About Steve

I grew up in New England hence my love of having four seasons. I've always lived near a body of water. I went to summer 4-H camp in New Hampshire where I fell in love with cabin life. It's definitely a real cabin and a home. My guests agree it does not look or feel like a rental property. My home is your home! Welcome!

Steve purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Steve chose Lake Arrowhead

It's an original vintage cabin, one of only a handful remaining at Lake Arrowhead. Paradise on earth to me. I searched 2 years to find this special cabin and I LOVE sharing it! The lot is flat which makes access easy in all seasons. Its got the lake and full lake rights at one end of my road and a little grocery store, diner, antique shops at the other end of the road. It's exceptionally quiet and you can park the car for your entire stay and walk to whatever you may need.

What makes this cabin unique

Complete Lake Arrowhead Experience! Cabin, Spa, Ski Boat, Beach Club Membership + Full Lake Access + Hiking Trail Privileges + hammock and sleds in the winter.

The reviews of past guests say it all. I enjoy being available to you before, during and after your stay to answer questions or help make your stay a memorable, happy and as stress free as possible. It's designed and decorated so that every guest has a quiet space to themselves. Then 5 rooms for the entire group to hang out, play games. cook, drink, hot tub or snooze by the fire. Hammock is set up during the warmer months. Gas grill on back deck is for your use year round.

The Perfect Rustic Mountain Cabin Getaway at Lake Arrowhead

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a mountain cabin at Lake Arrowhead to take my kids and grandchildren for a summer family vacation. When we found this property, we were very excited as it also came with access to an 18 foot open bow ski boat to fish and ski on the lake. I have been to many beautiful lakes in California, but I don't think I have found a more pristine setting for some incredible family fun. The lake is gorgeous and the homes surrounding the lake are striking. Steve, the owner, made himself readily available to answer questions or any concerns both before we arrived and during our stay. The cabin was built in 1926 and I enjoyed admiring the wood work and cabinetry as well as the wonderful decor Steve has put together that includes authentic antique furniture and nostalgic and historical accessories including animal mounts on the walls that make this the true mountain cabin experience we were looking for. The cabin had come equipped with tons of books and games to provide hours of fun if you wanted to just hang out inside. My favorite place was hanging out on the outside deck with the blue jays and butterflies under the towering trees and read about the early settlers who arrived in the San Bernardino mountains and the challenges they faced, especially in developing roads up into the high country.

Nothing, however, compared to the fun we experienced taking out Steve's boat on the lake. At 6:30 am when the sun was just coming up, the lake is mirror smooth and just gorgeous. We fished, wake-boarded, and generally just toured this amazing body of water. We had access to beach clubs and were able to dock at the beach clubs as well as at Lake Arrowhead Village where the girls were able to shop and pick up some food for our boating experience. The boat is easy to manage, and certainly was big enough to accommodate my wife, two sons, daughter in law and our two granddaughters without difficulty. We had so much fun on the lake and staying at the cabin, we did not want to leave and extended our vacation an extra day.

I am looking forward to booking this cabin next year again, as I cannot imagine a more perfect family mountain getaway. If you decide to check it out, I am certain your expectations will be exceeded.

Thanks Steve. It was a life changing experience.

This cabin is exactly that...a cabin! But with all of the accommodations and luxuries you will need to make you feel right at home. Steve is an amazing host and easy to get in touch with and his instructions on how to make the transition into his home is thurough and complete as to not have any worry during your stay.

Location, location, location! Walkable distance to the local mart for anything you may have forgotten at home and no more than a 5 minute drive to Arrowhead Village. This cabin has everything you will need and want, plus much more (hot tub) to make your stay a great one!

Great Relaxing Rustic Cabin as Advertised

  • 5 of 5

Steve's property was exactly as advertised. Rustic, Charming and a Welcome Getaway. We are seniors but enjoy filling our days with good friends, good food some activities and just rest and relaxing moments. All of that and more were available generally at Lake Arrowhead and specifically at Steve's 1926 Rustic Cabin. He is a great host/owner and left us knowing exactly what to expect when we arrived. We were four guests including a small/medium beagle/corgi mix rescue dog named Shiloh. With the spa keeping us relaxed and games galore including several televisions and dvd players available. The bedrooms were welcoming and spacious, plenty of room for all of us. Overall a wonderful experience and perfect getaway for relaxing, distressing and just having good times with friends. Thanks so much for being a great host and owner...Appreciate it and tell all our friends, or should just keep the good secret to ourselves, and hope to stay again soon!

My family and I enjoyed 4 days and 3 nights at Steves property and enjoyed every minute. We had all we need and more to relax, have fun and enjoy quality time with each other! We would go back in a heartbeat and will do so soon. PS. Take the boat out - its so fun and Steve makes it fool proof to enjoy an afternoon on the lake!

Steve is the Best Host!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time at Steve's beautiful home. It's the most charming place with everything you would ever need. We also used the boat and took long rides around the lake stopping at the "island" for a swim and picnic! So relaxing and just what we needed after a stressful few months. We cooked burgers on the grill and ate outside on the back patio. There is more than enough kitchen equipment for any type of meal! We relaxed in the game room at night watching tv and looking at Steve's photos! Very interesting guy! And as I said super nice and accommodating! My husband and I will be back, maybe next time when it's cold and snowy! Thank you again Steve! Chris and Jeff

Owner's Response: What a wonderful note. I love sharing my little piece of paradise with terrific guests like your family! Thank you for selecting my property and I look forward to having you all back often. And I love that you had a picnic on the island. I've never done that. Now I will.

very quaint and comfortable.

Lovely, well-kept rustic cabin. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Great location, walking distance to a little grocery store. Nice neighbors. The only drawback is a lack of a bath tub. We have two toddlers who are not shower lovers. Other than that, we had a great Fourth of July!

Lake Arrowhead
Car: recommended

90 miles East of Los Angeles, an alpine lake elevation of almost 6,000 feet, Lake Arrowhead had been a getaway for silent screen stars of the 20’s and an active film location spot since the 1930’s. The lake is private. This property has full lake rights; a membership to the beach clubs, hiking trails and marina is also included in this rental. The cabin is one block off lake and a few minutes to Arrowhead Village food markets, restaurants, outlet stores, the country’s first water ski school, large paddle boat lake tours, and a lakefront park for picnics. The entire lake area is surrounded by the San Bernadino Mountains which have the best hiking trails and trout fishing in southern California. In the winter months there is a wonderful local ski slope with five lifts 15 minutes from your living room. Lake Arrowhead is a year round resort with all the amenities that make for a delightful vacation. At one mile high there are cool summer nights and moderate winter temperatures with enough snow falls to keep the ski area busy.
