Absolutely Loved "Two Rock Tree House"! We went for a relaxing weekend getaway and it was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

So cozy and decorated just like you would expect a well loved mountain cabin to be. It had all the amenities and alliances you need if you want to cook in (which we did because we didn't want to leave!). Thanks again for sharing your beautiful home! We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing, cozy and wonderfully decorated. My 5 year old absolutely loved the books provided, we read several of them while we were there. We would definitely recommend this and would book this house again!

Such a sweet and cozy place!

  • 5 of 5

Will definitely visit here again. Perfect size for a small family. Loved the kitchen and all the amenities. Boys loved that they could play inside if the weather didn't allow for outdoor play. Loved the community as well.

Unique cabin in the trees!

  • 5 of 5

We were fortunate enough to stumble upon this little cabin for a last minute getaway. No doubt about it- it's a hike to the front door, the gate is a little tricky carrying luggage but once inside it is cozy and feels bigger than it is. There were only 2 of us so we were quite comfortable. Owners have renovated with new cabinets and granite counter tops, nice new vanity in bath...Barn door that helps with space leading to bathroom. Had everything we needed- washer, dryer, appliances, toaster, bottle opener, assortment of glasses for wine, margarita's.. we had a couple mornings in the 30's and the wall heaters warmed the cabin up quickly, also had additional space heater which was no trouble to get out of the closet and it did a good job. Alex was very helpful and pretty quick to respond to any questions we had. We trailered a motorcycle, I would recommend looking at directions from homeowner. We didn't notice them so we googled it and that was not fun. We ended up down a dead end and had to unload motorcycle and trailer in order to get turned around. They do have one pretty sharp turns in the neighborhood that was a little tricky but we managed to get the truck and trailer to the cabin. A very quiet neighborhood, we did hear some music one night up the mountain. Other than that it was quiet as can be. No yard- if that is important but the cabin is literally between two giant rocks and the beauty of being up in the trees was amazing. Several sitting spots along with 2 Adirondack chairs, made good use of deck space. Had wished the freestanding gas stove had been hooked up. Leatherish rocker is a bit tipsy, be careful sitting down, I was fine but my husband thought he was going to flip over. Queen bed was fine for me a little soft for my husband. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

Quaint and fully equipped

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at this small cottage. It had everything we needed and was very nicely decorated. It was conveniently located to Boone, banner elk, valle crucis, and blowing rock. Lots of good hiking nearby. Julian Price park is a favorite! The owner was very nice to work with and responded quickly to any questions I had.

Banner Elk is the ski capital of the south and the city has just celebrated its 100th anniversary. The cottage is centrally located within 8 miles of the 4 ski/tubing resorts, the city of Seven Devils, Linville, Boone, Blowing Rock and the rural town of Valle Crusis. World-class restaurants serving superb mountain cuisine are scattered all over the area. Within a couple of minutes of Downtown Foscoe includes specialty shop's, antique stores , flea markets, country stores, old fashion gas station/grocery store (serving breafast, lunch and a Friday Fish Fry). Trout fishing, swiming holes, white water rafting.

The backroads hold offbeat settlements such as Valle Crucis,( latin for 'Vale of the Cross') off us-194 where the original 1883 Mast General Store well worth a look for its cast-iron, outdoor gear and a 5 cent cup of coffee. This rural community has stayed untouched for two hundred years.....or Maybe just do nothing and sit on our deck and smell the crisp fresh mountain air!
