Sandstone Retreat is a luxury vacation get-away in the heart of Southeastern Ohio. Whether you are looking for the perfect romantic get-away for 2, a relaxing place to vacation with the whole family, or an upscale hunting cabin, you will love Sandstone Retreat. This quiet, private property has a pond with a dock, and a large deck overlooking the water. The fully-furnished cabin has luxury accommodations for 9, including a king bed, and a hot tub. A Gathering Barn with full second kitchen for open air dining and plenty of games in the lean too section to the left. This space provides hours of entertainment.

The spacious cabin has a relaxing and homey feel and accommodates up to 8 people. The Master bedroom has a king bed, and easy access to the hot tub on the back porch thru glass doors. The loft has a private bedroom with a queen bed and a twin air mattress. The loft also has a full bath and a sitting room with a futon which can be made into a twin bed. Bedroom 3 on the main floor has a queen bed. A large main floor bath serves bedroom 1 & 3 and has a large walk-in shower. All linens are provided, pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels. Comfortable seating in the Living room provides a relaxing place for good conversations, playing games or watching a movie on the smart screen. A fully stocked kitchen provides dinnerware, cookware and serving dishes for cooking your own meals if you choose to. Appliances include a fridge and stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, we have a flexbrew, [carafe and k-cups], toaster, blender, and electric tea pot. The large dining room table easily accomodates your whole group. A washer and dryer are available in the laundry room.

This is not your average cabin that only provides you with a place to sleep. Staying at Sandstone Retreat is a relaxing experience, rejuvenating both body and mind. The property is secluded enough to be quiet and peaceful, yet open and spacious, providing you with many different options to occupy your time.
Two kayaks, and a paddle boat are available for your enjoyment on the pond. We allow swimming, (at your own risk, and discretion, We are not responsible for accidents). Our guests love feeding the fish from the deck, with the fish food we provide. The back porch where the hot tub provides luxurious relaxation, also has a shaded sitting area, where you can enjoy the view of the pond.
. The charcoal grill is conveniently located on the patio, with a shaded picnic table and plenty of seating on the deck for additional outdoor dining space.
Along with the patio area and deck, the extensive grounds include a lowered fire ring area surrounded by sandstones where you can gather around the fire and roast hotdogs and marshmallows, or cook dinner over the fire. The night sky is beautiful out here in the country, the stars seem brighter when there's no lights to compete. [ask us how to turn off the pole light for star gazing]
The game room is in a separate shop building and has a large area where you can find ping pong, foosball, air hockey, table shuffleboard, corn toss and more. A playground set keeps the little ones occupied. There are hiking trails for you to explore during your stay. Be sure to check out the She shed in the back yard and visit the outdoor rustic photo booth to document all the memories you made at Sandstone Retreat.

A wide driveway, and large parking area, provide plenty of space for parking.

We are 15 miles from the historical twin towns of Malta/McConnelsville and the Twin City Opera. You will find many unique and interesting shops to browse, along with delicious food and a wonderful coffee shop with fresh baked goods, and soup n' sandwiches.

Sandstone Retreat, is located 1 mile off the state route on a gravel road which can occasionally have seasonal challenges. If you book in the wintertime (Jan-Mar) a 4- wheel drive vehicle is recommended.

Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.

We now have DSL internet service at this location. Service is fairly reliable, but is not guaranteed as we are out in the country and occasionally may be interrupted. We have a smart screen. We do not have cable TV. We do now have Starlink for our Gathering Barn.

We have a charcoal grill. You are welcome to use the charcoal and lighter fluid other guests have left there or bring your own. We do not provide the charcoal.
