Stayed here this fall (2017). We had a pleasant stay even though the weather didn't want to cooperate. The view from the master bedroom is amazing to wake up to. Very clean and neat. Owners are super responsive. Would stay again for sure.
Very nice place to relax. Beautiful lake views and close to a public beach area.
Several members of my family were in the area from various places for the weekend and this was a wonderful alternative to the local hotels. We had a great stay.
Relaxing stay with family
My family is spread around and we decided the time had come for a few days away from it all to enjoy being together. This was perfect!
The living area was great for everyone who was cooking to stay involved. The kitchen was well equipped.
The best part was the outside space! We enjoyed sitting on the deck, watching activity on the lake, later moving down to the fire near the lake.
The neighboring houses are owner occupied; so this area is generally quiet and peaceful, not full of loud partiers. Just the ticket for a relaxing chance to reconnect with family!
The Oneida Lakehouse
The lake house was excellent for our needs.
I would suggest the owner include linen cleanup w/o question - Bathroom towels were not present upon our arrival which was no big deal as we had brought our own. I had not realized they were provided before rental and had brought all our own linens as I had discussed availability of sheets before renting. Kitchen towels were there though. Cable/Satellite television is advertised, but the only television was HD Antenna. It was OK and we did not suffer. It's a Lake house, you shouldn't be watching TV, but if you wanted to or if by chance the rains or inclement weather had appeared, you might not be able to.
All in all, it was a pleasant stay. The contact for the property was hospitable. Communication was minimal and they require a lease before you take the property. The home is in excellent condition and care is obvious. Leave a little time for you to close up the place. It's a great little rental. The price is worth it. If I stay again, it would be for a week instead of a weekend.
We are happy you enjoyed the lake house Thomas and apologize for any confusion regarding the linens. For future reference, all necessary linens are included with the rental- including bedding and bath towels (located in the closet at the top of the stairs)- however, we do ask that if you use the linens provided you wash them prior to departure. This allows us to keep rental and cleaning costs to a minimum (many other home rentals in the area charge a cleaning/linen fee). For our guests that do not have time/desire to clean linens prior to departure, we do recommend they bring their own to avoid any inconvenience. As you mentioned, the house does have a LCD TV with HD Antenna that gets about 30 stations and a DVD player for those rainy days…as well as some board games for family fun! See you next year!
Beautiful place to stay!
We loved the place! It was clean, quiet and the yard was big. The views from inside the house were beautiful with all the windows! Enjoyed the fire pit located down near the water. Went fishing, kayaking, and tubing. There were six adults and there was plenty of room for all. We would definitely return except the only downfall were the mattereses. The twin beds we're very uncomfortable and the guest queen bed was also uncomfortable. Other than that we really loved everything about the place! Pat was very accommodating with any questions we had. A very relaxing place!
Glad you loved the house Sharon! Based on your recommendation we have placed all new mattresses and box springs in the bedrooms this month (including the queen bed and two twin beds) …they are very comfy!! We look forward to having you back next summer. 😊
We have stayed A NUMBER of weeks, at "the Lake House'. The lake house provides an amazing opportunity to unwind outside the city.
There are many things we enjoyed about the lake house. Our favourite stories: having a morning cup of coffee out on the lake in a kayak watching sun rise; our daughters sitting on the end of the dock (past their bed time) looking up at the stars, listening to the fish jump; campfires and smores of course; snowshoeing / cross country skiing the lake; relaxing with a glass of wine looking out the huge master bedroom window onto the lake during rain and snow storms.
Overall its a slice of paradise. We're happy to have spent the better part of the past two years here. We look forward to visiting again soon!!!
The Alexanders :)
The home is less than five minutes by land or water from marinas, Free State boat launch, boat rentals, public golf course, Town Park, and great restaurants. The convenient location is in the center of the lake shore in Bridgeport, NY, so it is only 20 minutes East to Sylvan Beach and 20 minutes West to Oneida Shores Park. Although hard to believe when gazing at the lake, if you’re up for more action it is also only a 25 minute drive to Turning Stone Casino, Destiny USA Shopping Mall, and Downtown Syracuse (Armory Square).
