Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Living Areas, 3 Covered Porches, 2 1/2 Baths, Sleeps 11

This beautiful piece of heaven is perfect for a couple or a large family. It was completely renovated in 2010 and has CENTRAL air conditioning. It is on the banks of Lake Erie and has every amenity you would expect from the word 'luxury.' WIFI, Cable, Pottery Barn 400 thread sheets, Vera Wang towels, Cuisinart appliances and cookware, and place settings for 16.

Truly a touch of peaceful serenity. There are 3 porches plus a 3-seasons room off the back. The master bedroom has French doors that open onto a private upper deck. The master also sports a coffee bar and small frig just to make life a little easier.

The house sleeps 11 but there are so many special places to go, you hardly know there are others in the house. There is a natural gas grill on the back deck, (just turn it on) with TWO refrigerators downstairs. In the evening there is a great firepit for family time and roasting marshmallows while you watch some of the USA's top ten most incredible sunsets. (Firewood included.)

There is private beach access just down the block and there is a guarded sandy beach and playground a mile away at Freeport. The quaint little historic town of North East has a square in the center complete with statue and fountain. It is a sweet little area with a Farmer's Market on Thursday morning, and live concerts and kid friendly events all summer long. Stop in at 'For Olde Tymes Sake' and shop for some great antiques.

Mercyhurst College, a restored seminary dating back over 130 years ago is just outside of town and a gorgeous landmark in the area. In town you will also find Bella Day Salon and Spa for a great massage in a Victorian elegant mansion.

The food in the area is amazing. Foodies will love the authentic local Italian, Polish and German cuisines. We will leave you a list of some of our favorites.

We can't leave out that this is a 'Fisherman's Paradise.' With walleye and Lake Erie perch Charters available daily to fly fishing in local creeks for incredible trout. If you're not catching, you're not showing up.

Don't forget to book your time for the gorgeous Autumn leaves. You walk outside and the smell of fresh grapes permeates the air. Pumpkin patches, apple cider, gorgeous leaves and late summer vegetables are everywhere.

Winter will offer you lots of opportunity to take advantage of Peek 'N Peak Resort and Spa, only 20 miles up the road. Snow skiing, ski-dooing, tubing, cross country skiing and just plain winter fun.

You are more than welcome to come visit our gorgeous vacation home no matter what the season. And we know you will love it as much as everyone else who has come to visit.

Picturesque!

  • 4 of 5

The property was clean, decorated beautifully, and has a breath-taking view. The only downfall is that there were not enough towels/sheets provided for the number in our party. The owner provides extra linens, but you must wash, dry and return to a closet (or be charged a $50 fee). I believe that since you must disclose the number in your party, (we had nine and four towels were out), basic towels/sheets should be provided for all guests , without penalty.

Lovely home with beautiful scenic views!

  • 5 of 5

Great location and the most stunning views. Lovely, well cared for home with everything you could ask for. We brought a few utensils and spices and soaps and other cleaning supplies that we never used because someone had either left them behind or the kind owner had supplied them! This is not the norm in our previous rentals .... one item of note is the access to the lake. The trail about 5 doors down that leads to the water is quite rocky and there were large pieces of cement as well that were kind of blocking the way down to the small rocky beach. Luckily we had some young men with us and they were able to help us down to the water. It is not a beach where you set up your towel or chair but okay for launching the rowboat they brought and for skipping rocks and looking for unique rocks and sea glass. The beach that is better for sitting out and possibly swimming is down the road a piece, Freeport Park/Beach. There is a playground and places to gather with groups for grilling ..... the beach again is quite rocky so wear your water shoes! .... Wineries and the quaint town of North East are all within a short drive. The guys played golf which was also close by. Presque Isle State Park is lovely, too. The beaches there had sand and were large and great for the kids as they could go out quite far in shallow water. This Park is about an hour away though. We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely home

Lake Erie Home

  • 4 of 5

Our family of nine enjoyed our stay at this lovely house in North East, PA. It’s quaint decor and variety of cozy areas allowed our family to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. Our granddaughters loved the sunroom, and our grandsons enjoyed playing baseball in the large yard. There is steep drop-off at the back of the property, allowing a great view of Lake Erie. It is well equipped with everything you will need. The private beach was not accessible this year due to rising water levels, however, the public guarded beach down the road was fun for our entire family.

Lake front view

  • 1 of 5

Property had good view of lake. It states it sleeps 11, but really it's 6. The two sleeper sofas were so uncomfortable that we had to purchase air mattresses. The day of departure you have to be out at 10am. I spent the whole morning doing laundry. Contract states your responsible for washing towels in bedroom closet. All the towels

were in that closet. House is not in a private setting and had a call from the owner about a parking issue

Owner's Response: dear Kathy The home sleeps 11, 8 adults 3 children. Maybe your preference of comfort is different, other renters have not complained knowing that sofa sleepers are not the same as plush beds. If you read the pdf. agreement it states that if you take extra towels from the linen closet you need to wash and replace them. All other linens are washed by cleaning people. There is ample parking in the driveway and along the street. This home is on a private road which gets very little traffic and is a very quiet neighborhood.
