Overview

About the property

Sleeps 6 with lovely views, sounds of the ocean, and plenty to see and do.

This home has been recently renovated and includes lovely views of the beach. This is a split duplex with another rental cottage on the other side. The master bedroom contains a queen sized bed and is perfect for a couple. The other large bedroom contains 4 twin beds and a futon. The view is great and the sounds of the ocean can put you to sleep no matter how stressed you are. The living room includes plenty of seating with a flat screen TV. Also, the home comes with WIFI but no phone. All appliances are new and the range and oven are gas. Comfortable restroom includes a tub. The front yard has been raised and offers views of the beach while the back patio includes a picnic table, propane grill and outdoor shower.

The home is located in a beautiful neighborhood with great year round neighbors as well as other guests. Also included are 2 parking spots, access to a private beach, great public beaches, and a village near by that is a great area for running/walking. We personally love a walk through the village or around Lake Elizabeth.

There is so much to do in this part of the cape. Plus, it is in a convenient central location so you can get anywhere on the cape in under an hour. Ferries leave regularly for Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket out of Hyannis and Falmouth. There is also an MBTA training that goes to Boston during the summer months. Speaking of trains you should visit the Murder Mystery Dinner Train for some fun and mystery.

This is a pet friendly home that will be great for a family or some friends.

About Elisabeth Ricci

I live in Central Massachusetts and my family has owned this property since 1989.

Why Elisabeth Ricci chose Cape Cod

Great duplex cottages located in the heart of beautiful Cape Cod with private yards on private roads where children can bike, skate or play ball. These charming cottages are steps away from the beach which has warm salt water, great sand and gentle surf. Deeded beach rights allow you the privacy of a private beach or a lifeguard protected beach. They are near Hyannis, shopping, and boat docks to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Historic Craigville Village with its 'ole Cape Cod' charm is within walking distance, as well as the famous 4 Seas Ice Cream Store and the Centerville 'penny' country store. Owner managed and maintained properties are well-suited for families. 'Seniors' like the laid back atmosphere especially in spring and fall when it is not so busy. If you enjoy sun bathing, body surfing in the ocean, building sand castles on the beach, romantic walks at sunset, or kite flying with your children, this is the place for you.

What makes this cottage unique

This home is in a very central location in Cape Cod. There is so much to do that you might spend years trying to do it all like I have. With the beaches, the book and antique stores, the museums and amazing restaurants, the boat access and the horseback riding, there is something here for everyone.

Sweet, comfortable Beach House

  • 4 of 5

Sweet beach house about 45 steps to the beach! Our second year at this house. We have 3 teenagers 14-19. They love the private loft upstairs. Kitchen is well stocked with small appliances and cookware. All beds were comfortable. We brought our own sheets and towels. Washer/Dryer are convenient and simple to use. Liz and Steve are always very helpful and attentive to any issues or needs that may arise. Large, clean outdoor shower is a Huge bonus too. Nice patio and gas grill. Only negative is the family room couch is tired 😮? Otherwise awesome beach getaway!!

Very comfortable stay in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, well-appointed and comfortable. We liked waking up to see the ocean daily and had our coffee outside. The beach was very nice and very quiet, maybe due to us being early in season. We were only a couple of miles from Hyannis so there was plenty of restaurants and activities to chose from. We cruised out of Hyannis twice on Hyline Cruises to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Only an hour boat ride to each. We took a ride to Provincetown one afternoon which also took an hour. The house was centrally located and had everything we needed. Landlord was very accommodating and accessible if needed. Thanks for a great stay!

Summer 2016

  • 4 of 5

The home was very nice, had everything as described in listing. Location & neighborhood was excellent. Dishwasher & washer/dryer was a huge plus, living area was large & roomy and outside property was neatly maintained. Owners were pleasant when I met them for check-in. House could have been a bit cleaner. Fridge should be completely cleaned out between renters (in my opinion). I cleaned out remaining food & shelving as it was dirty. Other than that, no complaints. We had a great experience & vacation.

Beautiful Beach House!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved every moment of our vacation staying at the Sunset Ave. home. The house was very clean and the perfect size for our family of four with extra beds upstairs. We loved that the beach was just steps away and close enough to everything else The Cape has to offer. It was a very quiet neighborhood and enjoyed spending time out on the patio watching the surf. The owners were very friendly and willing to help with anything at all. We'd definitely stay here again!

So much is close by it's hard to list it all. Here are some of my favorites.

Main St Hyannis, great shops and restaurants There is also an arcade and carousel 3.5 mi

Puff The Magic Cigar Lounge 3 mi. Say hi to Dave for me!

Cape Cod Beer 4.2 mi. The local beer is great! Tours and tasting. Beer events regularly.

Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory 5.3 mi. Best chips ever! Even better when you get to take some home from this family fun tour.

Cape Cod Winery, it's about 20 minutes away but worth a visit.

Four Seas (1 mi) World famous ice cream (and a nice sandwich for lunch) This ice cream shop has been here since 1934. Images of President Kennedy sitting outside with a cone has become of American iconography and my wife won't leave the cape unless she has had her cantaloupe ice cream.

Great Kite flying right across the street.

Provincetown is an hour away and totally worth the day trip!

The Melody Tent 2.5 mi has weekly headliner performances, check out their site!

If you like music you'll also love Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra.

I have been to sushi restaurants across the country, including Boston, yet the best I have had by far is Misaki Sushi less than 2 mi away and I have to visit each time I go to the Cape. Make a reservation for the full course chefs dinner. You will be served amazing foods that are not even on the menu. Their selection of Japanese whiskey and sake are unbeatable!

Hyannis has two ferries, you can take a trip to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard and have a vacation within a vacation!

Or take a trip deep sea fishing or world class whale watching.

If it rains there's still great things to do. We have a great movie theater and decent shopping mall with a Barnes & Noble. (3.5mi)

Even the choice for breakfast has many options, Persy's Place (3.6mi) and The Daily Paper (1.7mi). There's even an IHOP and Panera's a bit further away.

Want something a bit more mature? There are 2 nude beaches on the lower end of the cape. If that's your thing a day trip to Truro and Provincetown can get you all the sunburn on those sensitive areas that you can handle. The restaurants and shopping there are great. Not to mention the museums and people watching.

The cape has dozens of wonderful towns and villages for day trips, one of my favorites are Woods Hole, with great museums, an aquarium, boating expeditions to see the local sealife. Woods Hole is also the home to the now famous Woods Hole Film Festival. Woods Hole is about 40 mi away.

The list just keeps going on and on. I have been coming here for 15 years and I still haven't seen all the good stuff.

Did I mention the golf? There are several great courses for all levels of experience. You may even end up rubbing elbows with a Kennedy. Oh the celebrities you may see. Try getting a picture of Taylor Swift for me!

I could go on and on. A good day for me would be going to Persy's Place with the family for breakfast, then spend the day playing golf or hitting great shops on Main st. Then in the evening meeting back up on Main st to see some street entertainment and blow off some steam at Puff The Magic or grab an ice cream.

I can't imagine a better place to spend a day, a week, or a month. Hope to see you there.
