Our family moved from Lancaster County, Amish farm country in Pennsylvania to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1997. We had vacationed Colorado and loved the scenery, weather, and fun loving people. We enjoy hiking, flyfishing, biking, cross country skiing and the beautiful Colorado sunny skies and wild flowers. We skied more when our 3 sons were younger. They are now off to college and their own careers so we have time to share our home, particularly in ski season but also some weeks in the summer.
Marguerite purchased this House in 2002
Why Marguerite chose Steamboat Springs
We chose to buy our home in Steamboat in 2002 after an extensive search of Colorado's ski towns. We particularly liked the welcoming western appeal of Steamboat. It has the home town feel that many of the other ski resort areas lack. There are so many activities year round for the family (check out the Steamboat Springs site for the dates and details) Steamboat also provides easy access with a 3 hour drive from Fort Collins that is not congested like I-70 which can be a tough ride with its long lines of traffic. The airport at Hadden has direct flights for many of our family back east.
What makes this House unique
Each bedroom has it own private bath with bathtub or shower which works well with our family and our guests. The rooms are bright and pleasant and the living room with the gas fireplace is cozy and warm.

We spent a week with friends and family. A total of 6. Location was perfect for us. A little walk from the house to the bus, but not bad! The home has easy access and parking, and the heated garage was great. Room for two cars. The kitchen was well appointed and we were happy for that because we cooked, and even used the crock pot for soup. The bedrooms were all cozy and each had its own bathroom. Thats a treat! We also enjoyed the hot tub. Overall, a hint dated, but very clean, quiet, well maintained and the views are amazing. If you have the opportunity to rent this gem, do it! I hope to be back soon. Thanks!
Amazing house, great location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Steamboat Springs! The house was in a great location, short drive to the mountain and downtown area. Marguerite was very helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again!
So glad that you enjoyed your stay, Jamie!
We love to hear that our guests feel our home is comfy and met their needs.

Came with family for 40th birthday getaway! Beautiful views with snow everywhere. Very comfortable home with all the details provided: plenty of towels, basic spices in kitchen, sugar, coffee filters, ice trays, detergent, and so on! Love that you have a recycling bin. Heated garage is a nice touch too.
The heater works WELL! When the owners say to leave it at 50 at night, they mean it! We are from Houston and cranked it because we just don't do cold! I must have gotten up 4 times that first night to keep turning the heat down. Ended up leaving it at 50 for the night and got the fan from the closet too! (master bedroom).
Hot tub was so nice after a full day of skiing! My sisters were jealous that their room did not have robes like ours did!
I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you for a wonderful trip!
Thank you, Staci! So glad that you enjoyed your Steamboat stay!

Cozy, Comfortable and Convenient
This beautiful home perfectly suited the needs of our family, offering great amenities like a hot tub, gas fireplace, propane grill, regular snow removal on the deck and driveway, and well appointed kitchen and laundry facilities. It was easy to maintain comfortable temperatures in every room, no matter what the temperature outside, and the garage doors were tall enough for us to get our SUV into the garage with a travel topper attached for convenient loading and unloading.
The location was excellent too, only minutes away from the hub of Steamboat's bustling ski resort, shopping, and restaurants, but just slightly around the mountain and above a residential area, so it was quiet and dark at night. The views were as amazing as advertised, and included bright stars, snowy mornings, postcard views, and even playful birds in the trees out front.
We really appreciated the helpful suggestions and clear instructions from our host, which made our arrival, stay, and departure uncomplicated, fun, and stress free. This was a vacation we will never forget, and we hope to return again!
Dear Steve and family,

Beautiful home and very comfortable to stay there.
The owner was very easy to work with and the property was wonderful. It was very clean and plenty of room for the whole family. The stove in the living room was cozy and warm.
So glad that you enjoyed your Steamboat stay Sharon! We too love the comfy stove with the amazing snowy valley view.

Our stay here was so wonderful. The house is beautiful, we'll appointed, and is very welcoming.
The views are amazing. Had coffee on the deck in the morning and watched hot air balloons overhead. We were in the hot tub in the late afternoon and watched deer walk by....amazing stay here. Would stay here again.
