Stayed here to visit our son at Cornell College. The property was as advertised, clean, and a very short walk to campus. It was perfect for our short stay.
Clean, comfortable, charming. Because of the steep and uneven outdoor steps, not appropriate for anyone with mobility challenges.Nice neighborhood; we enjoyed hearing the birdsong and the train whistle!
We came home for a family reunion and I loved staying in my old neighborhood. It was much nicer for our grandchildren who needed the space and cozy atmosphere that this provided. Highly recommend!
We brought our daughter up to see Cornell and found this gem that let us really get a feel for Mt Vernon. It was exactly as described. And nice to be able to make ourselves breakfast in the morning. To be close to campus - literally across the street - this is very much worth it.
I stayed here with my siblings and my niece and nephew. We were attending the Chalk the Walk festival and visiting our Dad. I loved how downtown was within walking distance. The bedrooms were perfect for the twins and we had the main room to watch TV. There was a back door that allowed us to load and unload our luggage. Parking spaces behind the building were appreciated too. The full kitchen was perfect for meals and a good game of euchre. I would stay here again.

Property not as expected. Property manager was quick to communicate our situation would be handled but offered no support in getting in contact with VRBO for a refund. I called VRBO multiple times and sat on dead air for more than 15 minutes before having to hang up. It should NOT be this difficult.

I am sorry to hear you had this experience. Unfortunately, cancelation is out of the hosts hands as it creates a negative mark on our profile if initiated by us.
We really loved the home, especially it's location as it enabled our son to walk to class and return to spend family time within minutes. Amenities were great, as we cooked and appreciated the sugar, oil and such as well as cooking utensils. We did struggle a bit with the furniture, as both the couch and kitchen chairs were relatively uncomfortable for any extended period of time. We're recommending to the owners that they upgrade these, after which this rental will be tip top in our opinion and our go to for visiting our son during his time at Cornell College!
Overall our stay was good. Here are the positives- great location with an easy and fun walk to downtown. Apartment was clean with plenty of kitchen essentials. Parking spot right near back door. Easy and friendly communication with the property manager. Nice, quiet neighborhood.Negatives- listed as having air conditioning but it is only a window unit in the living room… no AC in bedrooms and they got quite stuffy if the door was closed. AC was very loud. Listed as sleeping six but the pull out sofa was small and VERY uncomfortable. Could not comfortably sleep one let alone two people. Check out time early (10 am) and we were asked to start our own laundry and take out trash. Furniture was sparse and not arranged in a way that allowed for TV viewing or gathering as a group.
