Clean, roomy, nice view. bad wifi

  • 4 of 5

We mostly liked this place, it was clean, somewhat updated and roomy. Issues we had was that wifi only worked outside: not fun to try to call family or make other reservations standing outside in the freezing cold. They should not advertise wifi if it does not work inside the house or buy a repeater, they are not that expensive!

Place has a nice view and it's close to the main town, gas and food. Nice firepit, nice patio, plenty of kitchen utensils, ice maker did not work.

Owner's Response: A new repeater would certainly help the WiFi. One has been ordered. Ice maker is odd, the button needs to be pressed for 5 seconds to turn on, and 3 seconds to turn off.

Nice getaway

  • 4 of 5

Visited for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay. Beds are comfortable and view is wonderful. A quiet, nice location. I would consider staying here again.

What a wonderful little cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This little Cabin was absolutely fantastic!

Right off the highway, it allows easy access to Maggie, Ashville, Cherokee, Bryson City and many other places. And if you run out of something, there are 2 large gas stations about a mile or so away so that you can restock on anything. The diner next to the Shell station is a must go! Fantastic southern cooking!

If you are using google maps on in my case OnStar for directions, when they tell you that you have reached your destination, you'll need to drive about a 100 feet further and take the road to the right. When you do, you'll be the first driveway on the left.

It is a steep rock driveway so be careful.

If you are wondering how you'll get back up the hill, don't worry. You have room to do a 6 point turn to get turned around so you can get back up the hill.

Wi-fi is available, but it is not strong enough to reach into the cabin but sometimes it was available on the front porch, but if you sit down by the fire pit, you can access it pretty good. I didn't have problems with my Android getting a 4G signal, but my fiance's iPhone 7 needed Wi-fi to work.

The bed is very large, there is a pull out sofa bed, and a small bed in the loft so you can comfortably sleep a whole family or a group of friends.

The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, and dining utensils and the bathroom is actually very large with plenty of storage.

The available washer and dryer were a very nice bonus.

I can't stress enough about how centrally located this cabin is. Make sure you hit the waterfalls in Bryson City while you stay here. They are magnificent.

Perfect Anniversary get-a-way!

  • 4 of 5

Had a very nice stay! Loved this little cabin. Perfect get-a-way spot for my hubby and I on our anniversary. Little further out from every place we wanted to visit but definitely much nicer to stay out near the mountains for a nice view!! Would love to come back in the fall to see all the colors!
