Nice golf course side view from the property. Fun quirky decor and a unique place with beautiful scenery good tor a large group! The instructions are a bit confusing for arrival and the place doesn’t really have service, so be sure to have the lat/long downloaded!

Thanks for your feedback - we have successfully used our directions for our renters for many years. Also, there is cellular service in the area by Verizon. We do provide wifi in the cottage.

The location was outstanding. The ability to walk around the beautiful lake was the best part of the stay. The house is large and charming but needs some maintenance and cleaning. The water pressure varies but was always fairly low. We were happy with the stay overall. It’s about 30 minutes from Dreamspark but the drive up and down was beautiful because the lake. Food was really good in the area. Also wanted to mention this home is on a long dirt drive so your vehicle will stay dusty during your stay if that matters.

Cute home with lots of character

Loved staying here while attending Cooperstown. Enjoyed getting away from all the chaos everyday as we headed back to this cute home located in the woods and near the lake. The owner was always very responsive. We had a great stay!

Such charm and beauty - a true gem

What a special spot we found for our week for a Cooperstown tournament. It is about 30 minutes from Dreams Park but well worth the trip to enjoy the beauty and solitude of the lake and golf course. The owner had everything ready for our stay (coffee, water were nice touches) and was a great communicator. We loved it.

Amazing property

We had a great stay! The phoenix cottage is an amazing property. So much character and history. It’s an old house but we loved the charm. The views surrounding the property are beautiful. The homeowners were helpful and kind and very easy to work with. I would recommend to family and friends!

This is a BIG property on the North end of Otsego Lake that is ON the Otsego Golf Course property, formerly the historic Hyde Estate. The house is a converted Carriage house that is roomy and spacious, and very charming, but a bit dated. There are several seating areas in the open main room and a large table. Two of the four bedrooms have their own baths, and the other two share. There were more than ample towels for four of us for a week. THe floors are beautiful original wide plank and there are some lovely antiques throughout and a massive fireplace. The rest of the furniture and decor seems to be a hodgepodge of pieces collected from travel, and furniture leftover when other properties were updated. The kitchen is large, but the countertop is minimal, and the antique washer and newer dryer are awkwardly placed in there. The sink is old but there is dishwasher. The view is of the Golf Course Clubhouse is out the door, (which has an awkward top step) and there is a lovely old slate porch with a new seating set, dining table and grill. While we loved the charm-future renters should know that the property is older, and while it is well maintained it is not updated Also-set your GPS to Otsego Golf course; not the Pinehurst address. The owner-Arthur was warm and personable, and responded quickly when we had a fuse blow. Everything we needed was clearly labeled and there were games, emergency lanterns and lots of dishes, glassware serving plates and pots and pans.

Well located, spacious property that shows its age

The location, layout, and spaciousness of the house were excellent, maybe a large family stay very comfortable. However, I expected more updates in the kitchen and bathrooms, and the cleanliness of the house was unsatisfactory. An old pair of dirty socks were left near the bed, the bathroom mat was dirty with hair, many kitchen items were dirty, etc…. and the owner should consider a new housekeeper.

Wish we could have stayed longer

We had a packed event schedule in Cooperstown so we couldn't fully take advantage of this historic home, but we appreciated the short commute to Cooperstown nonetheless, and being away from the Hall of Fame weekend crowds was welcome. This house is great - kept in its 1920 look, but with modern conveniences. Just up the hill from the golf course clubhouse where you can get a rundown of the full Clarke-Ryerson family history from "Pork Chop," who runs the course (great course as well). The great room is beautiful with high ceilings and the bedrooms are roomy with full bathrooms, and all of the bedrooms are situated around the great room, which is a really good layout. The kitchen is classic old-school even down to the red paint color and diner style table, which is just fine functionality wise and actually really fun. We wish we could have enjoyed the outdoor covered patio, but didn't have the time! Bottom line, we loved it and would have liked to share it with more of our family and friends - alas, we had it all to ourselves, which wasn't such a bad thing! Thank you, Hyde!

Wonderful stay at the perfect location! House accommodated our group of five adults and three kids with room to spare. Loved the location being tucked away from busy streets and it was so nice/quiet being located directly adjacent to the golf course.Hyde was extremely accommodating and worked around a timing mishap on our end that saved us a lot of heartache. We will absolutely be back in the future!Thank you!

This beautiful home was the perfect meeting place for my family from all parts of NY state. And the perfect place for our 1 year old twins to roam around and explore.
