Turn on the flat screen satelite TV and relax on our huge curvy couch. Sleep comfortably in the bedrooms all with private baths. The master bedroom includes a king bed with master bath tub and separate shower facility. If you wish, use the washer/dryer machines for your clothing before you leave.
Arrange for a guided ATV tour to see the area around our property and the Rainmaker Nature Park Preserve. Plan a mangrove river fishing cruise and play with the white-faced monkeys. Book a day long deep sea fishing outing. Do not worry about sea sickness since these waters are the calmest in the Pacific. You can catch sailfish, marlin, dorado, or tuna. In shore, fight the mighty rooster fish or pick up a few spanish mackrel for dinner.
Try a guided white water rafting experience in the afternoon after a zip line jungle canopy tour or cable car ride in the morning. See the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park to hear and see the amazing howling monkeys! After all that you can arrange for a day of golf if you wish and still have time.

About Peter Sorensen
We are three friends that enjoy traveling, boating, fishing, good food and drink! One partner is a funeral director, another a retired manager with a national electric utility, and the other an independent financial advisor.
Peter Sorensen purchased this House in 2011
Why Peter Sorensen chose Cantón Parrita
We came to Quepos in 2006 on a fishing trip. We had a great time and learned about the Las Palmas development just outside of town. After investigation we decided to purchase two lots and build a vacation/rental home.
What makes this House unique
Watch the squirrel monkeys and toucans as they pass by the house. In the morning take a quick drive to the nearby beach for a leisurely stroll, picking up a few 'sand dollars' to bring home with you. Stop at the quaint little beach restaurant for a nice lunch of fried tilapia and plantains or rice and beans. Learn more about the culture by visiting with the local people.

A really fun get away
We enjoyed the house and surroundings. Perfect for our 2 grandchildren. Sunsets beautiful and pool a lifesaver in the late afternoon. We took advantage of the beaches, horseback riding, and monkey tour. The wharf restaurants are fine, but the smaller restaurants in Quepos had some excellent seafood and ceviche. We did miss Bert and Aliyas info. We looked it all up ourselves, but a local's advice would have helped a lot. The pool could use a face lift, especially the broken tiles. All in all it was a nice property and well equipped.
A perfect getaway
We were two families with children aged between 8 and 12. We all agreed we would come back in a heartbeat. This is a beautiful property up high along a gravel road. There are other properties along the road but, from the house, you don’t see them or hear them. It is like you are alone in the jungle. A major grocery store is only about 15 minutes away by car. The most beautiful, deserted beaches are about 40 minutes away. Manuel Antonio is 20 minutes, Nauyuca Falls about an hour.
The house is clean, well maintained and well stocked. There were plenty of dishes for the 8 of us. The pool was a great size for the 4 kids to play around in. We saw lots of coatis, squirrel monkeys, and morpho butterflies from our deck.
The road up is gravelly and has some steep grades. We rented a Toyota Rush (same class as the Dahaitsu) and it worked fine. Not the most powerful car but it didn’t have any troublewith the roads.
The only downside was that the power went out 3 times during our 9 day stay - once for over 6 hours. Apparently it happens on a quasi-weekly basis; we were unfortunate that it happened so frequently and for so long. However, there is a pool and lots of great dining in the area (Bert has some good suggestions) so it was only a slight inconvenience. After all, you’re in Costa Rica!
We wholeheartedly recommend this place!
We are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at our house. We are sorry about the power outages, but as you learned, this is a reoccurring problem in Costa Rica regardless of where you stay. We look forward having you come back!
Loved the views, peaceful, relaxing. The pool was great.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the house! I hope the monkeys showed up to provide some entertainment!
The entire family though it was great.
The house is fully equipped and it has everything you need.
The kids loved the pool. The grownups enjoyed the grill and the relaxing area.
It was definitely the best choice.
Amazing home! Perfect location for exploring Costa Rica and coming home to pure tranquility!
We spent 10 days exploring the area surrounding Manuel Antonio. This house was perfect! Comfortably sleeps up to 8 people. Exactly as pictured! Fully equipped kitchen, very clean and bright.
Everything went smoothly, from reservation to check in and out. The caretakers are American and we're extremely helpful and fun to know! Peter sent a list of suggestions of things to see and do prior to our trip. He promptly answered all of my questions. I had many, since this was our first trip to Costa Rica!
You'll need a 4x4 to get up the road to the property. It was easy to get around the whole area. We saw monkeys, iguanas, beautiful birds and butterflies!
We were so sad to leave this beautiful house in the jungle and we will be back soon!! If you're considering a rental home in the area, this is the one!!
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at the house. We look forward to having you come back and get a special deal as a repeat guest! Thank you for choosing to stay with us and taking such nice care of the property.
We had a wonderful trip and immensely enjoyed our stay!
We toured the area near the house on an ATV and was taken to a beautiful waterfall. Our 17 year old grandsons enjoyed rappelling free m the top and jumping into the pool. We fed Scarlet Macaws peanuts. We went white water rafting and toured Manuel Antonio National Park with a guide and saw all kinds of wildlife including three different species of monkeys. Titi, whiter faced and Howling! An outstanding trip! What a great adventure we enjoyed as a family!!
Often the Titi or squirrel monkeys will come past our house by the dozens! We are fortunate to be in an area where we are close to so many fun things to do!
All-terrain vehicles and motor scooters available. The longest Zip line canopy tours and cable car rides in Costa Rica availble near by. Guided tours are available.
