Once again this is one of the most beautiful places around. The perfect place for the veterans to heal. Thank you so much for having everything ready to go for us. Looking forward to next year.
THE VIEW WAS AMAZING, THE HOUSE WAS VERY NICE, VERY ROOMY, ROAD TO THE HOUSE WAS A LITTLE STEEP, REALLY HARD TO GET USED TO THE ELEVATION BUT OVERALL GREAT STAY AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

Hi John! I'm so glad that y'all had such a great time and that you enjoyed the view and the house. Y'all are welcome back anytime!
Everything that was promised, was everything we asked for and more.. even had some snow which the kids loved, n we had a great time, but for anybody who wants to stay here, ahead of time, during October though the winter months, you need a 4 wheel dr, or all wheel drive. A front wheel drive will not make it with even a bit of snow up the steep hill to get to cabin. But everything she promised was there. I have nothing bad to say about about our family vacation. Thankyou n we'll being coming back again.
Aspen Lakehouse was wonderful for my family get-together. The setting was beautiful with the nearby trout-filled lake and the aspen trees at their peak color while we were there. The cabin was spacious and well-equipped. Lots to do in the area including fishing, hiking, exploring the back roads, and visits to Victor and Cripple Creek. The host was very responsive. We had one minor maintenance issue while we were there, and it was taken care of very quickly after contacting the host. Aspen Lakehouse is highly recommended, and we look forward to staying there again in the future.
This is a beautiful property. It is remote, as advertised. It had everything that our family needed. The dirt road coming in, the driveway, is extremely steep… And when wet, may not be passable by all cars. We will definitely come stay again.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Ashley! We're so glad y'all enjoyed your stay.
Re: the driveway, yes, definitely a steep mountain driveway. We require 4WD during the winter, and definitely recommend it in the summer too, as the weather, if wet, can make it challenging.
Thanks again, and come back anytime!
It was awesome. We stay at the Aspen House because it’s close to the reservoir and we teach wounded veterans the art of fly fishing. It’s a very healing sport that helps veterans in need.

Hi Jerry, we love hosting you and the group of vets! Y'all are always welcome.
What a view! I still can’t get over the beautiful location of this property and the stunning view from the wrap-around porch. We spent many hours just relaxing out there and taking it all in. Very comfortable stay for our group of 11 with 3 full bathrooms and 2 large master suites plus smaller bedrooms. Very clean, huge kitchen, lots of table/seating space. Short drive to Cripple Creek and Victor which were neat historic towns, plus a lovely reservoir/rec area just down the hill. (Just be mindful of the super high altitude and take it easy if you’re not used to it!!) Owner very kind and responsive. Very easy check-out procedures too. Loved everything about this stay and property!
This was our first blended family vacation and it couldn’t have been spent at a more perfect location. The pictures do not do the property justice! The panoramic Mountain, reservoir, and wooded views were nothing short of incredible. The property had nearby amenities that kept us entertained and helped us to bond. Thank you for letting us share your tiny piece of treasure with our family!

Hi Kassie, thanks so much for your kind words, and we could not be happier that you and your family enjoyed our home. I totally agree that it is such a good place to bond, and am glad y'all experienced that! Y'all are welcome back anytime.
We enjoyed staying at this house with several families over Labor Day weekend. The property has amazing views and Skaguay Reservoir is great to boat, fish, and SUP in!
This home was what every picture perfect winter wonderland should look like. The house was well stocked and had everything to make our family feel at home. We will definitely be back. Thank you for having us!!
Everything about the cabin was great. The only problem that our group had was the 6 mile dirt road going into the cabin and the driveway going up to the cabin after you pass through the gates. The dirt road was all washboard and we felt every bump on our motorcycles. The driveway had a lot of washouts in it and three people in the group to put their bikes over. Total of 6 times. Everyone except for the trikes parked their bikes down by the gate and had to walk up the driveway.

Hi Chris!
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at the cabin!
Re: the bikes not making it up the driveway; we've had a lot of rain, and didn't realize how bad the road was, so I can't apologize enough for the difficulty in getting the bikes up the driveway. We were recently at the houses and realized how badly the driveway needed to be graded (and had it done immediately)! Sadly, we do not have that same ability with the gravel county road, but I hope that despite the driveway issue, y'all had a great time.
Y'all are welcome back anytime.
House was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room, house was very clean, and amazing views. Definitely need a 4x4 if visiting in the winter season.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this place when we saw the beautiful house tucked away in a valley with over 40 acres of aspen, blue spruce and open meadows. We enjoy the majestic views of the mountains, the serenity of overlooking Skaguay Reservoir and hiking in one of the prettiest valleys along Beaver Creek. The many custom features of the house were another attraction from the gourmet kitchen, to the spacious living areas, the huge windows, and wide wrap around deck for relaxing outdoors.
What makes this property unique
The large wrap around deck affords expansive views of the mountains and lake. At 9,100’ elevation the house is wonderfully comfortable with gentle breezes and low humidity. The house is situated among the aspens with no other houses in view from the front deck which gives the place of sense of calm and serene seclusion. In the mood for a peaceful and quiet place to stay? Then this is the setting. Within walking distance of the house is Skaguay Reservoir and Beaver Creek, which are excellent for fly fishing for trout. There is canoeing and boating on Skaguay Reservoir and hiking, backpacking and camping in one of the prettiest valleys along Beaver Creek. Nearby are lots of activities from gold mine tours, hiking and mountain biking at Mueller State Park (over 5,000 acres of parkland) and horseback riding, exploring scenic byways and historic gold mine towns, white water rafting the Arkansas River, antiquing, shopping and more. The property is only about an hour and fifteen minutes southwest of Colorado Springs.
