it was a good way for me and my family to get away and relax for a week
It was a nice place to go and relax. It served it's purpose for what my family and I were looking for.
A wonderfull cabin for a family vacation!!
Our family of nine enjoyed our stay at Singletree Lodge. The cabin was very nice. We had everything we needed. The kitchen was equipped with all the cookware needed. All the rooms were very clean. We plan to book this place again. Johnnie Oliver, Ruby,SC
Great place for a gathering of 3sisters, families & grandpa/ma. Np wMany cooks in the kitchen!
Cozy, rustic feeling with modern amenities. Plenty of room in open concept kitchen for multiple cooks. Stair steps a bit uneven & rickety/noisy(youngsters and seniors take care). Firepit seating a bit unstable and could be widened out to include another bench but other than that a wonderful gathering place. Grateful for filled hummingbird feeder &bonus wood left on site (not incl) and plenty of seats on porch w/awesome view. Porch swing and hammock a nice plus. Driveway could use some regrading & labels for multiple switches in kitchen & LR would be helpful. Clear directions, instructions and courteous service from Carolina Vacation staff much aporeciated!
5 star if the gravel road wasn't as bad
The cabin itself was very nice, especially for how affordable it was. We slept 10 people comfortable in the 5 rooms and the 3 showers were adequate. We never ran out of hot water. Several people fell asleep in the hammock and the rest enjoyed themselves lounging in the rocking chairs or swing. The rental company was nice to work with. The location was great since our plans consisted of hiking in the Smoky Mountains, rafting the Nantahala, and dinner in Asheville.
However, the gravel road leading up to the house and the gravel driveway made the experience uncomfortable. The gravel is extremely uneven, to the point where it's like driving across 5+ speedbumps. Since the gravel road is all uphill to the house, you have to get momentum or you might end up sliding backwards or getting stuck in certain spots. Having to go fast over slippery uneven gravel and then slowing down fast before you hit the house is an experience I would have rather not have had my guests have to go through.
If the road to the house was paved, I would definitely rate this house as 5 star. However, uphill slippery uneven gravel is not fun to navigate, especially at night. There wasn't any danger, it was just uncomfortable and made my guests want to limit the number of times they had to go up it.
Relaxing at its finest
7 of us mostly kids. And no one was disappointed! It was a great place plenty of room homey atmosphere loved the porch and fire pit the most it was nice not thinking about TV or video games! Even though it was acceptable no one seemed interested in them! :) Between going a not to far distance to Brevard to hike waterfalls to a short trip to Catalochee reserve to see bears and elks I have to say the vacation was a winner!! You can bet we would come see yall again! Driveway was a little sketchy the first day but they smoothed it out the next day. Much better!
Very nice cabin. Would rent again in a heartbeat.
We had a group of nine. Plenty of room for all. Never felt crowded. There is a huge table for everyone to eat together. The only draw backs was finding it. There is no sign marking the cabin from the driveway and the one on the outside of the door is faded. The driveway is the hardest. Don't try turning in the driveway as you are going up the mountian. Instead go past the cabin to where the next "T" intersection. Turn around and approach the drive on the way down. Much easier.
Again fantastic cabin.
