A Little History
This Key West style home was inspired by the famous Gibson Inn built in 1907. Known as the Crown Jewel of Apalachicola, it is listed on the National Register of Historic places. Ocean St. Retreat was built in 1990 as a breeze-way house, but don’t worry, A/C has been added. With its wrap-around porches and lovely palm trees, this treasure has been our home for 17 years and now we want to share it with you.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. We are just a short walk to the Gulf of @ beach access 19! Located within walking distance to Neons Beach Shack, Emerald Falls Putt Putt, Shore Dogs Bar & Grill, Liza's Kitchen, Ms. Newby's Liquors, Bricks & Barley Pizza, Waffle House, Rick Seltzer Park and coming soon TOOTSIES!! There’s only a short drive to Walmart (2 miles) or Publix (3.5 miles) to stock up on provisions for the week. Locals Tip: To avoid crowds, shop as early in the day as you can!

ABOUT OCEAN ST. RETREAT
Our home is very accommodating for large groups or several families. Due to its unique floor plan, it is not handicapped accessible. There are 2 flights of U-shaped stairs that lead to the 2nd and 3rd floors and one short, steep flight that continues to the top floor suite. This is truly a one-of-a-kind original Florida beach house!

FIRST FLOOR: Sports Bar! The focal point is a custom-built bar with a bar top made completely from bottle tops! If you feel inclined, bring a small flag of your favorite team and we will be happy to tack it to the ceiling. 3 large screen TVs are available for sports fans or movie lovers. Check out our movie catalog if you’d like to go old-school. Are there gamers in your group? You’re welcome to hook up to our TVs.

2 twin beds are tucked away in the corner and separated from the room by a retractable curtain. A twin trundle bed is behind the full bath in a cozy nook and 3 oversized twin pull outs are in the main area. This is an excellent hangout for teens and young adults! Beside the bar is a mini kitchen complete with sink, cooktop, large refrigerated glass door cooler, and a pass-through window to the pool area.

On the lagoon side of the house is the newly refurbished private pool oasis and hot tub for 8. 6 new lounge and Adirondack chairs circle the pool for sunbathing. This area also includes a huge marble top bar suitable for hosting poolside dinners. If you want to grill out or have a Low Country Boil, we’ve got you covered. Remember the pass-through window to the indoor kitchen, great for easy access when the burgers are hot off the grill.

SECOND FLOOR: The main living level. It includes the main kitchen that is fully appointed (see list of items), a walk-in pantry, a full bath, and separate laundry room. There is plenty of seating for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on this level. The wraparound porch has an outdoor swing overlooking the pool with other seating areas to enjoy reading or cocktails.

THIRD FLOOR: The bedroom level with each room accessing the wrap around porch with outdoor seating. A concierge area has been added to include a coffee/tea station along with a beverage cooler.

FOURTH FLOOR: An entire suite on its own.

If the teens are not on the first floor, this is another cool kid’s hang out.
Please Note: There is NOT have a bathroom on this level. It is located directly down the stairs on the 3rd floor and is shared. Although not a long staircase, the stairs to this level are narrow and steep.

PETS:
The fenced backyard is a great place for your dogs. They are able to wonder up the steps to the first level deck and see what's happening on the poolside. **Please pick up after your pups, a pooper station is provided.

Want to head over to Shell Island, St. Andrews for lunch? We have a Licensed Captain available for you (additional fee). This will need to be reserved well in advance, as our Captain is in high demand. The Captain will work with you to plan your perfect outing! 34' Fountain with twin 400 Mercury outboards ready for a relaxing day! Groups of 6 or less.

UPON CHECK-IN:
We will gladly meet you upon check-in to answer any questions you may have. We are just down the street if you need anything during your stay. We are here to make sure you have a wonderful vacation!!

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING:
Guests receive a starter pack of laundry detergent, dish washing detergent, 1 trash bag per trash can, and travel size-sized shampoo, conditioner, and soap per bathroom. Starter supplies are not intended to last the duration of your stay. Linens are furnished but please bring your own beach towels.
