Lodge House #100 brings a rustic mountain family cabin to life with some modern touches and furnishings, and is located within our Shore Acres Lodge meaning you are setup in an amazing location on the shores of the lake! This cabin is equipped with all that you will need for your vacation, including a comfy living room with leather furnishings, a mounted flat screen TV/DVD player above the toasty wood burning fireplace, and French doors that lead out to a private patio deck area with a charcoal BBQ and outdoor seating available for your use. The kitchen has all you need for a family meal, including cooking utensils, basic appliances including a dishwasher, plus a nice dining table for your meals. Off of the kitchen area and connecting the back patio deck is a full laundry room for your needs. Lodge House has a fabulous central location close to the downtown Village and hiking area, plus entertainment and fun on-site, making this the perfect place to spend any mountain vacation here in Big Bear!

HOUSE RULES:

AGE & CC REQUIREMENT- Big Bear Vacations requires a minimum age of 21 or older to reserve our homes. This property is a licensed and registered Transient Private Home Rental, regulated by City of Big Bear Lake municipal codes. The renter booking the property is required to sign an Occupancy Agreement, which will be provided by the Host via email after booking is confirmed. The guest whose name appears on the credit card charged for your reservation MUST BE PRESENT with valid photo ID at the time of check-in to release property keys.

PROPERTY CHECK / HOME QUALITY-

You the tenant are financially responsible for any damages to our home during your stay. Big Bear Vacations homes are privately owned properties that are inspected prior to your arrival,

however if there is anything that you notice or feel that we should be aware of please contact us within 1 hour of your arrival at (909) 866-8200 or you can send us an email to info@bigbearvacations.com. Please check upon arrival that your cabin has working heat, power, hot water, and the hot tub is working (if applicable) due to changing mountain climates and conditions. Big Bear Vacations does NOT offer refunds due to any circumstances outside of our control including but not limited to: weather or road conditions, acts of nature, mechanical or electrical failure or malfunctions with spas, TV's or other equipment, or the sighting of insects, bugs, or rodents.

NEIGHBORHOOD TRANQUILITY-

You are a guest of the owner and Big Bear and will be staying in a residential neighborhood area. Please understand that you agree to respect the tranquility of the neighborhood and those around you, and that disturbing the peace is a direct Violation of City Ordinance which could result in fines and or immediate eviction without refund.

TRASH REMOVAL- Guests are required to remove & dispose of their trash to the proper dump site (Per City Code) provided at check in and to wash and put away their dishes prior to departure. Failure to dispose of trash properly will result in a disposal fee of $25 PER BAG REMOVED.

OCCUPANCY & PARKING-

Each property is licensed to accommodate a maximum number of guests (including children) and vehicles at any given time during your trip. It is very dangerous and illegal to over occupy any property as these regulations are set by the City or County and are non-negotiable. Winter snow will likely reduce parking by 1 vehicle, please plan accordingly and use common sense when parking in the winter months. NO STREET PARKING IS PERMITTED IN BIG BEAR. Violation of occupancy and parking regulations can result in fines, vehicles being towed, and possible immediate eviction without refund.

HOT WATER-

Mountain cabins are generally equipped with 15 - 40 gallon water heaters per home, depending on the cabin size and water heater type. It takes more hot water to heat in Big Bear for bathing comfort due to the low outdoor temps, meaning you will quickly deplete a 40 gallon water heater when showering, doing dishes and or laundry. In the event that you have loss of hot water, and can verify that it is engaged and working, you will need to allow for recovery time for the tank to refill and reheat your supply.

PETS-

Many of our homes are pet friendly and accommodating to your fur-babies however there is a non-negotiable pet fee of $10 per pet, per night in these particular homes.

AMENITIES-

Though most of our homes are fully furnished with the essentials, utensils, cooking supplies and linens, please note that Big Bear Vacations does not supply shampoos, soaps, hair dryers or laundry detergent. Being individually owned, each property amenities and offerings are listed to the best of our current and active knowledge, though some changes since the photos were taken and published are not completely guaranteed.

INTERNET-

Big Bear Vacations does NOT offer a Warranty for Internet use during your stay. This amenity and related equipment is offered to the guest “as-is” without warranty or guarantee of any kind.

HOT TUB-

If the hot tub/spa becomes non-operational at any time during your stay Big Bear Vacations will do our very best to repair or contact the owner's service company to repair in a timely manner for you. Big Bear Vacations does NOT offer any guarantees, refunds, or compensation if non-operational during your stay.

