About Peter Sorensen

We are three friends that enjoy traveling, boating, fishing, good food and drink!

One partner is a funeral director, another a retired manager with a national electric utility, and the other an independent financial advisor.

Peter Sorensen purchased this house in 2011

Why Peter Sorensen chose Parrita

We came to Quepos in 2006 on a fishing trip. We had a great time and learned about the Las Palmas development just outside of town. After investigation we decided to purchase two lots and build a vacation/rental home.

What makes this house unique

Watch the squirrel monkeys and toucans as they pass by the house. In the morning take a quick drive to the nearby beach for a leisurely stroll, picking up a few 'sand dollars' to bring home with you. Stop at the quaint little beach restaurant for a nice lunch of fried tilapia and plantains or rice and beans. Learn more about the culture by visiting with the local people.

This was truly a fabulous escape from reality!!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter graduated high school this year, so we let her decide where we would take our family vacation. She is an avid lover of animals, nature and the environment, so she chose Costa Rica. At first we were hesitant, due to what we thought would be a very expensive trip. We needed a house because there are 6 of us, and a friend recommended VRBO. I knew we wanted to be in the Manuel Antonio area, so I began my search. This home appeared to be well within our budget, and was within a half hour of where we wanted to be. I made the reservation, and the owner was very accommodating. He made several suggestions on what to do, where to eat, shop, etc. And all were spot on!! The care takers of the home live in the same gated community, and always graciously answered my calls for information, and they had fabulous recomendations as well. The home is simply stunning! Huge open layout for family time, and the bedrooms had their own private bathrooms so you also had privacy. The kitchen was very modern, and had all the utensils you needed to prepare any meal you'd like, or even bake if you wanted to! The views from the balcony were absolutely gorgeous and the pool was a great way to cool off after the many hikes we took through the rain forests. I would highly recommend this property as an affordable way to live luxuriously during your visit to Costa Rica!!

We had a wonderful trip and immensely enjoyed our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We toured the area near the house on an ATV and was taken to a beautiful waterfall. Our 17 year old grandsons enjoyed rappelling free m the top and jumping into the pool. We fed Scarlet Macaws peanuts. We went white water rafting and toured Manuel Antonio National Park with a guide and saw all kinds of wildlife including three different species of monkeys. Titi, whiter faced and Howling! An outstanding trip! What a great adventure we enjoyed as a family!!

Owner's Response: Often the Titi or squirrel monkeys will come past our house by the dozens! We are fortunate to be in an area where we are close to so many fun things to do!

Great keepers great price great home.

  • 4 of 5

House was very clean upon arrival. Keepers let us use a cell phone to call the house if needed. He was very informative and very helpful. There isn't anyone to clean up after you so don't expect a house maid. However, he did come by and clean the pool once, but more as a favor than a requirement. All in all, despite the massive amounts of bugs, I love being in the jungle. If only I knew there was bugs spray for the house under the sink the whole time, then I would have had a better experience.

Amazing Place

  • 5 of 5

This house was amazing! My husband and I Rented this property for our 10 year anniversary. Huge space and very updated. The view is rain forest as far as you can look out and all around you. The price is very affordable for how much you get. The house manager Bert was fantastic. He is very friendly and gave us great tips! He set us up with some friends to go on a horseback ride to a very private waterfall. We were the only ones there! It was a great experience and very affordable! The drive back to the house definitely needs a four wheel drive vehicle. About 15 minute drive to Quepos and 20 minute drive to Manuel Antonio. I definitely recommend this house rental. Would be amazing for families or friends traveling together.

The perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough great things about the house. The location is awesome and the view is beautiful. The house is very spacious, luxurious and has all the amenities. Even the drive to get there is adventurous. We loved being in the mountains where the air is pure and you're away from all the congestion of the major tourist cities like Manual Antonio. After spending most all of our days on adventures it was great to come back to the quiet house in the mountains at the end of the day and relax by the pool. It's only a short drive to some of the best restaurants in Manual Antonio (Emilio's and Cafe Melagro were our favorites). The caretaker Bert was great for recommendations of places and helping us find the house for the first time. A 4x4 vehicle is a must especially in the summer/rainy season as the house is in the mountains. We loved it and will absolutely be returning here for all of our future trips to Costa Rica!

Awesome House for Adventure Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This house is fantastic! its really spacious with the 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and new. The pool was great. The kitchen had everything you needed including all the little things that you don't normally get with a typical house rental. Our white water rafting, zip lining, 4 wheeling with a waterfall jump/ swim and mangrove monkey tours were just the best! I would 100% recommend hiring Tony, the maintenance guy, to do some driving, local guiding and provisioning/errand running for you. Tony's help was invaluable and he saved us money by getting locals pricing on the tours as well. Not to mention, we cried from laughing so hard from his stories. The house is a super home base from which you can create some awesome memories.
