About Donald & Joanna Netzke
We reside in Southern California where we are raising our children. We have many family members dispersed amongst the Hawaiian islands and we visit them frequently. We travel extensively internationally as well. We appreciate the comforts of home when we travel, so it is with great pleasure that we can share our home with other travelers.
Donald & Joanna Netzke purchased this Condo in 1998
Why Donald & Joanna Netzke chose Kailua-Kona
There just is not any other spot in the world as unique as downtown Kona. We have been part-time residence for years and we still are learning new treasures that the Big Island has to offer. Plus, we like to spend time with our family members here in the islands and we have created many lasting memories for our children here and yet still have more to come.
What makes this Condo unique
This location is what sold us. We feel we can easily go an entire week without having to get in a car. The beauty of this spot is that it has it all within arms reach. Honestly though, the view from the lanai is hypnotic and with the breeze and the fresh ocean air, we can hardly peel ourselves away from the chaise lounges. Many good naps have occurred there!

Well kept and maintained. Quiet.
We loved the place, the location, the set up and Kona. We could walk to things in Kona and were directly across from the ocean. Would stay there again.
Lovely place, cental to many activities. Nice to hear and see the ocean. Joanna is a responsive and friendly host.
Very nice accommodations. This unit has everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay.
We have been coming to Kona for more than 20 years. This condo is a great place to call home for your stay. There are lots of ceiling fans to keep you comfortable. We were here for Winter and didn’t need to use the newly installed air conditioner. From beach towels, beach chairs, ice-chest, beach umbrella, boogie and surfboard you have everything in house for your day at the beach. The unit is comfortable and user friendly. I would recommend this beautifully outfitted home for a great vacation to the Kona Coast. You are right downtown for shopping and meals. The pier is a nice place to walk o after dinner.
It is in a wonderful location and the condo’s decor looks great. Lovely view if the ocean. Easy walk to restaurants. Would recommend.
Perfect location to see all that Kona has to offer!
This condo was the perfect location to experience Kailua Kona. But first let me say we are from North Carolina and had to leave right as Hurricane Florence was hitting. It took a bit of effort and a lot of frustration but we were finally able to get there and JoJo was very understanding and accommodating as we were a day late on our arrival. The condo is well appointed with everything you could need including beach towels, a cooler and chairs for the beach! The location is within easy walking distance of restaurants and stores. Both Kona Brewing and Target are just a short drive. There are many beaches to chose from within an easy driving distance as well. If you don’t mind driving over a rough lava field and a short 10-15 minute walk, we found a sweet almost private beach area at Mahai'ula beach just north of the airport. There are shade trees along the beach and we got to swim with two sea turtles! Perfection! We will definitely stay here again should we find ourselves on The Big Island! Mahalo!
Great location, amenities, and stay
From the time we opened the door we knew this would be the ideal location for our trip to Kailua Kona. The condo is nicely appointed with all that you would ever need. We loved the large beach towels and cooler for your days at the beach. The location is close to all the elements of the town, the shops, ABC store, the farmers market type thing on Alii drive, and we walked to dinner most nights - the exception being when we went to Kona Brewing Company. We tend to have active vacations, hiking down to Kealakekua Bay, the Waipio Valley, and days at the beaches. That said this is all you ever could need or want for this type of stay. We will definitely be looking to stay here again on our next trip to the big island.
This is a downtown urban Hawaiian village like no other spot in the world. Travelers come from all across the globe especially to watch the Ironman competition which occurs directly in front of our building! It's a once in a lifetime experience just to watch. Our place is only a 15 car ride to a white sand secluded beach or a 2 hour ride to the majestic Volcano's National Park Kilauea. If you feel like staying home just walk across the street and order a cocktail while you watch the sunset at Huggo's on the Rocks. There is always too many choices and never enough time!
