My husband and I couldn't be happier with the time we spent on Maces Bay. The house is well-represented in the photos and was spotlessly clean and situated on a quiet road, with fantastic views of the bay. It was more than enough space for the two of us (we used one bedroom and kept the other as a "dressing room"). The bedrooms might be a little small for some folks, but the bed was quite comfortable, and the rooms perfectly functional for our needs. The living room/dining area / kitchen was all open concept and quite roomy and comfortable. The porch extends the width of the house, so was the perfect spot for morning coffee, evening meals, or just relaxing! Barb and Dwight are consummate hosts--they've truly thought of everything! They greeted us on our arrival, and were easily available (and quick to respond) to us via text message during our stay when a question came up. The house had every possible thing we could've wanted--and more than we imagined it would...by far the most well-appointed property we've ever rented (and we've rented all around the world). The kitchen included basic spices, oil/vinegar, a large selection of teas, coffee, dishwashing soap, towels, cleaning supplies, and all of the utensils and cooking equipment anyone might need. The bathroom was well-stocked with soaps/shampoos, tissue, and even basic first aid items! The gas for the grill was even included (though we unfortunately didn't end up using it like we had originally planned to do). There were even maps/guide books of the area, umbrellas, games, music CDs, DVDs, and books at our disposal. So many thoughtful touches! It's only about 30-45 minutes to St. Andrew's or St. Stephen or St. John (or even Calais, Maine), and only 2.5 hours from Hopewell Rocks--which we were able to visit to see the "flowerpots" for both low and high tide in a day trip...as well as squeeze in a winery visit and an awesome dinner along the way back. We truly hope to be able to come stay here again in the not-too-distant future, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property to anyone we know who's headed to New Brunswick for a visit!
