Amazing staff and a view of the ocean!

The house is huge, there were 16 of us and it was plenty big for everyone to have their own space. The staff was so kind. Although they spoke very little English, they were really helpful, and Joseph (property owner) was available and checked in by phone frequently. The pool and the balconies are incredible, and we spent hours looking out at the view and playing games poolside. This is really a friendly environment, with the staff and the owner taking a real interest in making your experience and your stay extraordinary!

I cannot even start to tell you how much we appreciated having you guys living with us. Those 10 days that you were staying at the castle just went by too too quickly. You are a magnificent family!!! You were not clients or guests, you were family and much more. Like I had said, we are not a 5 star hotel, nor are we extremely professional, but we do enjoy putting them to shame... Everyone loved you guys because you are so down to earth and friendly and warm people. Thank you for having made our Christmas even better... Hope to see all of you very soon. Amazing & Blissful stay !!

Our stay at Castillo Romano was just amazing. The comfort & the treatment was the best. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Morena & Theo with a warm welcome & a delicious meal. Joseph the owner made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. He is very attentive and the hospitality overall was just perfect! Not once we felt out of place or uncomfortable during our stay. It felt as if we were visiting our own family in the Dominican Republic. The view of the castle is amazing !! My children enjoyed the pool and simply playing around the entire castle. I will definitely be booking here in the near future when we visit las Terrenas again!

the best part of a once in a life time vacation.

First thing is thank you joseph for opening up this incredible home to me and my family. there were 22 people in awe for 4 days. the castle is as billed and more. the grounds are steep but if you look carefully I believe you can find every type of fruit and flower on the island all taken care of by TEO . there is another gift that came with our stay-Morena, bring her the food and she will cook fabulous local cusine , she can do it all. we liked the las terrenas area also. 3miles of beach and boardwalk that's not tooooo busy. thanks again joseph we will return. mike shay

All I can say is WOW

The pics of Castillo Romano looked amazing, and we were excited to stay there. We were looking for a destination that wasn't "touristy" like Punta Cana - something more authentic. This was it. When we first arrived, it was a little weird - this place is on a massive hill and our 9 passenger van really struggled to make it up (driveway was wet from rain and very slippery) and none of the staff spoke English. But the next morning things settled in and we got some help translating from one of Joe's workers. The thing to keep in mind is - this is not luxurious by American standards, but is freaking cool - I mean really really cool. Way more authentic than staying in a resort. And the staff is so incredibly friendly they become like family during the time you stay there. Next to this the home, the best part of this rental (a short 5 minute walk) is the cool little town at the bottom of the hill. It is very charming. No one really speaks English, but everyone is incredibly friendly. There are a lot of little local shops and restaurants within a few blocks, and the beach (total of 10 minutes from the house after walking through the town) is right there. This is a trip we'll never forget, mostly because of the really unique accommodations and the staff that feels more like good friends by the time you leave. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We had a lot a lot of fun with everyone. Had some good laughs like when I asked you how our special Mamajuana tasted and you did not know what I was talking about but you had been drinking it all night... Big and comfortable castle

Our stay, although short, was very nice at Castillo Romano. Theo and Morena made sure to welcome me and my family with open arms. Morena is an amazing cook and very friendly. Don Theo is the best! He helped us with anything we needed in the house and even gave us good advise for our trip to El Salto Del Limón. The castle is well kept and has amazing views. If ever back in the Terrenas with my huge family, I’ll be sure to book again!

Best experience ever

The house is literally a castle i love everything about it. This is my favorite place to stay in las terrenas. The host is amazing and the house come with a lot of goodies overall this was the best experience that far ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻

Fermin and his group were absolutely amazing. They were friendly, sympathetic and responsible individuals who felt immediately at home as soon as they came in. They were not clients but rather like family coming to visit after a long time. Hope to have them all back real quick because we really enjoyed hosting such an awesome group. Outstanding service and accomodation

