We got exactly what we were looking for. The cabin is adorable and modern yet you still get that outdoorsy feel. The view is spectacular from both of the decks! It has everything you might need all you would have to do is some groceries in case you wanted to cook. Enjoy your coffee in the morning on your own little balcony or gaze at the stars at night. Small shower but more than enough space for one with hot water and good pressure. All wheel drive is not neccessary but makes your life easier. Many attractions are just 30 -45 minutes away. Our cabin was ready when we got there and has enough space for two on the main bed but also has a loft with a bed up there too. Good for a small family or just a romantic getaway. I highly recommend it!
Exactly what we wanted. Appear to be in the middle of no where, roasting marshmallows but close enough to breweries, food, and golf!
We went to the Asheville Area for a weekend get away, and enjoyed this cozy, out of the way cabin. It was close enough to the City to make it easy to get to, but far enough away that we felt secluded in the mountains. There are a few close houses around, but from the cabin you feel pretty private. Perfect for a couple, I wouldn't suggest it for more than that. The queen bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean. The kitchen had a good set of utensils, pots, and pans for doing some easy cooking. There is no real wifi in the cabin. The wireless router from the main house up the hill reaches the cabin just enough to show up on your phone, but is not strong enough to really use. The road to get to the cabin is a rough gravel road with many ditches and holes, so I'd suggest a truck or SUV or a car you don't mind scraping bottom with. Overall, I would stay here again.
I enjoyed my two days' stay at this lovely mountain cabin. But beware the steep, rutted gravel roads on the way! I managed it fine in my Jetta Sportswagen, but would not have wanted to try the rutted gravel roads in a low-lying sports car. I was nervous about the sharp gravel cutting my tires, which would not have been a happy situation on such steeply winding roads. The cabin itself was comfortable and well-equipped. It's basically a studio with one large room and a loft with very low ceilings and just enough room for a queen-size mattress. Not suitable for very small children -- ladder access is challenging and small children could fall from the loft area. The small kitchen is nicely designed for efficiency. It includes a dishwasher, smallish refrigerator, small microwave, and gas range. (No garbage disposal, but that was not a problem for me.) The bathroom was spacious with lots of drawers and a small shower (no tub). The bathroom fan made lots of noise and probably needs maintenance or replacement. The queen-size bed in the main room was fine, but not particularly comfortable. The main room also had a sofa with a pull-out bed, along with a small flat-screen television and DVD player on the wall across the room. Quite adequate for my needs. I enjoyed the small, private covered porch facing a pretty mountain/woods view. The large open deck in the photos is just below the owners' house, which looks over the deck -- fine for family picnics, but not good if you want privacy. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The cabin would be fine for a couple and one or two children old enough to navigate the ladder up to the loft without danger. The cabin sits atop a single-car garage and a carport, but there is very minimal space to safely turn a vehicle around to exit from the very steep, deeply rutted gravel drive (which needs attention). I also found the lighting inadequate in the bathroom and kitchen area. (Adding strip lighting above the range would be a big plus.)
A wonderful place to just get away and relax. The view from the front porch is beautiful. It was everything my wife and I were looking for. The owners live next door and Amanda is a massage therapist. We scheduled appointments with her and all I can say is my wife and I would be broke if she lived in our home town. If you are looking for a place to get away from the grind of every day life and just relax then this place is well worth looking into.
