About Lynne and Bill
My husband and I have lived in Tucson since 1976 when we came for graduate work at the University of Arizona and we plan to live here the rest of our lives. We love the casual lifestyle, the friendly Arizonans, and the weather where your picnics are never rained out. My husband and I are engineers, although I have recently entered the world of real estate as a salesperson. This is our only rental property and we plan to make it our eventual retirement home.
Lynne and Bill purchased this House in 2010
Why Lynne and Bill chose Mountain Gardens Estates
We love the house; we love the neighborhood; we knew the previous owner and the builder. We love how you can sit outside in the u-shaped patio surrounded by incredible views of the city and surrounding mountains, or sit inside and feel like you're outside due to the large windows and glass doors. We love hearing the coyotes call to each other at night; we love watching the shooting stars; we love seeing the colorful hummingbirds sip nectar from flowers, watching the mule deer as they come down from the mountains in the afternoon to graze on the jojoba, and the javalina as they move in a herd through the desert. It's all right there at our doorstep. And finally, we love this property for its convenience. In minutes we can be downtown at the Convention Center, the University of Arizona, University Medical Center, some of the best restaurants in Tucson, museums, and attractions. We have the best of both worlds - desert tranquility and beauty while being within a 10 minute drive from Tucson and city life.

Very Special Desert Home
We spent Christmas week at Lynne and Bill's beautiful home. Lynne was incredibly responsive and generous. The home's setting is truly special, with expansive views of the desert mountains and city. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
Did not Stay at Mountain Garden Estates
Due to a gas leak that started before we arrived, Lynne and Bill had to move us to another one of their properties nearby. Lynne and Bill were quite apologetic and offered a partial refund without us asking. The second property, whose name I cannot remember, was clean and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay and found the owners to be professional and courteous. I gave four stars because having to move means I do not really know what I missed by not being able to stay at the first property.
Great location for a relaxing weekend
There were four of us in town for a girls weekend. The house was perfect for us. Nothing fancy, but it had everything we needed. The location is amazing for sitting on the back porch and admiring the view - the Santa Catalinas are endlessly fascinating as the light changes. Easy access to the Tucson Mountain Park and hiking, as well as the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. Downtown is a short drive away. Lynne came by when we arrived to show us around the house and offer great suggestions for what to do. I would definitely recommend this place.
We had a great time in a great space
We had a really nice time and enjoyed meeting Lynne and staying at the house. We had everything we needed and the property was relaxing. The views were stunning and the jacuzzi was a really nice touch!
Beautiful, comfortable home. Close to Tucson yet in a nice quiet area
My family & I rented this home for college graduation weekend. It was awesome. The home was fully equipped with plenty of linens & the kitchen was nicely stocked with plenty of cooking supplies, plates & glasses. Such a lovely spacious home. I would highly recommend this property.
Beautiful location! Excellent house!
This house had everything we needed for our all too brief southeast Arizona vacation! The property is located in a quiet neighborhood in the hills to the west of Tucson. Very close to Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park, yet also only minutes from shopping and dining. Lynne was great, meeting with us rather late at night to show everyone around the house, answer any questions we had, and provide very useful suggestions on what to do in the area. The rental had everything we needed for our stay, and we loved the layout of the house. Everyone especially loved breakfasts on the patio, and evenings in the hot tub. Centrally located, we were able to visit Tombstone, Chiricahua National Monument, Sabino Canyon, Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, and Saguaro National Park. Upon Lynne's suggestion, we were also able to get beautiful sunset photos at West Gates Pass. We also took advantage of a few of Lynne and Bill's excellent dining recommendations. We had a wonderful time during our stay here, and look forward to coming back and spending more time at this beautiful property!
The beauty and history of the Old West - a place like no other on earth. Entrada de los Montanas (Entry to the Mountains) is situated in the foothills of Tucson's oldest mountain range, the Tucson Mountains. The 3000 foot elevation gives unobstructed city views as well as wrap-around mountain views. We are situated on the popular bike path of Gates Pass and back up to the Gates Pass County Park, a natural area studded with thousands of majestic giant Saguaro cacti and much desert wildlife, and with many hiking and bike trails. Although removed from the hustle bustle of the city, it is only a 5 to 10 minute drive to central downtown Tucson, the University of Arizona, the Tucson Convention Center, and Interstate I-10. A short 15 minute drive from our property west, across gorgeous Gates Pass will bring you to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and Old Tucson Studios, the film location of many Western movies and the original Lone Ranger television series. The International Wildlife Museum is only a 3-minute drive away. Other easily accessible local attractions are Flandreau Planetarium, located on the University of Arizona campus, as is the Arizona State Museum which houses many Native American exhibits as well as ancient Western artifacts. A short hop onto I-10, about 5 minutes away, will take you east to Sabino Canyon where you can hike or ride the tram up the canyon and learn many interesting facts about desert plants and animals; the Pima Air Museum which houses many old and new aircraft and WWII memorabilia; Kartchner Caverns which has been named one of the 10 best cave networks in the world; and the historic western towns of Tombstone and Bisbee. Or travel west on I-10 to Phoenix and catch a Dbacks game. Whatever your daily activity you can return to casa Entrada de los Montanas, relax as you sit in the heated spa with a chilled glass of wine and look over the breathtaking views of the Tucson Valley; or watch hummingbirds sip nectar from the flowers in your private patio; or catch sight of the occasional roadrunner or coyote or perhaps even a bobcat or mule deer as they make their appearances in the cool of the afternoon. See the moon as it rises over the mountains or catch one of our many meteor showers. The absence of cloud cover and downtown street lights allow you to see as many as 30 meteors per second. As night falls use the telescope that we've provided to view the milky way and planets as you've never before seen them in the crystal clearness of the Arizona desert night air. We sincerely hope you will be our guests and we promise to do our utmost to make this your best vacation ever.
