About Judy or Robert Fisher

Robert and Judy Fisher are the owners, residing in Kingsland and Austin, Texas. We have tried to reflect our own personality and style in the property, combining a love of Texan values with quality and comfort.

Judy or Robert Fisher purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Judy or Robert Fisher chose Kingsland

Why we bought this property: It has been our dream to own a lake home on LBJ for many years. We were so fortunate to find this property because it fits our style perfectly: ranch style relaxation at the lake! Ranching and rodeo have been in our families for many years so the décor is a reflection of our heritage. We think the architecture of the home lends itself perfectly to the “retro” ranch furnishings and collectibles. Our guests have commented when they walk in the door of the home they immediately feel taken back to a simpler time and are ready to kick back and relax. The living room and dining room furniture are all authentic 1940’s vintage ranch furnishings.

The dock and sidewalk are perfect for bass and crappie fishing (especially in the evenings). The under-water “fish light” makes night time fishing extra fun. Check out the local wildlife too: ducks and heron can often be seen. We even spotted and red fox nosing around the yard a couple of times.

The convenience of being in Kingsland is also a bonus! You can easily pick up supplies from the local HEB and stop by Sonic if you want a quick bite. All the “in-town” conveniences you need are literally just around the corner. No need for a long drive into town if you run out of hamburger buns!

We cherish this place and hope that during your stay you will preserve its character so that it can be enjoyed by others for many more years to come. Y’all come stay with us! Robert and Judy Fisher. Please “check-in” on Facebook when you arrive: El Rancho Pescado

What makes this cottage unique

Star gazing is fantastic under the 100 year old oak trees. Enjoy the view any time from the yard in the swing or the hammock. Sunsets are particularly beautiful while sipping wine from our comfy adirondack chairs. In the cool months, build a toasty fire in the large fire pit down by the dock.

Beautiful, relaxing and pet friendly!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this vacation home for several years and always look forward to our stay. The cottage is very charming and the setting is beautiful. The large yard is shaded with beautiful oak trees and with lots of waterfront. It is located on a cove, so it is very quiet. Fishing from anywhere on the waterfront is easy and we always catch fish, including a couple of large catfish this year. We look forward to the quiet and enjoying having a line in the water and reading while we fish. There is a fire pit by the water that is also used for grilling. After our previous lab enjoyed this place for several years, we were able to introduce our new lab this year. The addition of the steps into the water makes for easy access in and out of the water after lots of swimming. The cottage is cutely decorated with a well stocked kitchen (pots, pans, etc.). The owner is wonderful to work with. We look forward to more visits to this beautiful spot. It is just perfect to get away from everything and retreat into your own quiet world here.

Perfect relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely unique cottage for our anniversary. So many places to relax! The hammock, tree swing, dock, couches inside... and our recent experiences with rentals is that the beds are typically uncomfortable but not here. King size bed was soooo snuggly and comfortable! Lots of elbow room here. Perfect for two or a larger family. Oh and the hosts? So friendly and responsive. Thank you for sharing your home!

A wonderful getaway with the most relaxing atmosphere I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy!

  • 5 of 5

This little cottage is located in a quiet gated community which is a huge bonus to those of us who want privacy and serenity in our getaways. We were pleased to see that the kitchen/dining/living area were open so that entertaining was fun and easy. The decorations are awesome! They are unique and feel like you are stepping back in time but with all the modern conveniences we have all come to need. During our visit it was very hot outside but the house stayed cool and comfortable even when we turned the AC off to have the doors open. The yard is phenomenal. It is huge and beautiful with an area next to the dock for lounging (with an awesome fire pit we made delicious s'mores on!) that has an archway with grapevines that my children really enjoyed - they had never seen how beautiful a grapevine with bunches of grapes on it are. A bit of a learning opportunity as well! We brought our own boat and really enjoyed the fishing/swimming/water sports and natural beauty that the lake had to offer. The owners were also very nice. We definitely return!!!

Beautiful and charming historic lakehouse

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I got some unexpected time off work for Cinco de Mayo weekend this year, so after a bit of scrambling and searching we were lucky enough to find this awesome cottage available on a quiet little channel off Lake LBJ.

The house is located in a little private gated community in Kingsland. It has a great historic charm from it's 1950s construction. I'm not positive, but it seems like the house has been left largely unrenovated, with beautiful tile work in the kitchen and bathrooms and original hardwood floors. I also particularly liked the vintage sinks in each bathroom. The main area of the house has beautiful high ceilings crisscrossed by large wooden beams. The seating is a mix of comfortable overstuffed leather furniture and a few older vintage chairs and love-seats.

The kitchen was fully stocked with all the basics you would need to make yourself at home, from pots and pans for cooking, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, etc. Tons of counter space and a large bar/peninsula to lay out snacks or serve dinner upon. The oven is a neat old vintage thing that worked quiet well for all our needs.

There's one large bedroom that holds a soft and comfy queen (I think) bed, as well as two smaller beds in the corner. The morning light coming through the vintage windows was amazing! We loved the cozy feel of this place, but it might not suit a larger family with more than a couple of adults since there wouldn't be a ton of privacy or large beds.

All that being said, I haven't even gotten to the best part of this place, which is the beautiful lawn that leads right to the water! The house is very close to the water, probably about 50-100 feet away across a beautiful green lawn covered by old oak trees. I think my wife and I counted 8 different seating areas outside, from picnic tables, a large granite-topped patio table (perfect for outside dinners), a huge fire pit, a hammock, a nice wide bench swing and probably more that I'm forgetting!

There were a pair of kayaks which were offered up for our enjoyment, as well as a nice covered boat slip that we only used to sit beneath and enjoy the view. With the house being located on a small channel the water was a little silty, however it was a great temperature and perfectly nice for swimming.

Honestly I could keep talking about how much I loved this place forever. The homeowners were very nice and easy to work with and we can't wait to come back for a longer stay. Thanks!

Just what we were looking for

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights here in March; my wife, myself, 3 young boys, and our dog. It was the perfect getaway for us. In hindsight our only complaint was that we didn't stay long enough. There are numerous hill country sights to see all within an hour drive(many much closer than that). We wished we would have had more time to spend at the house as the outdoor environment was perfect with the mature trees, dock/boat slip, and lake side view. There were blue bonnets on the property and my wife got some great pics of the kids. The house was comfortable and neat and provided all we needed. For the price I don't think you can find a better place. We definitely plan on making a return visit.
