The Seaglass Cottage is a cozy, fully remodeled property an easy five minute walk from seven miles of sandy Old Orchard Beach, shops, restaurants, and amusements.
It features an open back porch with picnic table which is perfect for morning coffee or family meals, lobster bakes, or hamburgers cooked on the nearby gas grill. An enclosed front porch offers a double futon & day bed. The well maintained large front yard can be a play area for children. The cottage also features a large knotty pine living room with flat screen TV and DVD, an eat in dining room, with seating for 6, two air conditioned bedrooms (one with 2 twin beds, 1 with a queen sized bed & flat screen TV/DVD, both air conditioned), FREE WI-FI, two bathrooms, fully equipped eat in kitchen with microwave, washer & dryer, off street parking for 2 cars. Sleeps 6.

PERFECT Beach House for a family vacation! Marc & Martha thought of everything for their renters needs. Location was walking distance to everything, yet far enough to not be disturbed by the beach nightlife. Not only were towels and linens supplied, but all the necessities for a stress free day at the beach are provided, including umbrella and a wagon to carry it all. Cottage was exactly as described and the Maine beach decor carried throughout was adorable right down to drawer pulls. The Maine gift waiting on arrival is a super sweet and appreciated touch. Definitely recommend and hope to come back!

We had a great time here at Old Orchard Beach. This house was very conveniently located to everything and in a pretty neighborhood. It was clean and had everything we needed.I have two small suggestions for the owner: (1) I had a bit of trouble finding the address, so it would help to include that in your checkin instructions; (2) the streetlight outside the master bedroom is bright, and it'd be nice to have a darker curtain.Thank you so much for having us!

Cozy, clean home

Tee had a grey time with our stay at this home. It was clean, well stocked, had enough space for the 6 of us. The owners came over to check in with us the first day to be sure we were all settled which was sweet. They had plenty of beach towels, chairs, beach cart, grill, books, etc. we will for sure be looking to stay here again in the future!

Wonderful cottage, and great hosts

I think this is the best place we've ever stayed in OOB - and we've been going there for many years. Martha and Marc were there to welcome us when we arrived, and we felt at home as soon as we unloaded the car. They've thought of everything - we could have come with clothes and food and not needed another thing for the entire week. Linens, towels, beach towels, a great, rugged cart to haul stuff to the beach, air conditioners in the bedrooms (that actually work), fans throughout the house for every room, wifi, washer & dryer - just awesome. I know it sounds silly, but I so appreciated being in a cottage that didn't look like an explosion at the Christmas Tree Shop (if you're regular visitors to OOB, you know exactly what I mean). Tastefully decorated, and something as trivial as having matching dishes and silverware made me feel like I was in my own home - just in a much better location. Speaking of the location - jackpot! A 5 minute walk down to the beach, 10-15 up to the pier, 5 or so to the mini-golf. Close enough, but just far enough away. We went to the OOB House of Pizza right up the street, and it was great. No need to go all the way up to the main drag. I would second what someone else mentioned below - the bed in the master is very, very firm. If that bothers your back, you might want to bring some sort of topper (non-latex, of course - allergies, you know) or plan on dragging in one of the twin mattresses from the other room, which is what I wound up doing. I would definitely come back to this property for another vacation. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed!

Wonderful Stay!

My family of 5 just spent the most wonderful week at Marc and Martha’s Old Orchard beach cottage! This home is beautiful, clean, fully stocked with everything you need and in the most ideal location to the beach and pier. My boys (9, 6 and 2) spent hours at the beach enjoying the waves and playing in the sand. The location was the most convenient walk to a beautiful beach—the house is equipped with a beach cart which makes bringing all the beach accessories that much easier! It was an easy walk to the pier (or a quick drive and parking) at night to enjoy the rides, food and fun! We loved every part of this house and location—We look forward to coming back!

We loved our stay at OOB. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Everything was very well stocked. There were tons of bath towels, beach towels, linens/blankets, beach blankets, etc. The beach cart was great for getting all of your stuff down to the beach, and they also supplied beach chairs and toys. You really don't need to pack much for your stay because they've covered just about everything. The location was great, too. It was a quiet area, a short walk to the beach, and just a bit further to the downtown tourist area. Recommended!

Incredible Cottage

I always read reviews but take what they say with a grain of salt. This little piece of heaven rec’d wonderful reviews so my sister and I booked it. you just cannot find another place like Seaglass Cottage. Marc and Martha are the best hosts, there is everything you need there and they provide things you do not need to bring with you. We invited two girlfriends to come spend a night with us and they just loved it too. we hope to rebook for another week next summer. It was soooo clean, beautifully decorated, color coordinated, perfect walk to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. It deserves 5 stars!

Owners Marc & Martha, both retired high school teachers, with a combined teaching career of 70 years hold Bachelor & Masters Degrees from the University of Southern Maine. He has lived in Old Orchard Beach all his life and she has resided there for the past 20 years.
The purchase, remodel and decorating of the SEAGLASS COTTAGE (located adjacent to our home) has been a labor of love. The complete overhaul of the property began in 2004, with the first rental tenants arriving summer 2005. An additional construction project in 2008 added the second bathroom and master bedroom. Successful and rewarding rental seasons (as can be noted by the reviews) have occurred ever since.
Marc's remodeling & construction skills combined with Martha's artistic eye and creativity, have helped to create a beautiful, comfortable, welcoming, coastal retreat perfect for making summer memories by the sea. Color choices, bedding, furnishings & decor all add to the coastal feel and provide tenants a "home away from home" easy to acclimate to, and hard to leave. Many tenants have made returned visits summer after summer.

The property's location provides the best that Old Orchard Beach has to offer! Close enough to easily walk to beach, pier & amusements, it's also far enough away from more noisy venues & in a quiet neighborhood, in large part inhabited by year round residents.

The available amenities always get positive reviews & are included to make the tenant's stay all the more enjoyable.
