Perfect Beach Cottage.

Cozy cottage on the beach. Perfect loft bedroom with a vaulted ceiling. Easy private acess to the beach. Owners were great to deal with. Appreciated the private driveway.

Fabulous place for a long (4 months) stay!

A very nice place with all a person could expect when staying on Oahu for an extended time. The host and hostess were a pleasure to be around and very hospitable and responsive to our every request. This place has it all, with ready access to the beach and all the other island amenities. We recommend this guesthouse to anyone!

Quiet and relaxing

Very nice house for a traveler. Loved the kitchen. Spent most evenings in a beach chair sipping on wine and watching the sunset go down. Even got an awesome treat of some dragon fruit, cucumber, and some freshly made cookies. Was in a quiet neighborhood, so coming in the evenings I felt safe.

Great experience.

Mike & Jeanette are wonderful hosts. This is our third time staying here & you can't go wrong. Convenient to everywhere you would like to go.

Cottage by the Sea

The guest house is spacious and clean. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We heard birds singing every morning. Walking on the beach in the early evening was beautiful and relaxing. Property manager met us on our first day and could not have been nicer or more helpful. Lots of crank windows allowed the trade winds to flow through the downstairs.

Comfy guest house with a private beach vibe!

This beach house felt very private and is just a few steps away from the beach! We would highly recommend this place for others who would like to getaway from all the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and the traffic...and a great place to just sit and put your feet in the sand after a long day of venturing around the island. Also, the outdoor bbq/seating area was great for relaxing and enjoying the tradewinds with breakfast or dinner. Mike was a very responsive and helpful host...a true home-away-from home!

Spring Break Getaway

This beach house was such a haven! We had such a great time in Oahu. The location is amazing. The stretch of Ewa Beach it sits on is a gorgeous, peaceful spot - beautiful sunrises and sunsets - picturesque view of Waikiki and Diamond Head from afar. You can enjoy the beauty, but not be stuck in the crowds of downtown. The house is so spacious, room to settle in and stretch out. The hosts keep it tidy, and have nice touches like local guidebooks & beach accessories. The bed is comfy, and the best part is sleeping with the ocean breeze coming through the windows every night. There is not only a full kitchen, with indoor seating, but an outdoor covered eating area as well!! We enjoyed the amenity of an in house washer and dryer - helped us cut down on what we packed and avoid the laundry mountain upon our return home! We felt safe and secure with a private entrance to the property and a gate to enclose our rental car when we were parked at home. Although we enjoyed the house, we spent a lot of time away from the rental as well - there are SO many things to enjoy and places to explore on the island. Mike gave us great local pointers on hikes and beaches on the West Coast. We enjoyed happy hour and live music in a resort in nearby Ko’Olina. Our host helped us plan out a circle island tour and not-miss spots! This was our second family trip to visit Oahu. We visited completely different sights each time and still have so much more to fill an itinerary with, next time! It was great to come back after a long day of adventures and relax and unwind in this home away from home. We loved this guesthouse, the hospitality we experienced, and how we were treated like Ohana here. Mahalo Mike!

Comfortable place a stone's throw from the beach

Very comfortable, older house that's far from the crowds of Waikiki. I enjoyed the great beach access and the fact that the beach is often empty, even at sunrise/sunset. Swimming isn't great in front of the main house because of the reef, but there's a beach nearby with a sandier bottom. Owner's are super friendly and responsive!

Roomy and great value for beachside location

My wife and I enjoyed staying at the Kolea Guesthouse. Nice beach to walk along and see sunsets. Great golf nearby. Ewa Beach Golf Club was an unexpected great experience and so close. Up and downstairs air conditioning was adequate for the unusual hot and humid weather we had. Wine glasses were either way too big or too small. This VRBO has the usual hodgepodge of dishes, silverwear and furniture, but was overall adequate. The grill worked fine.

Nice, quiet place, away from the hustle and bustle...

yet close to everything we wanted to see. Number one on that list was the grand kids who live in Ewa Beach, so this location was ideal. It's also a great place to start from. It's a bit of a drive to Kailua but doable. Getting to the north shore is just quick trip up the highway. The guest house had everything we needed for our week stay. The full size fridge came in handy when the kids' power went out for over a day! Each of the grand kids got their own futon so they could stay with us easily. There was enough breeze most days to avoid the air conditioning. A screen on the back door would really allow the breezes to cool things off! The beach is just steps away, but it felt awkward traipsing through the owners' yard! It's not much of a swimming beach, but that didn't stop the kids! It's a great place to park a beach chair and vege out. We had a great time and made many memories. Thank you!