WEATHER/SNOW REMOVAL-

California Law requires that if traveling to Big Bear during the winter months (November to April) that you carry snow chains for your tires with you IN your vehicle. Snow removal is the responsibility of the guest. Shoveling may be required to gain access to the cabin, as well as decks, porches, BBQ and hot tub areas. A snow shovel will be supplied at the cabin for you, if you do not find one contact us right away and we will deliver this for you.

**In the unlikely event that your rental home becomes unavailable to you for ANY reason during your stay, Big Bear Vacations reserves the right to offer a comparable property or to issue a full refund.**

Violations of the above Guest House Rules/Code of Conduct by yourself or anyone in your party will result in the immediate eviction of your group without refund of rent, security deposit and the addition of possible city imposed fines to the reservation holder.

The pots and pans are extremely dated, broken tile in the bathroom, an old filter in the coffee pot. I had paid for late check out for 3pm and at noon the cleaners knocked on the door then at 1 the owner or whoever he was walked right into our cabin. I asked for a copy of the rules and was denied it. There was suppose to be three parking spots and there was only one available. There was trash under the couches. It is walking distance to lake and very close to summit and the village.

Owner's Response: We are sorry you had this experience. That storm was bigger than any we have seen in 10 to 20 years. It really was a learning curve for Big Bear Vacations and the whole town! We are taking a hard look at how we approach snow removal so we are more prepared and more responsive in the future. I have also forwarded you info about the pots and pans to the Team/Owner. Regarding this and your other concerns, this is certainly not our standard. I hope you filled out a Concern Form so we can review and address your concerns. When things go wrong we try very hard to make it right. A Note About Parking: During Winter months parking is greatly reduced due to Snow Conditions. Big Bear Vacations utilizes the Contract, Check in Paperwork, email notifications, and Front Desk Staff to educate Guests on what to expect. The contract actually states: "During the winter month’s driveways, steps, porches, decks and other outdoor areas at you property may not be accessible due to snow and/or ice. In winter months be prepared to have tire chains equipped on your vehicle." Additionally paperwork states: Cars must be parked legally (off street). Max Parking is in good weather (Snow conditions reduce parking spaces). Please be prepared if you are coming to Big Bear during a snow storm. Bring Chains and carpool when you can!

Great location but Cabin is not maintained

Great location near the lake. Gave it 2 starsdue to location and it was near Snow Summit. Cabin needs to be more maintained and updated. The Master bedroom's toilet does not function properly (we had to remove the toilet cover and pull down the lever) in order for it to flush. We ended up using one bathroom the whole time we were there. Loose cabinets in the kitchen needs to be fixed to prevent injury.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to post your review. The cupboard and toilet concerns have been addressed and corrected. We appreciate you letting us know about this. These are rustic cabins it is true, but that is part of the authenticity of Shore Acres Lodge. The cabin at Shore Acres were built early around 1907. They have been updated over the years but still have the "cabin in the mountains" feel. So of course, sometime little things might come up ~ but we strive to keep the romantic early century Big Bear flare while offering all the comforts of home. Don't forget about all the wonderful qualities of Shore Acres as well. Shore Acres Lodge holds the best kept secret to quality vacation time. 2 acres of lakefront property hold 11 individual cabins that range from a romantic studio to 2 bedrooms. All of the cabins are decorated in a cozy big bear mountain-style décor and have fully equipped kitchens and most have fireplaces. Their close proximity to the lake, all these cabins are prime lakefront properties. 3 of the cabins are lakefront cabins, the others are a stone throw from the lake. There is plenty of snow in winter to enjoy and the ski and snowboard resorts are just minutes away. In the center of the Shore Acres property there’s a heated swimming pool (seasonal) and a hot, bubbling Jacuzzi. The kids can find their own entertainment in the play area, swinging away, building sand castles or playing a game of Ping-Pong. Volleyball anyone? The big kids in the group (aka: adults) have plenty of leisure time activities as well! Gather the group for a game of volleyball, badminton or horseshoes at the Lodge. If you are more into solo sports, grab your fishing pole and some good bait and cast out your line from our private beach area. These Big Bear lakefront lodge is known for it prime fishing location. If that’s too much exertion for you, just grab your favorite book and sit on your own sundeck or by the lake in the beach area while sipping on some lemon aide. (If it’s too cold outside, sit inside your cabin with some hot chocolate!) With all this in mind we do hope you give Shore Acres another visit very soon. We are confident we can earn a better rating from you next time!
