DIVERSIÓN FAMILIAR: Lakefront, Sand Vball, Kayaks, PaddleBoard

El spa del Lago Austin está a minutos de distancia, alquila tablas de paddle en el parque que se encuentra más adelante o rema con nuestros kayaks hasta la reserva natural al otro lado del lago y camina hasta una cascada. Nuestra cancha de voleibol de arena es de tamaño reglamentario, tenemos un trampolín. Pero la serenidad de esta propiedad puede llevarlo a R & R y renunciar a toda esa actividad: el proyectado en el porche con antiguas camas de hierro y un escritorio hace señas como un retiro de escritor. Hecho a medida con pisos de cedro y vigas resistentes. Se siente como en el medio de la nada, pero hay excelentes restaurantes (sushi, mexicano, Steiner Ranch Steakhouse) en el vecindario, famosas puestas de sol en el Oasis on Lake Travis a 7 millas de distancia, y a 30 minutos del centro de Austin.

Cozy and rustic treehouse-esque on a quiet part of the lake. The kids loved fishing off the pier, paddling around on the kayaks and the steep ladder to the upstairs kid room.

We live next door and it makes our hearts happy to see guests enjoying the property with such gusto. Glad that Stephen mentioned the Captain's ladder to the upstairs loft. Kids and teens love the "hideaways feel" of the spacious loft with twin beds. It is worth a look at the photo to determine if this works for your group. We have a gate to block it from active toddlers!

Not a good fit for my group, but could work for family w/2 children. The sleeping arrangement for my group of 4 adults was not good. The beds were too small, especially for co-sleeping couples. The loft twin beds were not safe to access for many ages & forget abt climbing down that steep ladder for a midnight trip to the potty. The photos show a porch with twin beds, it is not useful at all. It is ONLY screened in (no heat or AC), the fabric & pillows are damp and there are cobwebs/dead bugs. The exterior is over grown with vines, obstructed view to the beautiful river from the house’s beautiful windows, the outdoor porch is unkept and access to the docks is overgrown as well. The view is beautiful from the dock and it’s wonderfully quiet. The linen and towels were nicely available. The kitchen was stocked with equipment for every thing we needed. The Host family is VERY nice and helpful.

Hi Carrie - This review is a great opportunity to point out things that are listed accurately in the property description. There are three BR spaces: The main BR with a queen, the second BR with a double bed, and the third loft space with 2 twins accessible by captain's ladder as pictured on the site. Note we do NOT count the screened porch as bed space, hence our limit of 6 guests. It is a magical space - my favorite in the whole house and for many of our guests. It is indeed an outdoor space - where you feel the breeze, hear the rain on the metal roof, hear the birds every morning. And yikes, maybe spider webs so sorry!! We have a regular service come every two months to evict any bugs! You visited during one of the rainiest weeks in Texas since last year. So the outside area may have been damp from driving rains. Again, this is not intended as a guest sleeping accommodation. The flowering trumpet vines are on the side of the house on the side entry, not on the lake view side that is pictured with high vertical beams, so I am stymied on how the lake view was blocked. Thank you for the compliments on our hospitality, provisions, and lake serenity. Glad you got to welcome many family members and friends from the area during your stay. Shelly

We enjoyed our stay so very much! My son and I took a mom/son trip together. We loved the sand volleyball so so much and kayaks and lily pad! The house was so cozy and the lake was peaceful! Shelly was very kind and helpful.

We loved this little house — views of trees all around. It was clean, had just about everything needed for a short stay. We hosted a small group of our son’s friends for the day and it was just right for that. Kayaks, float, dock, volleyball, grill — everything g we used was great.

Lovely lakefront stay

We thoroughly enjoyed this cozy spot on the lake. While our visit was short, we felt welcomed and completely at home. Looking forward to a longer stay in the future.

Weekend stay-cation

Such a relaxing place! We loved hanging out by the lake, playing beach volleyball, and just being outside. The owners are so very welcoming!

I grew up in a dreadfully nondescript area of Illinois (cornfields) but my parents wanted more than anything to live on the water and even though they earned a modest income as teachers they succeeded! In third grade we moved into a lakefront home in Central Illinois and it was THE gathering place for my friends as I grew up. They gave me the gift of prioritizing a water based lifestyle. Chuck and I bought this property when we got engaged in 1988 and our 4 children ages 25 to 12 relish the lifestyle I did as a child.

We fell in love with this ethereal part of Lake Austin and bought our home in 1988. It was 2 BR/1Bath with gold shag carpet and we were in heaven. Have added on to our home many times and we built the guest house in 2004 hoping to lure out of state grandparents. We failed at that but have loved being able to host many travelers, church youth retreat weekends, you name it!

Every piece of furniture hand picked over time from visits to the semi-annual Round Top antique fair except for the custom made cedar dining table with benches. Nothing matches but everything soothes in this eclectic and comfortable home. Want some activity? A sand volleyball court awaits. Or kayak across the lake and hike up to a waterfall.