It was a wonderful getaway property.

All the comforts of home along with condiments and a large variety of spices which we appreciated not having to buy. We appreciated the private parking and the overall cottage feel. We would highly recommend this place for others who would like to getaway from all the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and the traffic. The beach is a little bit rocky directly behind the property, however, there is nice sandy beach a short walk in either direction. There is a little bit of work of opening the many windows to bring in some breeze and to also close the windows when using the air conditioner, which is located upstairs. It wasn’t able to cool the cottage quite as much as I like it. I would also recommend that the owner invest in some better quality sheets and pillows for the bed upstairs. Other than that, we absolutely enjoyed our stay there.

Spacious guesthouse

This Ewa Beach guesthouse is wonderful—spacious, safe parking, washer/dryer, dishwasher, bath and half, cool cross breezes and ceiling fans as well as a/c (which we rarely needed), amazing, responsive hosts, outdoor covered, lighted bbq and eating/seating area. We chose this area for it’s many golf courses and out of Waikiki traffic, yet close to all island offerings, beaches, restaurants, etc.

Lovely guest house, we enjoyed it very much and will be coming back in the future. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to come to Oahu. It's a great location for getting away from the crowd's of Honolulu, but close enough to everything you would like to see.

Exactly what we wanted!

My husband and I loved our stay here! The house was clean, bright and spacious. The property was well kept and lovely. Our host was helpful when needed, yet it felt very private. The beach was not the best for swimming, but it was wonderful to have the sense of "owning" the beach--we made sure to go every day! The average trip into the Waikiki/Honolulu area was 25 minutes, but there was shopping nearby for groceries, etc. Given the chance, we would stay again in this lovely place.

Relaxing

We wanted to stay near our son and, away from all the touristy areas. The Guest House was just as we expected and more. It's located in a local area with a mix of old and new. Yet still close enough to everything touristy if you want. We had zero problems with anything. I just wish our visit would have lasted longer. Definitely would stay again. Maloha, Mike & Janette. Perfect beach getaway

Our stay at the beach house was perfect! The property was beautiful, well-kept, and very safe. When we arrived, the house was spotless and even had welcoming touches like a lovely bowl of fresh Hawaiian flowers from the yard. The house had more than enough space for me and my husband. The house had everything we needed and we felt right at home. The air conditioning unit also made sleeping at night very comfortable. The only thing better than the house itself was the gorgeous beach just outside! The beach was very quiet and often felt like a private beach with how few people occupied the area. We enjoyed reading on the beach and watching the surfers in the water. We spent many of our days our exploring Oahu, but always enjoyed retiring to our romantic beach house to watch the sunset. Mike was very attentive and available. We would definitely recommend this beach house to our friends and family! Thanks for the wonderful vacation - we will definitely be back!

Idyllic spot in Ewa Beach

Our family of four loved staying in this cottage. It has all the ammenities you could want or need from a rental home, and the owner, Mike, goes above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed - everything that embodies the Hawaiian spirit. We are dreaming of returning here one day because our children loved the house and the proximity to the beach. Clean, spacious and super charming, we felt like locals! Thank you, Mike, for sharing your wonderful guest house with us!!

Home away from home!

Enchanting to say the least! Spacious and exceeded our expectations! Situated in a quiet safe neighborhood and just an arms throw away from a very clean and enticing Ewa Beach! This Guesthouse lacked not one item and in fact was supplied with more than enough to make for a memorable vacation! Ewa Beach is where Mike took his first steps, built his first sandcastles and surfed his first waves. His father was a Naval Aviator stationed at NAS Barbers Pt and this stretch of beach is where his life began. His Dad's travels had the family moving about, but he kept returning to Ewa Beach where his heart belongs. He later lived on Ewa Beach Rd while serving as an Enlisted Sailor in the US Navy and again as a Junior Officer. Mike and Jeannette were married on this property and intend to make it their permanent home. Come visit!
