Welcome to 'The Bungalow' aka 'Home of the Honu' (The Hawaiian green sea turtle) and Gateway to the Whales (during season).

Our breathtaking vacation home is located directly on the beach in Honokowai about 30 feet from the water. The beach itself is so private that Hawaiian sea turtles come up to sleep on the sand!

Enjoy direct ocean front views not only from the large spacious lanai but also from the living room, kitchen, and dining area.

This fully re-modeled 2nd floor, 1 bedroom (King Size Bed), 1 full bath (with Full Tub), vacation home is truly a 5 star gem. The complete upgrade and remodel includes granite counter tops (bathroom included), mosaic tiles (and murals) in the tub and shower, a full kitchen (with new appliances including dishwasher), plus a washer and dryer for laundry.

In addition, the walls are adorned with local designer art stylishly placed throughout the entire home. The fully separated bedroom has Shoji Japanese doors and is situated at the end of a long extended hallway.

At the end of that hallway is a step down living room which has a separate queen size sofa sleeper, matching recliner, and full dining area; all facing the water and the spacious direct ocean front lanai (perfect for meals for up to 4 people). Because of the amazing lay out of the Condo, up to 2 couples can actually share this spacious beachfront retreat without ever getting in each other's way.

The Hale Mahina Beach Resort itself is also consistently rated as one of the top 10 resort destination complexes in the Lahaina area by numerous travel directories. The Hale Mahina Resort is also complete with an Ocean Front Pool and Jacuzzi, BBQ , and Picnic Area. Each island is unique and each part of each island has it's own unique charm. Honokowai is especially phenomenal as you can see both the islands of Lanai and Molokai at the same time and whales and turtles seem to agree! Those islands also create a sheltered channel in the waters that run along the shoreline in Honokowai where the Hale Mahina is located. The grounds of the Hale Mahina are beautifully maintained and manicured daily with hibiscus blooming everywhere. When you then combine that with the fact that your beach is essentially so private that even the Hawaiian Honu call it their home and choose to lounge on the grounds; all one can say is that it is a magical place!

What makes this condo unique

Sitting on the lanai, feeling the gentle breeze of the trade winds, and watching turtles and whales (during season) frolic right in front of you is something that words really cannot describe, except perhaps paradise?

TRULY AMAZING VACATION HOME

We stayed in this oceanfront condo from 5/15/16 thru 5/28/16. There are truly not enough words, time and space in this review to express our heartfelt gratitude, amazement and overall wonder of the amenities, location and beauty of this condo unit. We spent our honeymoon here knowing that it was truly fate that we ended up at this location instead due to our original booking with another condo complex having been canceled because of HOA elected remodeling. As it turns out, we couldn't have been happier with what this condo and its prime location provided us. The overall cleanliness, furnishings, fully-equipped kitchen & bath, in-unit washer & dryer and even snorkeling/boogie boarding items were readily available at our disposal. Impressive views off the lanai of the ocean, private beach and even Moloka'i and Lanai islands. After a quick trip to Costco with a few supplies, we were more than set for our two week long stay at our new home away from home.

Honu for days and fish life galore for snorkeling pretty much at this complex's private beach area with close to nothing resident crowds and lots of parking (FREE at that). With pretty much all the attractions, beaches, restaurants all either in walking distance or a short drive throughout the island, this truly was a perfect location. And yet, the biggest bonus of all - we got to meet the owner, Eugene, on our last day as he was the next 'guest' to arrive and he even extended our beach access after leaving the condo until we were ready to head out to Kahalui Airport later that evening. What a truly genuine and sincere person and very generous to share his paradise home for any and all to enjoy as much as he does, I'm sure!!!

DIRECT OCEANFRONT!

We stayed the month of January 2016 at The Hale Mahina, condo A202. Eugene (owner) and Linda were a delight to work with. Booking was easy and secure. My questions were always quickly answered. We flew into the West Maui airport (JHM) which is only a mile to the condo. We walked it with just our backpacks. Taxi $12. Also Uber service available. Upon arrival the security box with condo key is located on the condo door. There are two buildings. Condo is in Building A. There is an elevator if needed. The Hale Mahina is a small and quiet complex which is exactly what we wanted. It appeared the resort is mostly inhabited by seniors and not the ideal location for children. Perfect set up for us.

The condo was very nice and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen. We did not cook but everything appeared to be in good working order. Lots of ample space for the two of us. The photos in the listing are accurate. Internet worked very well. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, but no way to escape the street noise from the bedroom. It was really nice to have a screen on front door for a constant breeze. We appreciated having a washer and dryer. There are two steps going into the living room. Of course we spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the view, watching whale and turtle activity. Bring your binoculars! The beach and ocean are super close to the condo balcony with unobstructed views. I don’t know how the view could get any better! We loved the constant noise of the waves. The heated pool was very clean but the temperature was too cold for us to enjoy. The ocean water was actually warmer than the pool. We did enjoy the hot tub. There were no games/toys or loud partying/noise allowed in the pool area and we appreciated that. We had fun in the water every day. Snorkel equipment and board rental nearby. Highly suggest water shoes as broken shells and hidden rocks in the water are sharp. There is a Med Center located within a mile. The sandy beach is only three properties long if you like to walk the beach. The grounds were nicely groomed and maintained, and the complex felt secure and safe. The beach is private, accessible only to residents through a locked gate. There were clean grills (none-gas) avail. There was always a nice assortment of colorful flowers. The residents and visitors were all very friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book this condo again. It is a TRUE vacationer’s paradise! You cannot go wrong by staying here.

Great place

The condo was exactly as advertised and Linda was terrific in providing information and responding to emails. The area is along a road where there are several condominium complexes that were built along the beach in West Maui. This condo is right on a nice beach. We saw many whales from the balcony. The pool/beach area was never crowded and the condo is only a very short drive into the main area (i.e. Front St., Lahaina). Likewise, I walked each morning for coffee at a local market. My only complaint is that the road noise at night is quite loud (although I imagine this would be an issue for any condo along this road). Ear plugs might help. Otherwise, the condo was well-equipped, clean, very comfortable, and not crowded. This is perfect for a small family. We will definitely use the condo again.

Simply gorgeous!

We have stayed at a number of condos in the past but this condo, by far, is the best. It's beautifully upgraded with tiled floors and a kitchen that is better equipped than my kitchen! The photos of the fish of Maui in the condo were beautiful. There is a mirror on the wall of the lanai, which we thought was odd, but once we saw the effect we loved it. When sitting in the living room, it gave a bigger view of the ocean, which was great. Also, having the security screen door allowed us to have the door open so that we could enjoy the breezes. One of our favorite things to do while sitting on the lanai was to watch the many turtles swim past. One even came onto the beach to rest. Overall, we loved the condo and will be back again soon.