This place is a true castle. My family and I had a great time here. My enjoyment started with the professionalism of the owner who made us feel welcome. It was then complemented by the courteous and friendly service staff. They spoiled us during the 2-night stay with delicious food, fresh and plenty breakfast, and exceptional service. My family and I enjoyed every minute while in this properly. The castle is well maintained, secured, and conveniently located near everything. We initially rented it as an offload place for my family to sleep and then ended up using if for a very nice reception and birthday party for my mom. Great place for this type of activity. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Hello Mr. Santos, Thank you for the beautiful comments in the wonderful review. It was our pleasure to host you and your whole family during the weekend. I had promised you an exceptional birthday party for your Mom which turned 80 years young. We decorated the whole reception area with beautiful balloons and a huge cake and were touched when your Mom started crying because she was so happy. It was a true surprise for her!!! My employees made me laugh when they told me that she was dancing all night like a teenager. That is why we marked 18 instead of 80 on the birthday cake. The 3 cooks working the Barb-qs and the security guard would like to thank you for the nice tip. Hope to see you guys again soon. Great location and staff.

We rented out the whole hostel for my birthday trip. We had a group of 15 people staying there. It is very close (5 minutes) to walk to shops and the beach. One thing to note though is the driveway is very steep, so keep that in mind if you have any disabilities. The staff made us a great breakfast every morning out of the food we purchased and the owner Joseph had even purchased some extra stuff for us to have. There is even a little house dog named Rubia that is very sweet and waited at the gate for us every day to come home! The only issue we had was one night it poured down rain all night and our bedroom ceiling leaked (my husband and I were in the suite), it was pretty bad. The owner is aware of the problem though and working on getting it fixed. Overall, I would for sure stay here again the next time I'm visiting the area. Theo and Morena were very sweet and helpful.

Hi Carrie, Thanks for the excellent review with the 5 stars and the nice message about the place and the staff. It was like I thought. There were leaves stuck in the roof drains from that awful tropical storm that was blocking the rain from going away and we resolved the issue. Luckily, the rest of the week went super great. Theo, Morena, Jose Mateo found you guys amazing and terrific. They even asked me if I had any news from you guys? We really hope to see you guys again in the future and it will be a true honor to have you guys come and live with us again. You guys were like family for us. Even that hot dog that thinks she is a guard dog would love to see you guys again!!! I am sure that you guys spoiled her pretty good. AWESOME VACATION

This place was spectacular, elegant and refined. We found it to be huge, clean and comfortable. It was everything they said it would be. We had a wonderful vacation and can't wait to return. I highly recommend this place for your exotic vacation destination!

Great property, great vacation

Wow, we didn't expect that much! The property is even nicer than on the pictures. Lots of space, everything is new and very clean. We really enjoyed the beach and the exercise. The motorbike ride to town is really the best way to go! Staff is quite helpful, and speaks pretty good English. We even got to meet the owner, Jo, the property is quite his labor of love. Just ask and he will oblige. Really recommended to anyone, specially larger groups. In town, you need to go to the Mojitos restaurant, the best mojitos and delicious grilled Tuna. Overall a great vacation, quite different from those all inclusive ones.

We are three brothers that have completed the Castillo Romano after our father passed away three years ago. Tony Romano was a master builder in Europe who then moved to North America and finally to the Dominican when he retired. Being a dynamic person, he purchased a piece of mountain and had a dream of building a castle with an ocean view below. Therefore, 'THE DREAM COMES TRUE'

The CASTILLO ROMANO is unique in that it has mediteranean qualities not found in the rest of the dominican.
It has an original construction and structure and is built with only the finest materials such as travertino marble, granite, and
cahoba wood. It is immense and has a massive staircase that is inviting as you step into the castle. Curiousity keeps you walking and investigating room after room to the towers. You go searching from floor to floor till you reach the basement and out to the backyard where you admire the jacuzzi, swimming pool and barb-q area.

This area is considered one of the nicest in the dominican by so many tourists and dominicans alike. It is full of fruit trees,
wild flowers and has some of the most beautiful beaches
in the world. The people are warm and friendly.
It is also renowned as a party town and there is constant music everywhere which makes you move to the latin beat.
There are many restaurants - French. Italian, Dominican and you can smell the different cuisines as you walk along the boardwalk.
There are so many sight seeing opportunities from the grots to whale watching, the caves to scuba diving, deep sea fishing to golfing, etc. etc.
