Cozy 3rd Floor Apartment Near Downtown [5-6]

Our third-floor flat has been recently renovated. It is charming yet quirky. It is very centrally located and within walking distance to downtown Minneapolis. We are 8 blocks from the Convention Center & 0.7/mile from the lightrail. US Bank Stadium is less than a mile away, as well as Target Field, Uptown, downtown nightclubs, and the Mississippi River.

Our space is cozy and charming. There are two bedrooms and has a queen-size bed. It also has heat during the colder months and air conditioning in the common areas during the warmer months. Included in your stay is access to gigabit internet (50 times faster than most others). Our place is set up with our guests in mind. When you stay with us, we want you to make yourself at home. Feel free to make a meal in the kitchen stocked with all the essentials such as pots and pans. Brew a pot of coffee with the coffee we keep on hand just for guests. Or feel free to relax in our cozy living room and watch TV.

You will have access to the entire private apartment which includes 2 bedrooms, a living space, kitchen and dining area, and a full bathroom.

It is an old home with many unique quirks that have been well cared for. It is charming and quaint with tons of character, but it is over 100 years old, so you can expect the rooms to reflect the design of the Victorian period.

The place was spacious, charming, clean, and definitely cozy! We really enjoyed staying there. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Unfortunately the place is close to a market where people like to gather and it was noisy at night. However there were two great breakfast places nearby, Maria’s and Powwow Coffee, both highly recommended. It is also easily accessible by public transportation. It was easy to get downtown to all the places we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay again.

I genuinely liked the place I would re-rent this property if i was to ever see it up. The place was really cozy to me and my girlfriend and sister they enjoyed the property also, me and my girlfriend was talking about how this would be a good place to rent like an apartment how nice it is. This place was good for what was needed. The heat worked, there was good water pressure in the shower, and the living and sleeping areas were clean. There was a delay in our checkin, as the host mixed up dates, but was apologetic about the situation. The beds are not the most comfortable and you are on a corner lot, so there is road noise. This did not bother us, but is more a heads up to other guests. We did also have to ask for additional toilet paper, as only one roll was left for all four of us to use for our 4 day stay. It would have been nice to just have that on hand. We felt comfortable with the location and we were able to walk to US Bank stadium with ease.

Cultural experience

It was so neat to be in the middle of a diverse neighborhood. Close to everything we wanted to do. Host was communicative and the listing was very accurate to his description. I really loved that my kids were able to experience people and places out of their normal days because it’s so important for life lessons and human empathy. Loved our time in Minneapolis.

The apartment was as described inside, and had most of the basics. However, only 1.5 toilet paper rolls were provided for a 5 night stay with 4 guests, and we needed to go purchase our own. Shampoo / Conditioner were available, we went and purchased our own Body Wash. Would prefer for a rental to have better supply of these basics.The area off of Franklin Ave did not feel safe. This is a busy area of homeless population, including those who appeared to be under the influence of various substances. One person followed us after we calmly walked by, yelling and swearing at us, until we gave them one of our coffees. Every time we were on Franklin Ave we were approached and asked for money / food. I was very glad my husband and dad were on this trip, and would not have felt safe in the area if I were traveling alone.

Why they chose this property

We are within less than a mile and within walking distance to US Bank Stadium, downtown Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Children's Hospital, HCMC, and the Convention Center. We are just a couple miles from the center of the University of Minnesota, Uptown, Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet, Lake of the Isles, and Lake Nokomis. We love good food, so we can also point you in the direction of local eating hot spots. We appreciate its diversity and vibrancy and how centrally located it is to the entire metro!!

Because we are in the heart of the city, we get to experience people from broad cultural and economic backgrounds in a densely populated area. Our neighborhood, Ventura Village, is a part of the most diverse neighborhood in the entire country with over 100 languages spoken here! There are restaurants, healthcare buildings, old Victorian homes, apartment buildings, and non-profit organizations. We consider it a privilege to live here, but it being in the heart of the city is not for everyone. During your stay, you may encounter lingering people panhandling. If this makes you feel uncomfortable, we may not be the place for you. Obviously, you will want to exercise "street smarts" as you would in any major metropolitan area. If you are looking for a quieter stay in the Twin Cities, you may prefer looking outside of our neighborhood. But we hope you won't. :)
