Even better than expected
We stayed in this great villa this summer. It had incredible views. was extremely well equipped and had more than enough space for 12 of us. In fact I don’t think the pictures even do it justice. We were so well looked after by Flo and the owners were so helpful with any questions we had. All in all we had the most wonderful holiday. Make sure you have a car with a good clutch though as it is up a very steep hill - hence the fabulous views! We would definitely go back.
Clean, lots of space, really nice pool with a view. Highly recommend.
A Dream Holiday!!
Villa Mirovili is everything it promises and more. I cant even begin to explain what a dream holiday we had here. Not only is the owner and all the staff at the Villa incredibly helpful and friendly, but the views, location and layout of the Villa is unrivaled.
We will definitely be back and I can recommend this villa with absolute confidence to anyone planning a trip to Skiathos.
Wow - No other words needed
We stayed at this lovely villa surrounded by stunning scenes and olive groves. It really felt like home - everything you needed but not cluttered with other guests stuff. A very stylish interior and lovely paintings done by the owner of the villa made our stay so comfortable. It is hard to drag yourself away from the fab pool and the views to Skiathos town so we went to the beach in the morning and used the pool in the afternoon. The pictures don't really do justice to how lovely this is.
Make sure you get a powerful car to get up the quite steep approach to get up to the villa. As with all places with a fantastic view there is always the climb up. But it is steep but quite quick to get there - about 10 mins and you get used to it. A couple of local restaurants are handy if you don't fancy driving in to town. We went in for dinner most nights and recommend Marmita in town and Agnadio with views to the airport and football pitch - don't be put off as planes don't land often and when the do everyone films them coming in to the short runway. It is part of the Skiathos experience.
I loved that the owners through of everything you need - even a fridge in the master bedroom so you can use the sun terrace outside without having to pad downstairs for cold drinks. The cleaning staff (family) were lovely as well and so discreet and friendly, as were the pool man and Flo the manager - made us feel welcome.
Don't hesitate just book it - we hope to return one day.
Skiathos offers more than 50 beaches that surround the island. All beaches have crystal clear water that is perfect for swimming and snorkelling. The most popular beaches have one or more full service restaurants just a few meters from the beach. The smaller beaches have small wood-made bars that offer drinks, and most of the time, good food.
The northern part of the island features beaches that are accessible only by boat. The most magnificent northern beach is Lalaria beach with its characteristic rock arch. Most northern beaches are pebbled ranging from green to purple colors. On windy days, the small local transport boats do not come to the northern beaches.
Skiathos town is vibrant, energetic and friendly town. It has two ports, one for passenger ferries and a second one (the old port) which accommodates the local transport boats to the beaches and surrounding islands.
It's many restaurants offer a great variety of Greek food ranging from small establishments providing Gyro and Souvlaki sandwiches to larger restaurants that offer great variety of salads, grilled meats and fish and traditional dishes. It is all very good and this is one thing visitors never forget.
There are many shops for small gifts, jewelry, art, summer clothes to accommodate everyone's budget
Skiathos offers a variety venues to enrich the visitors' experience. There are several active monasteries which welcome visitors. The largest one is Evangelistria monastery which also maintains a well appointed folk museum that contains artifacts from modern history of Greece.
The Kastro is a Byzantine era fortification where the population lived at various periods through the long history of this region. It is worth a visit, particularly during early morning or late afternoon. There is a friendly taverna at the beach below which can be reached by foot.
There are 25 well marked hiking trails that range from easy to moderate difficulty everywhere on the island. These trails offer scenic hiking amidst diverse environments that include pine forest, olive groves, rocky shores with sea views, as well as dense shrub and trees with small creeks. A well done book of all the trails written by Ortwin Widmann can be purchased in stores on the island, at the Evangelistria Monastery as well as online.
